Re: Madden NFL 21 Tips Kansas City Chiefs for Super Bowl LV

Hyperluminal

@hypnotoad I don't know why the staff here get so judgmental so often. What do they want, an echo chamber? Mate, I know what you mean. I attended a game and unless you're a fan of the sport the stop/start nature of the sport is really boring and off-putting. 4 to 5 hours is way too long for such relatively little activity to watch. I love football but I can't imagine wanting to watch a 5 hour long match, even if its Palace. πŸ˜†πŸ‘ horses for course I guess 😊

Re: Prince of Persia Puts the Sands of Time on Hold Until a Later Date

Hyperluminal

Such a shame, it was hoping for a good remake. With any luck things might change in the future.

And I love your use of 'oft' in your writing Sammy! Good old English term seldom used, nice 😊
So much better than the American-driven fascination for using the term 'oftentimes'. So uneconomical, what's wrong with often? πŸ˜†

Re: Mass Effect Legendary Edition Skips Pinnacle Station DLC

Hyperluminal

@theheadofabroom there's logic to what you're saying. It's certainly another way things can be perceived. Some people will think like how you put it, others will find it funny, it depends on the individual. What's sad and disappointing is when people like Liam, who works on a website and should know better, can't even acknowledge that the comment could be taken humourously. Very immature. Clearly that's wrong as it has been demonstrably shown that some people have got the joke and found it amusing.

@Liberty____1st πŸ˜†πŸ‘

I was watching the London Marathon and saw one runner dressed as a chicken and another runner dressed as an egg. I thought: β€˜This could be interesting.'

For the price this game will sell for, if it reviews well and it's the real deal, it will be well worth it.

Re: Mass Effect Legendary Edition Skips Pinnacle Station DLC

@LiamCroft well that shows quite a lack of imagination Liam. I guess emojis are what's required this day and age. There seems to be a disconnect in social media that if tone and intent it isn't spelt out for people with visual aids like a smiley face, and you don't know the person, a negative perception is likelier.

Re: Mass Effect Legendary Edition Skips Pinnacle Station DLC

Hyperluminal

@LiamCroft well thats on you because your bias is towards negative behaviours. Several times you've singled me out because you take issue with what I've said. We're communicating on a thread. You have to be open minded to the fact that your impression isn't necessarily the one meant by the commenter. Maybe I should've put a laughing emoji on it to make it clear for those people who choose to take things negatively over positively. Thats my fault.

Re: Mass Effect Legendary Edition Skips Pinnacle Station DLC

Hyperluminal

@PegasusActual93 Yeah I was being deadly serious. No way I could've written that as a joke πŸ˜†πŸ˜‰πŸ‘ Its quite interesting psychologically speaking; you read it and in your mind I said all that as if I were complaining. Another person with a different frame of mind would take it for the tongue-in-cheek comment I intended to make. It's not your fault.

Anyway, interestingly, the Halo team even included the Halo 5 Guardians beta in the Complete Collection, let alone just the games and dlc.

Re: Mass Effect Legendary Edition Skips Pinnacle Station DLC

Hyperluminal

Some of the DLC will be missing? No problem. They'll just have to make a slight adjustment to the game's name to
'Mass Effect: Legendary, except a little bit of dlc from one of the trilogy that would've taken 6 months to produce but, you know, we could've, but management didn't want to do that work, deadlines and all that, i suppose they're not motivated by a sense of pride in the franchise like the Halo team, oh well, guess this is almost complete and still good value Edition'

Edit: after consulting with my lawyers I've been instructed to point out this is a joke. Its not my actual opinion. I've taken a hypothetical opinion to an obviously absurd extreme, a fairly standard formula for a joke

Edit2: edit 1 is also a joke. And so is this. And this.

Re: Share Your Gaming Stats with Spotify-Esque PlayStation Wrap Up 2020

Hyperluminal

Just to let you know mate, its tonne not ton if you're typing that in England. Also, interestingly, they actually relate to different amounts of weight, the American ton is 2000lbs which is a little over 900kg, less than a tonne 😁

Thanks for the link, definitely going to take a look.

Edit: aww crap I have data turned off.

Re: Ys IX: Monstrum Nox (PS4) - Adol's Darkest Adventure Doesn't Quite Hit the Highs of Ys VIII

Hyperluminal

@Bentley-Ma- you can't hack, slash or dodge in turn based games?

