Re: PS5 Hits 10 Million Sales, Is the Fastest-Selling PlayStation Console Ever

Rafie

@Migoshuro Or you could look at his/her comment as frustration from people downplaying the sales. Regardless if it's from scalpers or not, there are people buying the console. Doesn't negate the sales.

It's the rhetoric that most of the sales are from scalpers, which isn't true. You don't think he has a point to be sarcastic at those folks being sarcastic about the scalper situation?!

Re: Poll: Is PlayStation Losing Ground to Xbox?

Rafie

While I don't think PlayStation is "losing" per se, I will say that they do need to recover some lost ground here. Lot of narratives being painted and it's not in their favor. Xbox is doing very well and GamePass is a huge hit. We're not going to front like it's not.

Re: Sony Game MLB The Show 21 Will Be Free with Game Pass on Xbox, Full-Price on PS5, PS4

Rafie

I wonder if they (San Diego) can stop developing the game after this one. Unless there's a deal in place where they must continue to develop the game on all platforms. If that's the case, where's the benefit for Sony?!

Ditching further development after this game would be beneficial. Create your own baseball game using the same exact engine and make them PlayStation iconic characters...or something!

Re: Poll: Are You Happy with the Way Sony Is Handling the PS5 Reveal?

Rafie

@Bistna444 You okay? You need a hug? Damn relax. Just because Xbox blew their load with a "hurry up" reveal of the Series X doesn't mean Sony has to follow suit with the PS5. Sony is marching to their own beat and not the beat of MS. You shouldn't expect them too.

So your Pro has been collecting dust just because it doesn't have bc?! Wow... I get it if you're not interested in Ghost of Tsushima. What about Last of Us 2? Sony has been cranking out exclusive after exclusive. Can't say the same for Xbox One. The 3rd party games released for the Pro and XSX graphic fidelity is marginal at best. You could get a game for either system and be good with it. Still, I don't argue anyone's preferences.

I do understand your frustrations for wanting info. PlayStation normally gives info out around June (E3 timing) for their next console. We just have to wait a bit more.

Also, we don't know everything the PS5 is gonna offer. Yes backwards compatibility is confirmed for PS4 games. Maybe their waiting or testing to see if it will work for the previous consoles. PS3 will be difficult. More than likely an emulator would be used for that. PS Now is valuable NOW. It wasn't years ago, or even months ago in my opinion. The price is what was killing them. They won't get rid of PS Now, and that's the reason why I think we won't see PS3 for backwards compatibility. They're at least working with MS to improve the network stability for streaming through Azure. So PS Now has improved and people aren't gullible for getting the service.

Re: PS4 Pro Is a 'Half-Assed Upgrade' Compared to Scorpio, Says Xbox Dev

Rafie

@3Above Not really. They don't need more power. That's not the problem they have. Their problem at the moment is exclusives. That's what's going to get them back in. However, I'm not so sure that "sales wise" they'll be able to catch PlayStation. The PS brand is stronger worldwide than just US. Xbox should just continue to get exclusives. They still sell at a great rate. It's not bad at all. It's outpacing the 360.

Re: PS4 Pro Is a 'Half-Assed Upgrade' Compared to Scorpio, Says Xbox Dev

Rafie

@RustyBullet Okay let's go with disappointing then. That is STILL subjective. While you could (not saying you personally did) say a game like Uncharted 4 is disappointing, someone else may find the game to be one of the best this gen has to offer. I never said Xbox doesn't have any games. Just that they pale in comparison in the exclusives department versus PlayStation.....which is undoubtedly true. The one thing I can agree with you here is that Metacritic shouldn't taken as the holy grail of reviews. Which is why I didn't cite it. I'm talking about well respected reviewers. Then again, even that's just an opinion of one person.

I would never argue someone's personal preference. I just thought that was ridiculous to say that Sony's exclusives were disappointing and yet Xbox was "smashing" out with exclusives. That line of wording lead me to believe that you thought that the number of exclusives on Sony's side was dismal compared to MS's. That is far from the truth. You didn't say it was what you thought personally. That's why I said something. So we've reached the climax of this conversation. It's your preference. Nothing more needs to be said.

Re: PS4 Pro Is a 'Half-Assed Upgrade' Compared to Scorpio, Says Xbox Dev

Rafie

@RustyBullet Well then say that. Say you prefer games on your Xbox than on PS4. Also, you do know that Xbox One has started acquiring the same amount of indies as PlayStation, right?! I guess not. It's nothing wrong with preference. Just don't talk about PlayStation not having any and Xbox has more. That is just absolutely false.

I do want to ask though. What is the difference of having games on your Xbox One to your PC? They share over 90% over their library. That includes games like Gears, Halo, and Forza.

Re: PS4 Pro Is a 'Half-Assed Upgrade' Compared to Scorpio, Says Xbox Dev

Rafie

@RustyBullet Then maybe you need to practice what you preach about stating facts. It is a WELL KNOWN fact that Xbox practically had no exclusives. It's the major complaint that most gamers have about them. "Xbox smashing out exclusives"....WHERE?!?! Oh and I guess I should clarify that I have all platforms as well to solidify my "objectiveness". Unfortunately for you, you're incorrect. PlayStation has been killing it with exclusives. It's not even debatable. Whether you like JRPGs, fighting games, action, etc...PlayStation has been very dominant. Let's not go tit for tat on the exclusives part. You'll be fighting an uphill battle. While the new Forza Horizon 3 is an exceptional game and is thee best race simulation on consoles, Xbox has really dwindled the quality of their flagship titles. Gears 4 is a good game, not as great as their previous titles. We won't even speak about ReCore. It was just an ok game. While Halo 5 was good, it's not as well received as it was in the past. Quantum Break is a good game. Although some people was too negative on the game...I think the game did it's job and was expected to do unrealistic numbers for an unproven new IP.

On the PS side. Well there's just too many games to name. Whether it's shovelware or something epic. You have quantity and quality. Uncharted 4 and Ratchet & Clank alone was phenomenal. Not to mention the sleeper in The Last Guardian, Alienation, KOF, etc. Drawn To Death is horrible in my opinion as well as some other indies. Too many to name. SFV has become better over time. Killer Instinct is still better though. See? I know how to give credit where it's due and criticize where it need be. If you like Xbox more than PlayStation, that's cool. Nothing wrong with that. Just don't try to discredit them with false facts about exclusives. ESPECIALLY exclusives. It's no secret PlayStation is killing Xbox on that front alone. That's why PlayStation is ahead of Xbox at the moment. The games....! This year already is jam packed with games from them. I'm sure Xbox will have some stellar announcements at E3 (so will PlayStation). Xbox needs to get back in the game with the exclusives.
