Ready at Dawn's track record is small but great, and they were able to do amazing things on the PSP, so I at least hope that 1886 will show us what the PS4 can do in terms of graphics.
It's already in the same tier as Naughty Dog for me.
Infamous was better than Uncharted (although not better than TLoU), and Sly was better than Jak, IMO.
Insomniac is the other one that's up there, but they've made poor choices recently and only R&C keeps me coming back to them. And Into The Nexus is their last chance with that series, too.
@get2sammyb Can I just clarify about the reflection thing... So, Delsin can look into a puddle, which will reflect his image, and at the right angle a shiny car's paint will reflect this puddle and the reflection currently displayed in it?
It's R&C: Nexus in EU regions. Also, that $30 price tag worries me. Nothing was said about a reduced length when compared to the other 'full' R&C games, but at that price... Then again, Sly 4 was $40, right?
Something from Naughty Dog, I don't care what it is (Uncharted 4, TLoU DLC info/sequel, new IP, Jak 4) If I get that, then I'm good. And it will no doubt mean I put down a pre-order for PS4.
I have to disagree with the review's statements about story. It's not the story that's worth reflecting on, it's the (almost) lack of one. The game is more or less trying to point out to you that you're happy to go around killing dudes without any reason given.
I don't think any mass-market shooter could ever top Spec Ops in terms of story, but I'm very much hoping I can be proved wrong, since I enjoyed Spec Ops so much.
"When we're talking about a new engine, we're talking about upgrading significant systems within in that engine – we're not talking about throwing it all away and saying we're starting from the ground up," animation lead Zach Volker told Official PlayStation Magazine, adding that it’s “impossible to develop a new engine from the ground up in a two year cycle”.
Well, maybe (just thinking out loud here), it's a remote possibility that you could NOT release a CoD on schedule every single year and instead take a year off to develop a new engine? It's gonna have to happen eventually, as in a couple CoD's time (sorry, couple years) they won't be coming out on PS360 - the consoles that the engine is acceptable on - any more.
YEAAH. obligatory on-topic comment On-topic, Blood Dragon was the best $20 I've spent on the PSN since... I dunno... The Sly Collection, maybe? Since that was quite a while ago, FC:BD is decidedly awesome.
@get2sammyb It's out now in Europe, I think, assuming New Zealand falls under 'Europe' like it does with Nintendo.
It's... playable.
I think the best way to put it is that it takes a 7/10 game (IMO) and makes it a 5/10 game with shoddy porting and general unpolishedness. The quality gameplay shines through at times, and then it is buried under slowdown when things get hectic.
If the Vita was the only system you had to play FFA on, I would say it wouldn't be worth buying until a sale/PS Plus.
(But the comments section probably isn't for reader reviews )
Also, I'm a tad annoyed that EU is getting Deadlocked HD later. It's sitting there on the NA PS Store taunting me.
Those links are a little screwey... Are you guys going to review the Vita version of Full Frontal Assault? A little off-topic, I know, but I think your readers have a right to know that t's one of the shoddiest ports ever.
It also says that there's a new map and game mode coming, but I think the online is already lacking the numbers of players necessary to continue updating it.

Re: Weirdness: This Simpsons Style The Last of Us Art Is Excellent
That bloater may be even more horrific than the actual ones in the game.
Re: Thief Rises from 25th February on PS4 and PS3
@Splat Uhh... you've played in first-person in Thief for three games now, why should this one be different?
Re: Talking Point: What Are Your Hopes and Fears for the PS4, PS3, and Vita at GamesCom?
Give me anything from Naughty Dog and I'll buy day 1. AS it stands, I'm waiting at least until Second Son.
Re: Sony Depicts the Visual Progression from PSone to PS4
Hey look, Black and Disruptor!
Also the R&C in that video is Tools of Destruction, not CiT.
Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 Expansion Ushers the Apocalypse
I'll be honest... Origins looks cool. Perhaps it'll be the only other good zombies map in BOII since Nuketown.
Re: Not in the Killzone: Mercenary Beta? Watch These Videos
Gunshots seem too quiet in Vita FPSs so far. This is a step in the right direction, but still...
Re: Talking Point: Do You Intend to Buy the PS4's Camera?
In a word: Eventually.

