Re: Wield a Magic Paintbrush in Chicory: A Colorful Tale, Coming to PS5, PS4 in 2021

@hypnotoad yep. Its funny because you will never, ever find an American who spells words with the English spelling, or pronounce words with the English pronunciation, like schedule for example (skedule in US, shedule in UK), but English folk frequently use do exactly that, even though they didn't learn that at school. Shows how easily influenced we are by their cultureπŸ€·β€β™‚οΈπŸ˜„

Still, I only mentioned it because it sticks out like a sore thumb in the articles, I'm not complaining.

@Milktastrophe

'boo hoo'?

OK if you want to talk to me rudely like a keyboard warrior I will be blunt. Are you joking? You think putting game mechanics behind a patent is good for the industry? Imagine if they all did that! Did you think when Nintendo patented the D-Pad that was good for the industry? Or when Sega patented directional arrows in games? Or why we haven't seen dual-reality action on one screen before like found in the recent Xbox game The Medium? That's because MS patented the effect. Ever wondered why when we had long load screens there was nothing to distract us whilst waiting? Thats because Namco patented mini-games during loading. Thanks Namco. Did you know Nintendo wanted to patent jumping in games?!! Imagine that! Thankfully most of these patents have expired.

You clearly don't understand how things work. The WB patent is so broad in its wording that it would be difficult for WB to defend it but the damage is done. Smaller publishers and developers won't have the financial muscle to go up against WB should WB decide that any part of the third party game mechanic resemble the Nemesis System. Its stifles innovation, not encourage it like you say it should.

Many developers in the games industry have gone on record with their disappointment at what WB has done. I agree with them.

Re: Techland Insists It's Still Independent After Acquisition Speculation Intensifies

First of all, an article based on 'hearsay'? Really? That should be mentioned on the feedback article. We don't need rumour-mongering. Is this a news site or what? Your headline, 'speculation intensifies'...that because sites keep publishing articles based on unsubstantiated rumours.

Its like a self-fulfilling prophesy. Websites are practically creating the news themselves at this point. So much so the Techland guy has to come out and make a statement! Again πŸ™„ You don't need the clicks that badly PS, you've got a great site here with, from my limited experience, what looks like an excellent community. Give them quality over quantity. Set yourself apart from the rest by not homogenising your output with all the third rate dross out there, like Kotaku or DualShockers.

Don't take offense at what I'm saying, I say it constructively as someone outside looking in.

Ok time to vent....Microsoft are absolute w***kers. Their whole mantra is to appropriate rather than create and innovate. Right from the start when they arrogantly tried to buy Nintendo to now with all the bids for well-established studios. I hope MS and the future of GP fails hard. MS create nothing. A handful of repeating first person exclusives over the last couple of console generations is pathetic. And now even their console design is just more of the same but a bit better. Cynical bunch of t**sers.

Fewer articles that are only two paragraphs long with minimal information.

More journalism that doesn't rely on whats been said by people moaning on Twitter or reddit as if their opinion is news.

Articles that you actually care about on topics you personally are interested in. Inspire us 😁

More articles highlighting the indie scene and niche gaming in general.

Articles with headlines that are written in standard English. Theres no need to capitalise every word of a sentence. Eurogamer is the gold standard and they haven't resorted to looking like taboola advertising.

Writers being less sensitive to opinions about their articles, more tolerance for views they don't agree with.

A system where replies to comments are not separated from the original comment so all the correspondence is available at a glance.

Some simple competitions to win a PushSquare mug 😁

Re: The Last of Us TV Show Casts The Mandalorian Star as Joel

Hyperluminal

@starbuck2212 bad example. Shaft is a symbol of black empowerment in a society that is prejudiced against his race. You can't ever possible cast a white man to play that role. There's no reason Joel can't be black apart from he wasn't written that way so I could upset fans who would see it as being woke. If Idris Alba ended up being Joel, or James Bond for that matter I'd be fine with that. I think the Marheshala looks too old for the part and doesn't make sense.

Re: The Last of Us TV Show Casts The Mandalorian Star as Joel

@Wormold nearly but not quite. Right at the start the TV executives got together to discuss making a brand new show specifically to annoy a tiny minority of people communicating on internet threads enough for those people to post a disparaging, sweeping generalisation online over the relevancy of the project. They chose TLoU as the show's premise because they knew there'd definitely be that kind of person within the demographic of people who like the game enough to say something like that πŸ˜†

Get effed Take Two. I'm not buying yet another version of this game you can't be bothered to make any SP content for just so you can make more money with your casino rubbish. That goes for your older stuff. Put some money and effort into NEW CONTENT single player GTAV stuff like so many people are asking, that isn't further monetised with MTs. Redeveloping old games instead is a joke.
