I can't see God of War 3 Remastered being given away as chances are the sales of that will spike now courtesy of those that have just discovered the franchise and are wanting more after finishing the new one.
Lawbreakers would make good sense given its current lack of players and I'd be fine with that as I quite enjoyed the beta.
I actually sprung for this the last time it cropped up purely for the Darksiders games. Being in the UK too I can confirm that it can be played on your regular PSN account providing you redeem it on a US account that also has your PS4 as its default console.
I imagine the top tier has sold out as it's basically one code that redeems all the games rather than individual codes for each title. It stops people hawking codes on eBay for the games they don't want.
It's actually one of the better looking PSVR games I've played and it definitely feels like one of the more polished experiences for the platform. Shame it can be pretty tough to actually find an online match to join though I guess this is where the PS4's Communities functionality comes in handy.
There is enough single player content in here for those wanting to unlock customisation items for each of the pilots/ships.
Well the good news is that (online) Amazon, Game, Tesco Direct, Argos etc now seem to have PSVR back in stock and readily available (slightly unfortunate timing for this article mind)
They really should have taken advantage of the shortage though and come back with a repackaged Resident Evil 7 bundle. I'm definitely going to bite when they offer a slightly better vfm option.
This literally popped through my letterbox this morning. I sold my original copy ages ago as I wasn't interested it throwing down so much money for the DLC.
However due to it recently appearing on Rakuten for £23.85 (which it's still priced at now btw) combined with one of the numerous 15% off codes they spam to your inbox means I got it for twenty quid. Being that I haven't played ANY of the DLC it was low enough to tempt me back.
That said, it's already gone to the back of a fairly lengthy backlog ...
I noticed that all the free avatars I tried to download and apply to my account on the Vita ages ago (and failed) have now appeared as being usable on the PS4
@HazMan1988 Hmmm ... it just seems to have worked on mine straight off the bat without me having to do any messing about with it
I've just had a look on my TV, when you go to the 'Input List' screen there's a 'SIMPLINK Setting' mapped to the Green button which when clicked gives the option to enable 'TV remote control for all LG devices connected with HDMI'. Surprisingly, enabling this seems to work for everything I have connected to my TV ... none of which are LG btw.
I'm using a Smart TV that's a few years old (and is actually more of Dumb TV for the majority of the time) but have a dig about in your settings to see if you've any more SIMPLINK options other than to sync everything to the standby. It could be some of the older LG sets don't let you do it which would be annoying
I just enabled the Simplink for the HDMI port the PS4 is connected to on my LG TV and I'm able to control the console with my bog standard remote control as well as the remote for my Surround system (this includes negotiating the crossbar menu on the PS4 home screen too)
If anybody is wanting a media remote but has yet to enable Simplink (or your TV manufacturer's equivalent) give it a go as you might already be able to use the remote you own without realising it
Considering Bloodborne only came out on Friday, Battlefield: Hardline would also have a weeks worth of sales in its favour too
I tried to buy Bloodborne in Manchester City centre on Friday afternoon and everywhere had actually sold out of it. Apparently the big GAME branch had only ordered a hundred copies in as their head office hadn't anticipated such a demand for it
Cracking game but I think they could do a better job with the menus as they seem to be missing a 'Play again?' option at the 'Game Over' screen (not to mention a 'Restart' option in the pause menu)
Being thrown back to the title screen then having to cycle through all the options at the end of each game (even the 'Play in 3D' one) gets a bit tiresome especially when attempting one of the 'one life and you're dead' game variations that can be over quickly
Also having to answer 'No' to sending a challenge at the end of every game could be streamlined by just having a 'Press — to issue a challenge' option instead
That's just me being impatient and eager to get back into the action though
In addition to getting rid of the all the irritating superfluous uninstalled icons from the library folder (2 FIFA demos and 2 Destiny Betas stuck in mine amongst others) it'd be nice if they gave the option to lock games to the scroll bar so they don't disappear when other games are played.
It'd also be good if when using an app, for example You Tube that the YT icon appeared in scroll bar rather than the folder full of apps it appears in (most of which I haven't installed)
Profiles could be a bit more fleshed out. Giving 25 characters (or whatever it is) to describe yourself is a bit woeful
With the lack of new or decent avatars to choose from then I can't think of any good reason why can't allow us to use the profile photo normally reserved for 'real name' friends as our main avatar. Failing that ... add some new avatars!!
