Re: March 2021 PS Plus Games Are Available to Download Now

Hyperluminal

Liam, do you perhaps know if I were to play the PSPlus version of FFVII will the game save work with the digital or physical version I can buy?

I ask because if I can't upgrade to PS5 down the line I don't want to start a game on the PSPlus version.

Also from experience when I had Pro Evo on disk and then swapped to digital, the game didn't recognise my settings save file.

Re: Hands On: Incredibly Rough Outriders Demo Kills Our Hope for This Looter Shooter's Launch

Played the demo and agree there are issues with cut-scenes, dialogue missing and poor lip synch. The game aethtically looks like The Division but worse.

But the combat has lots of promise, enough promise to not make a judgement on it yet or let the roughness of the issues mentioned to influence my judgement.

I would gladly put up with non game affecting problems, or a stupid premise if the gameplay and combat is fun and engaging. Playing this on my own was pleasant enough, playing it with others really made it sing. The Mass Effect style synergy with your powers when other are present were interesting. And the promise of interesting builds in the skill trees gave me reason to hope.

I think what I really, really liked about it is that its not a GaaS but more like Borderlands so its already ahead in my book. People have to be careful not to compare it to games like that.

I'm amazed you've already come to the conclusion that the demo has killed your hopes for the game. It is rough, the hub space was dull because you expect to see other players milling around like in Destiny/The Division, the story is nonsense, but the gameplay was good enough to wait and see how the full release is received.

When you read about people who have had extra access to the game ita clear from their experience that the loot system is nothing like Anthem. It appears to be very well thought out and actually useful. Some of the armour sets look the part but more importantly have interesting status effects that add to the game. As do weapons. Its really more like Borderlands than anything else.

Re: Leaked Elden Ring Trailer Sends Internet on Easter Egg Hunt

@ScottyG yes agreed. This site often reads more like a Twitter feed than a professional gaming website. The constant two-paragraph delivery of rumours and/or filler articles serves to dilute what could be a great site to a decent one.

I read this site because it seems to have a friendly community and staff who engage with them. That's a huge plus point. If they could just aim more towards quality reporting the site could be special and really stand out.

Re: Leaked Elden Ring Trailer Sends Internet on Easter Egg Hunt

Whats the point of this article? To let us know there's a bit of a trailer that we all know exists and one day will be shown but we can't see yet, that another site has seen but can't publish? This is the kind of non-article PS doesn't need. It labelled 'News' but that isn't really the case. Its gossip. There's a great site here that needs tightening up by going for quality over quantity. Stuff like this is tabloid-level, let it be beneath you editorially.

Honest feedback, I always want this site to improve.

Re: UK Sales Charts: Spider-Man: Miles Morales and The Last of Us 2 Enjoy Huge Sales Spikes

@Medic_Alert admonishment? Hardly. I just pointed out its illogical. Read the comment again, take away any bias you want to attribute to it and you'll see its just two strangers talking to another with no reason to be disrespectful or condescending.

The article may be making an assumption but its not based on thin air. Its a very reasonable assumption that fits the facts and also fits the pattern of behaviour and the expected outcome of a product getting a heavy discount.

Re: Sony Japan Studio Winding Down Internal Development Efforts, Says New Report

@get2sammyb

"I hope anyone in here complaining bought No More Heroes Allowed VR and Knack 2 at launch! But we all know only about 500 people did, so...

The writing has been on the wall for Japan Studio since the PS3 days, when there was a famous Kotaku article about the absolute state of that entire team. They brought in Allan Becker to fix it and it doesn't seem like it panned out.

Obviously this is a shame and disappointing news....."

Then why not do an article breaking this down? I agree with you that the internet just vomits out the bare-bone facts without any critical analysis. Your post is a perfect start for a really good exposé on the decline of Japan Studios; its far more informative and interesting than the article itself. Its exactly the kind of thing your feedback article asked for. I'd greatly appreciate you flexing your journalistic muscle and giving us a great piece on this subject please.

Re: Call of Duty: Warzone Players Already Hate the New Intro Video

Hyperluminal

@nessisonett no, the game is not unplayable/the boiler isn't broken. It would be more like you complaining because you had to wait 5 minutes for your central heating to heat the entire house whereas when I was young we only had a fireplace so the whole house was never warm, only the rooms you could build a fire in, and even then it took a while 😊

Re: Call of Duty: Warzone Players Already Hate the New Intro Video

Hyperluminal

Rant incoming....So what? Who cares? Seriously, why do we give any attention to what a few divs on Twitter say about a video? They have to wait 33 seconds? Get used to it. I used to have to wait 20 minutes for a Spectrum game to load, and even then it wasn't guaranteed to work!

I feel better now, thanks PS 😁

Re: Huge PS Store Indie Sale Discounts Lots of Smaller PS5, PS4 Games

Hyperluminal

Baldur's Gate is finally on sale for £21.59 PSPlus price or £23.99. Brilliant games, all the DLC, over a thousand hours of content and progression carries over from the first game into the second. The writing and characters are top notch too.

Its not been on sale before digitally and this is cheaper than you can buy it for physically by at least a tenner.

Re: PS5 Stock Will Increase As Each Month Passes, Sony Hopes Situation Will Improve Quickly

Hyperluminal

@BloodNinja then wonder no more 😊 There's a class action law suit because of the awful warranty law in America (and its a high profile product, lawyers will love that 😊) They don't have the statutory rights like we do in the UK. The retailer isn't liable, the manufacturer is, and after 3 months they don't cover faulty goods unless you bought a protection plan.

We don't see law suits over here because we have better consumer rights. Class action law suits are ten-a-penny over there. Theres even currently one against Google for not fulfilling their promise of 4K gaming on certain games 🙄

Re: PS5 Stock Will Increase As Each Month Passes, Sony Hopes Situation Will Improve Quickly

Hyperluminal

@BloodNinja but you pretend to know its a widespread problem because drift has been reported on? Nobody has the real figure of how many dualsenses have failed compared to how many are in use. Without that knowledge everything is anecdotal. So I understand that you don't accept people telling you its not a major problem but I don't see how you can consider your opinion that it is to be verified or valid.

Youre just arguing the other side of the coin, you're no more proved right than they are until we get to know the actual, official failure rate.