Anyway you're missing the point. Hack, slash, dodge and roll is in every game with combat in it, its hardly describing combat mechanics. If you reviewed FFXV or Persona 5 and all you said about the combat system was you can hack, slash, roll and jump would you think thats adequate for a review? Maybe so for people familiar with the games. So I suppose it depends on who these reviews are aimed at. Everybody or just those who've already played them.

I think Ys games are a hidden gem and more people should experience them. Its a shame that they're not being given more exposition to better illustrate what they offer.

Re: Ys IX: Monstrum Nox (PS4) - Adol's Darkest Adventure Doesn't Quite Hit the Highs of Ys VIII

Hyperluminal

I'm a little disappointed that the graphics and the overall look of the game being held in equal regard as the gameplay in this review. The Ys games have never been much to write home about in the graphical stakes and I wouldn't hold that against it even if the tone of this one is less ebullient than previous games. Ys games are about the sublime gameplay, secrets and the combat. I'm fortunate enough to have played games in this franchise but if I had never there's absolutely no light shed in the review as to how this game actually plays. It could be turn-based for all we'd know, the review assumes I'm already familiar with it. Having said that I'm glad that you have reviewed it as these games often get overlooked for being too 'niche'.

Re: PlatinumGames Dismisses Claims of PS5 Abandoning Japan

Hyperluminal

@get2sammyb great, thanks.

precisely. The notion is absolutely propersterous. Bloomsberg get a whiff of some disquiet over an issue as pathetic as changing the default button for action to what we're used to in the West and it becomes a story about how Sony have disrpected their homeland.

Where I'm from thats sh*t-stirring. Japan has a culture rooted in traditions. They can't even change a button press option without nonsense being insinuated about it. I don't know why opinions like that get validated by news outlets. Actually what am I saying, of course I do! 🀣

Re: Talking Point: Is Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart Still a PS5 Launch Window Game?

Hyperluminal

Considering there's no official length of what constitutes a launch window there's no right objective answer. Add to that PS5 consoles 3 months after launch are not available to buy freely or at will. At the point where PS5 are in constant distribution I would argue that would be the philosophical start of the launch window.

Anyway its a pretty pointless question. Console generations have slowly been getting longer each time and their lifetimes extend well into the subsequent generation (apart from MS consoles. Until now they dropped their old consoles like a stone when a new one came out). The last PS3 was made 18 months after PS4 launched. If a console has a near decade lifespan its not a stretch to consider Year 1 as a launch window.

Re: Reminder: You Can Claim PS5 PS Plus Games Even If You Don't Have the Console Yet

Hyperluminal

@Voltan I know, I totally agree with you, you're absolutely right. Not the point I'm making. All PSPLUS games have been available to claim regardless of what platform you own, its part of the PSPLUS package. This article is headlined and framed as if people couldn't claim PS5 games if they don't own a PS5 and they're 'missing out, right?' Clearly we all know that's nonsense, we've never needed to own any platform at all to claim any game. They've always been available from the app, console or website store to claim.

If this article had been titled and presented in the fashion you have mentioned it would make more sense to me. You completely made it clear and relevant. Its not a big deal, and I appreciate your reply.

Re: Here's a Bunch of Destruction AllStars GIFs While You Wait for PS5 Gameplay

Hyperluminal

@get2sammyb why do posts have to be constructive? I've never seen an article dedicated to a gif before, you can't tell me that isn't funny πŸ˜†

Don't take things so personally that you feel like you have to keep singling me out for special attention because every now and then I'm not conformist. I could go through all the posts here and easily find a non-constructive post that you're not bothered about...heck there's even one that jokingly alludes to this article being a marketing ploy πŸ˜† ...made me laugh anyway. I got told I need to get 'sand out of my v...g...a' the other day in a rude manner, don't remember anyone being told they're not being constructive then πŸ˜† ....not that I'd want that, Its not like it bothered me 😊

Come on, I've been reading various gaming websites for decades, I've never seen an article this insubstantial published, you've got to admit the PS style is lots of articles with minimal content. I think as a newcomer I'm just starting to wrap my head around it.

I think the way you and your staff engage with the community is easily the best I've seen. You're all constantly in the comment section, which is brilliant...hand on heart it's what I'm most impressed by, for what that's worth.

Let me get it out of my system and get used to your website's scattershot editorial approach πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘ ....this is going to be tough..πŸ˜†

Look forward to your reply. Seriously, its great that you all take the time 😁
