@Heavyarms55 games do not run from the disc. They are installed. Disc less or not. Games will take the same amount of storage.

The thing is if you buy digital you will always have to buy digital games. So only $50 is not enough. Every game you buy means more income for Sony. Has to be at least $100 cheaper. Say you own the PS5 for at least 5 years. Sony will recoup the $100 difference in no time and from there it is pure profit.

I recently bought an external ssd (Samsung T5) before and after playing assassin creed origins. The load times are definitely better with the external ssd. Load times are at least cut in half.

@lacerz it is not just BC. Also huge improvements in games. And not game code needs to changed. Xbox is dominating in this area. Playing Xbox 360 games in 4K is an amazing experience. Often no need to buy 'Remastered' games.
