A few months late here, but this review is hilarious. Sarcastic and funny, but just slight enough that you can't really tell if read in a straightforward manner.
It may get overlooked, but the hotlink in the "emergency board meeting" text in the article leads to a transcript of said meeting - and it is VERY fascinating to read.
Disappointing, but not surprising. It won't deter me from buying a PS5 anyway.
It may not have gotten used as much as I think it would have, but having access to every generation of PlayStation games all on one machine would have been a dream, just to have the ability at your disposal.
Great news for a console well into its twilight years.
Its been a bad month for everyone, but thank goodness gaming is around to help make things just a little bit better. Pleased to see all three major consoles doing well.
I've never played the Uncharted games, so this is a good month for me. But I completely get why its choice is disappointing for so many others and longtime players.
The original Resident Evil 2 is one of my all-time favorite games from the original PlayStation, and this remake went beyond what I was hoping for it: changed and altered enough but not so much that it wasn't like the same game at all. The GameCube remake of the original Resident Evil game did this expertly as well.
Pretty shameless in its copying of the Nintendo Direct format... it was almost beat for beat (with the box scrolling of hinting what's to come, even) that many of the newer format Directs have been using since the Switch era began.
That said, I think it worked well for Sony because it kept it moving with very little downtime. When they actually have a lot of new (non-VR) stuff to announce, this will really take off for them.
@get2sammyb @ShogunRok I have the 7200 model from the RDR2 bundle here in the states (just purchased yesterday). So I can confirm its available outside the UK.
It was very boring. But pretty amazing in the fact that they can be applauded for touting "No Loot boxes" when they are the ones who were one of the first to perpetuate them!
The Vita was a great handheld and still is. But Sony didn't know how to market it anywhere outside of Japan where it did very well. Sony let stock run out for so long before the launch of the Slim that many people thought it was dead at that point. Outrageous memory card pricing hurt as well. I feel Sony lost interest and gave up on it way too easily.
I'm sad they don't see a future in dedicated handheld gaming, but if their next business model followed that of how they handled the Vita, perhaps it's for the best.
I'm going to be playing the Disney Afternoon Collection, which I just bought from the flash sale. $7.99 for this collection is beyond an amazing value!
@Craggis19 I completely agree. I think sometimes it may be difficult because if something comes up, people will accuse you of not sticking to your word and there are lots of things that can happen to affect even some of the best laid plans. But it is nice to see a plan is in place so people won't be in constant wonder of when a review is coming or what it will contain. I am in favor of more of this happening in the future. @ShogunRok
I'm actually pretty pleased about Hatoful Boyfriend being on the list now as I've wanted to try it, but am disappointed that Child of Light was still left off of the corrected list.
@get2sammyb I played the crap out of this game!! I loved it in all of its cheesy glory!
Limited Run games is issuing the game physically in three cover variants, two of which are pictured above (representing the original blue Sega CD release and Sega 32X CD) and the original 1992 hand drawn artwork. The 32X yellow cover, they tweeted, is available through their rewards program, while the blue and original will be the "common" ones.
Also, if one goes to the website nighttrap25.com, you can download an mp3 of the title song for free.
I was interested in Guitar Hero Live until word got out about its microtransactions. And I think it was a mixture of fatigue from the previous generation, and both games coming out literally within a couple weeks of each other in many regions.
I was pleasantly surprised at all the mentions and games coming to Vita. A handful of really powerful trailers amid awkward VR presentations and a horrible ending.
But overall, I think the future for PlayStation looks very bright.
Oh man, I was excited for this game but now after reading this review, this jumps to the top of my must-buy list! I loved Theme Park and Theme Hospital, and sim games in general - and the fact that you can visit your friends' festivals is just above and beyond what I expected from this title.
My hope is that Sony does at least something Vita-related, even if it is just a passing mention of an indie game or a cross play game. I'm tired of big events coming and going and it being completely ignored.
I think PS+ would have a better perception about it if it offered a better mix of retail games and indie titles. Maybe one AA or AAA retail game every or every other month along with the indies. The problem occurs when it seems like it is nothing but indies month after month and people get restless.
I have one of these and it is beautiful. The LCD screen doesn't bother me much, is pretty sharp as LCDs go, and I don't even think about comparing it to the OLED of the older one. This one also just feels more comfortable in the hands.
It's a nice matte finish, too, so less of a chance for fingerprints and smudges.
@andrew20 @SkanetWasTaken According to their flyer I picked up last night, the Vita deal ($169.99) starts today (Tuesday) and goes through Saturday. So it's not just on Black Friday, if that helps.

Great pick those on staff who voted for it.

I'd love The Evil Within to be offered. I don't know if it has been offered before, but Layers of Fear would be a good choice for a Halloween option.