It'd also be cool when inserting a Blu-ray movie if all the relevant info, cover art, imdb links etc was brought up (not dissimilar to Plex)
Didn't this guy buy Killzone AFTER this had become common knowledge?
I wonder if there's a case for those who begrudgingly bought an Xbox One with Kinect bundle after MS stated that the XB1 wouldn't work without the camera?
The free Destiny and COD:AW themes finally turned up in the the European PS store today too
They're all quite nice themes but I wish they'd make more of an effort to ensure all the onscreen text stood out a bit more as occasionally having white text on a white background isn't as legible as it could be
When Shareplay first became available I figured I'd check it out to see if it actually worked so invited a mate in for a game of Diablo III ... we spent a couple of hours playing it and it worked flawlessly
Two days later he went out and bought Diablo III
If companies don't see this as an added way of selling their games to people who otherwise probably wouldn't have bought them then it's their loss
@seeafish Yeah I imagine it's limited to just one person connecting at once but it'll be interesting to see if you're able to have 2 or 3 people playing locally with the 4th playing via Shareplay
@DeWiz Plants vs Zombies is an absolute hoot and well worth a purchase at that price. There's never been any problem finding games on it at all but I imagine like a lot of online games at this precise moment the population had taken a slight hit due to the long awaited arrival of Destiny
It's only a temporary price drop from what I can gather so if it was ever on your radar now is the time to strike. It'll be back up to £35 in a week or so
Typical Microsoft really in that they'd rather pay to deprive than pay to create. Can't see how they'd think this would make people warm to the idea of getting an Xbone if they already have a PS4. I'm certainly not bothered enough about Tomb Raider to make that jump
@Longaway I would LOVE them to add 3D to Resogun too
It's quite possible that they could be bringing out a PS4 version of Super Stardust HD. I seem to recall a lot of billboards dotted around the in game world of Dead Nation: Apocalypse edition advertising it ... the answer could have been under our noses the whole time
I think having to spread the DLC over 6 chapters has definitely impacted negatively on the amount we get in each pack. Speaking as somebody who bought all the DLC for the Xbox iterations these were really hefty updates and I'm fairly sure that one of these packs alone added about 35 new tracks.
They could really do with adding the online MP back into the game too
It's decent value but anybody who wanted to play any of those games has likely already bought them by now. With new versions of FIFA and Madden due in the very near future it's just a clever way for EA to create a revenue stream from a bunch of old games with diminished retail worth. A plus point might see the server life for the older sports titles extended a bit ... but it's no guarantee
@Reverend_Skeeve Just thought I'd try District 9 in my machine and it seemed like it wasn't going to work for me either. It got as far as the menu where you select Human / Prawn then I got a blank screen for quite some time but it must've been downloading the menu. Took a lot longer than it should but it did start eventually
I reckon Sony have been sat on a 3D Blu-ray update for some time just so they can trump Microsoft when they release their version. It seems odd that they've not addressed this yet ... I've a load of 3D films sat on my shelf I can't watch
@shingi_70 I think they're possibly using it as a gauge to see whether there's actually any demand for a new version of the game. It sounds very much like a passion project for them rather than full on planned release so if it doesn't make the target then they at least know to divert their resources elsewhere
It's a pretty ambitious total to aim for in fairness but I figured I'd do my bit and pledged $15.00 as I was quick enough to get the early backers rate. If they don't meet the target then no money leaves my account and at best if it IS successful I've got a game I would have likely bought anyway a little bit cheaper
@JaxonH ShopTo in the UK currently have pre-orders for the physical copies of the PS4 version (£18.85) and the Vita version (£16.85) so it'll probably have a similarly low-ish price Stateside.
I must admit I don't really get Minecraft but at the same time I only really had a short crack at the 360 demo and it just didn't really grab me. I might be tempted to give it another shot at some point though as I do kinda feel like I'm missing out on something
@Reverend_Skeeve I guess they didn't announce its existence straight away as it makes sense to maintain radio silence when they have upcoming DLC to hawk. Re: Talking Point: What Free December 2018 PS Plus Games Do You Want?
Far Cry Primal seems to be one of those games that always gets overlooked so I can see that cropping up on PS+ at some point.
A Pro enhanced version of the Killzone Shadow Fall MP would be cool too.
