@Anchorsam_9 I must say that the way the all the harsher colors very briefly popped during an explosion was incredibly cool. Best explosions since GTAV I reckon.
Just Cause 3 has some great ones too but they're too frequent to leave the same impression.

It's definitely one of the better games that uses the Ubisoft open world design document, but it's still very much open world 101.

Yeah, Syndicate's is pretty damn good.

Like if Nate's themes 1-3 are Imperial March then this version 4 is whatever the hell music plays when Luke asks Uncle Owen if he can go pick up some power converters.

When you get a massive orchestra you have to be careful to still have that whistle-able melody front and center or the whole piece will just become a background element.

Not in NZ. All we got here was a trailer that we'd already seen for Civil War and a new trailer for, perhaps fittingly, Temuera Morrison's (Jango Fett) new NZ movie.

Considering that Kojima had a non-compete until like two days ago, we're unlikely to see anything from him for at least two years, and even then it'll be another year after that before it actually comes out.

While I agree with the article, I don't know if it was worth the effort to write it.
Sure, you can analyse and explain why a CoD campaign sucks from a narrative standpoint, but it's a given that most players who would care about an article like this innately recognize why anyway.

I'm glad they left in some unflattering pop-in. It shows this is actually in-engine and in a game like this it's fair enough.

On the one hand this looks like it's cheapening some stuff (like El Dorado by making it basically a grenade, or Lazaravic and Marlowe by making them playable characters).

On the other UC3's MP (not to mention TLoU's) was fantastic so I can't wait to play.

@Gamer83 AC2 was a great game but I'd hesitate to say it holds up now.
AC4's still great though. That's probably the best entry point now with the possible exception of Syndicate.

@get2sammyb It's worth nothing that, if a credit card fails for any reason 3 times, whether it's the buyer's fault or Sony's, you can't use that credit card for at least a week, sometimes 10 days, for security reasons.

So a lot of people will not only be not giving Sony money now, but also not giving Sony money over the next week.

Only Nolan North could stand there in a suit like that with a pose like that and look badass.

This looks okay for what it is but entirely off from the original storytelling.
Ratchet was not a boy scout in the original. He liked Captain Quark's radio show, yes, but he was a reluctant hero and kind of an ass.

I htink the problem is that GTAV did the 'all things to all people' thing so well that something like Ass Creed just looks like it's trying too hard.

Just Cause 3 and Wild Hunt fill specific niches that would be worse off if they weren't open-world. All the other games mentioned could be linear and not really suffer apart from length and how much sheer stuff they could haphazardly chuck in.

Having story DLC to a game that is supposed to end a story-focused series makes it likely that it'll be a prequel or otherwise largely removed from however UC4 ends.
It's incredibly unlikely that we'll be playing as Nate in a time chronologically after UC4's base ending.

The last few times I hoped this would happen (Last of Us Remastered, Last Guardian) I was completely wrong, so I'm going to go with no.

Maybe try to play some more Witcher 3. There's absolutely no chance of getting even half way done before the DLC comes out thought.

UC3 has a terribly uncohesive story, but all the rest of it is fantastic.

It sounds like it's on par with Metal Gear Rising for combat depth but worse than that game in all other aspects.
Still, MGR's a high bar to reach and I'm still looking forward to getting my preorder.

It's pretty cool how the eye can detect such a slow zoom. At least, mine can.

@get2sammyb Did you get far enough to try out Uncharted 3's new cheats? Mirror mode and such? That's the big draw for me since that was the biggest sign UC3 was rushed.

I dunno if I'll be able to hold off one buying this once the beta starts.

I dunno. Tearaway on Vita was one of very few great games based around hardware gimmicks, and the PS4 version loses a lot in translation with the more limited controller. Tapping the back touch to activate the drumskins is way more satisfying than pressing the touch pad for some reason.
