I'm just glad Insomniac's making it.
Given that it's a game franchise, it'd be pretty hard to screw up a tie-in game, even if at worst it were to come out feeling like a level pack for Nexus or something, but knowing tie-in-maker-studios, they'd manage it.
Basically, I'm going to assume that the movie tells the story of the first game with a hell of a lot of frills, while the game will tell the story of the first game with a couple of the frills that the movie brings, but be more faithful.
Also, I'm more worried about Rogue. BF ran at like sub 15-FPS quite a good chunk of the time on PS3, and having been spoiled by the PS4 version I'm hoping they actually downgrade the graphics they used on PS3 to get a more steady framerate, since Rogue is apparently old-gen exclusive.
Interesting. While I don't mean to shortchange the review by commenting on the score, all the reviews I've seen have either been at least 8's or lower than 6's. Since, let's not kid ourselves here, 7's have kinda become gaming's 'average' score rather than 5 (not so much in the case of PushSquare but in review websites in general), this might be the most ... err... ambivalent review I've seen so far.
@get2sammyb Which difficulty are you playing on? If the whole crafting system works anything like Last of Us, it sounds like playing on Hard would be the ideal way to go.
@get2sammyb I get that news/review sites like to refer to themselves in collective terms, but "We’ve cropped out our ugly mug" seems like a bit of a fallacy, don't it?
Can you take your Vita memory card out and use it in PS TV and vice versa without having to format it if they're both using the same PSN account? That's my main concern.
@get2sammyb Really? I know everyone hates tapping X to run, but I felt GTA V's controls were fine. It's the Euphoria movement engine that's the problem. The way you control the character is fine, it's the engine behind the movements that feels sluggish and heavy.
I'm really hoping this looks as good if not better than Max Payne 3 did. Pre-release bullshots of GTAV last gen looked around that quality, but of course I didn't actually expect it to since MP3 is linear and GTAV is open-world.
I hope Sucker Punch moves on from InFamous now. Uncharted was the only really big exclusive franchise that I thought deserved to be brought forward to the PS4. The other exclusive-makers should have moved on, although I guess Sucker Punch had the right to make a third infamous since they only made 2 on PS3.
@get2sammyb The maps are the Financial Plaza and the Beach (with the beached shipwrecks), both from the SP campaign, in case you want to add that to your post, Sammy. And there was supposed to be a $5 Scoped Weapons pack yesterday that didn't happen - it was even in PushSquare's very own PS Store update (EU) yesterday!
Didn't SP only have 100 staff or so in the first place? Making SS on that crew would have been a feat. Also this is another reason why I wouldn't want to enter the games industry. Little to no job security.
I actually get the feeling this won't get a next-gen re-release, because Ubisoft will be wanting to make a quick buck off it and for get about it ASAP because it's actually not what they want people to see AC as going forward (that is, a shameless moneygrab)
Wait, so was P.T supposed to be really hard to 'beat' (i.e. get to see the reveal scene)? Sounds like Kojima was being rather hopeful with that weeklong estimate.
Insomniac specifically said we'll be seeing the R&C remake this gamescom. Am I missing something? Can individual devs reveal games individually or something?
What annoys me the most about Ubisoft games is that the very first trailer reminds you that there's DLC. Perhaps announce a game, then tell us about the pre-order DLC when stores have had enough time to list the game for preorder?
@Apocalynx I would sell it and buy a standalone copy and make a tidy profit.
That's just me, though. I'm sure they'll fetch just as much when they're actually released and have sat on people's dusty shelves for a few months.
@seeafish The mere mention of UC2 MP means that it's on your mind when thinking about this. While that's understandable because it's ND, you really should try to dispel any notion that it has any relation at all the UC MP before playing.
It's cool how plenty of fan pictures are good enough to be actual bullshots.
Or actual shots, I guess, since AFAIK there isn't anything extra added to the image while the processor is freed up a little while the game is paused.
@get2sammyb Well, it would stand to reason that Sully's really old in this one, since Nate has obviously aged. Which means Sully would be a last resort since he's less able.
@get2sammyb Yeah, by 'they' I meant Naughty Dog there Like, I understand separating the DLC packs out, but Grounded is a standard difficulty now. i guess it's so people who can't manage the insanity of Grounded can still get the plat.
This sin't a sacrifice made for the sake of 60FPS. It's an upgrade made because not all the cycles were working hard when you set the game to 30FPS.
It was a feature included when they decided to do the 30FPS lock, not a feature omitted when they decided to aim for 60 (and let it be said that they've always said 'aims for' and not 'holds' 60)
@rastamadeus Nah, I think it's that TT have decided that they'd rather make stories with dialog/action choices rather than actual point-and-click games.
IMO this is a very good thing. After 4, I imagine Hardline probably would have launched just as buggy if they hadn't pushed it back. Especially since it's only a year later.
I get the feeling that this'll be no more than perks, weapons and hats. I don't think they'll be doing more maps, unless there's maybe a Left Behind-themed pack.

Anyone else seeing the irony here?

Any time frame of when the review'll be up (for Alien)?
It comes out in around a couple days here - by then or after then?

Re: Telltale's The Walking Dead, Er, Walks onto PS4 on 24th October
I highly doubt this'll be fixed much at all.
The problems are problems with the aging TellTale Tool engine, not the hardware.

Re: The Last of Us Remastered Reloads with Two Treacherous Territories on PS4
The downside to these being in the normal map rotation is that they haven't come up for voting in any match I've played since they came out.

I still think this'll be the darkest one, even if that doesn't mean it'll be all that dark, especially beside TLoU.

As long as Nathan Fillion gets to be Nathan Drake, I don't have much preference for these movies.

Which is a take i can get behind.
Re: Review: The Walking Dead: Season 2, Episode 4 - Amid the Ruins (PlayStation Network)
Reviewers are saying this is a bit of a lull like TWAU Ep 4, but I really liked this episode, I thought it was up there with TT's best.
