Re: PS5 Won't Play PS3, PS2, or PS1 Games

KissMyFlapjack

Disappointing, but not surprising. It won't deter me from buying a PS5 anyway.

It may not have gotten used as much as I think it would have, but having access to every generation of PlayStation games all on one machine would have been a dream, just to have the ability at your disposal.

Re: Game of the Year: #1 - Resident Evil 2

KissMyFlapjack

The original Resident Evil 2 is one of my all-time favorite games from the original PlayStation, and this remake went beyond what I was hoping for it: changed and altered enough but not so much that it wasn't like the same game at all. The GameCube remake of the original Resident Evil game did this expertly as well.

Great pick those on staff who voted for it.

Re: Talking Point: What Did You Think of Sony's State of Play Livestream?

KissMyFlapjack

Pretty shameless in its copying of the Nintendo Direct format... it was almost beat for beat (with the box scrolling of hinting what's to come, even) that many of the newer format Directs have been using since the Switch era began.

That said, I think it worked well for Sony because it kept it moving with very little downtime. When they actually have a lot of new (non-VR) stuff to announce, this will really take off for them.

Re: Sony Doesn't See Much Potential in Portable Platforms

KissMyFlapjack

The Vita was a great handheld and still is. But Sony didn't know how to market it anywhere outside of Japan where it did very well. Sony let stock run out for so long before the launch of the Slim that many people thought it was dead at that point. Outrageous memory card pricing hurt as well. I feel Sony lost interest and gave up on it way too easily.

I'm sad they don't see a future in dedicated handheld gaming, but if their next business model followed that of how they handled the Vita, perhaps it's for the best.

Re: Site News: Destiny 2 Review - Our Plans and What You Can Expect

KissMyFlapjack

@Craggis19 I completely agree. I think sometimes it may be difficult because if something comes up, people will accuse you of not sticking to your word and there are lots of things that can happen to affect even some of the best laid plans. But it is nice to see a plan is in place so people won't be in constant wonder of when a review is coming or what it will contain. I am in favor of more of this happening in the future. @ShogunRok

Re: SEGA CD Classic Night Trap Is Partying to PS4

KissMyFlapjack

@get2sammyb I played the crap out of this game!! I loved it in all of its cheesy glory!

Limited Run games is issuing the game physically in three cover variants, two of which are pictured above (representing the original blue Sega CD release and Sega 32X CD) and the original 1992 hand drawn artwork. The 32X yellow cover, they tweeted, is available through their rewards program, while the blue and original will be the "common" ones.

Also, if one goes to the website nighttrap25.com, you can download an mp3 of the title song for free.

Re: Review: BigFest (PS Vita)

KissMyFlapjack

Oh man, I was excited for this game but now after reading this review, this jumps to the top of my must-buy list! I loved Theme Park and Theme Hospital, and sim games in general - and the fact that you can visit your friends' festivals is just above and beyond what I expected from this title.

Re: Your PlayStation Plus Sub Was Worth Over $1,100 This Year

KissMyFlapjack

I think PS+ would have a better perception about it if it offered a better mix of retail games and indie titles. Maybe one AA or AAA retail game every or every other month along with the indies. The problem occurs when it seems like it is nothing but indies month after month and people get restless.