Re: inFAMOUS: Second Son Brings Car Crash Entertainment to PS4
I love how the particles' colours are affected by shadows that are being cast onto them. That level of detail shows how committed SP is.
Re: You'll Learn About The Last of Us' First DLC Pack This Month
I'm fairly sure ND has already said the SP DLC will be coming first...
Re: Opinion: Sony Must Refresh the PS4's Momentum at GamesCom
If there's a new ND game announced I'll buy a PS4 as soon as that comes out, otherwise I'll wait until inFamous: SS

Re: Sony to Hog the GamesCom Spotlight on 20th August
New next-gen Naughty Dog game plzkthnx.
Re: Review: Stealth Inc: A Clone in the Dark (PlayStation Network)
Aww, don't censor my comments! That was the whole point
Re: Mark Cerny Wasn't Joking When He Said the PS4 Won't Overheat
I wanna know how loud it is when operating. The Super Slim, for all it's problems, is probably the quietest system I own, excluding handhelds.
Re: Review: Stealth Inc: A Clone in the Dark (PlayStation Network)
OH MY GOD! THEY KILLED THE ORIGINAL NAME!
YOU B*******S!
Re: Ratchet & Clank Writer Goes Commando, Departs Insomniac Games
So he wrote everything past UYA?
Ehh... they can always get the original writer back.

Damn there's a lot of links in that article.
Like 50% of it is blue.
Re: Someone Purchased a PS4 Pre-Order for Over $850
Thankfully New Zealand's too poor to buy more PS4s than it will be allocated
Re: Sucker Punch: Impossible Dreams Are Now Possible on PS4
@Stuffgamer1 We'll have to agree to disagree on that one

Re: Talking Point: When Will the PlayStation 4 Release?
Well, I won't be buying until Infamous Second Son is very close to release, and before that I'll probs get a Wii U for Sonic Lost World.

Deslin's beanie looks really good in that top screenshot
Re: UK Sales Charts: The Last of Us Survives a Fifth Week at the Top
Get it right, PSquare! That artwork of Ellie is from before the redesign! She doesn't even look like that! fanboy rage

If so, THAT is the next-gen right there
Re: Preview: Sending Smoke Signals in inFAMOUS: Second Son, the Hottest Exclusive on PS4
@acdramon No, aren't they the same person from timelines with different events? SPOILERS... oops, too late
Re: Feature: How a Jaded Child Set the Stage for PS3 Exclusive Puppeteer
That's called average-child-ADD.
It's not a problem the industry needs to address.

Re: The Last of Us Trots Past 3.4 Million Sales Globally
I'm conflicted. I feel like I should have been buying such a great game new, but I already have a second-hand copy.
I won't be buying it again, but you know what I mean.
I suppose I'll give my money to ND through the Season Pass, then.
Re: Expect Plenty More PlayStation 4 Announcements at GamesCom
@Jaz007 That's an... odd situation you're in there.
Nothing wrong with not being 18, though. Assuming that's what you meant.

Re: Review: The Last of Us (PlayStation 3)
Hay, you guys gonna review Fuse?
I'm waiting on the penultimate/quintessential verdict!
Re: First Impressions: Is The Last of Us' Multiplayer Mode Worth Surviving?
Meh. Single-Player for me. And even then, I'll have to buy DLC because it has SP DLC, apparently.
Re: The Last of Us' Demo Doesn't End Where You Think It Does
Meh.
Re: Titillating Killer Is Dead Footage Applies Its Beer Goggles

Re: Rayman Legends Prances onto PlayStation Vita in New Trailer
Also, I was hoping the PoP costume would be cool, but... meh.
Re: Rayman Legends Prances onto PlayStation Vita in New Trailer
I'm hoping for some kind of cross-play, so that the PS3 version can emulate the Wii U's gamepad features.

@get2sammyb Screenshots of which? FFA Vita or Deadlocked?
Because they're polar opposites in terms of graphics quality
Re: Brighten Up Your Far Cry 3 Maps with Blood Dragon Assets Add-On

TOO LONG.
