My other favourite irksome issue is when doing downloads. A game is playable after part downloading, the Pause download button gets replaced by the Play button so my muscle memory opens the game instead of pausing the download. Argh!
Shots fired! Doesn’t bode well for this considering its launch is so close. I honestly didn’t enjoy the demo shown at Ubisoft’s showcase, found it was really slow and uneventful with lots of pointless walking and ship travel.
@JamieO Great list Jamie! I can’t argue with your top pick, it’s an excellent game. It’s also good to see you’re enjoying some other smaller titles like Revita, it was definitely overlooked.
@Jaz007 it’s not necessary to but I would highly recommend it. There are a lot of story points I wouldn’t have picked up on had I not played the first game.
@MFTWrecks The physics and handling feel pretty much identical to the first game, which is no bad thing. Occasionally there is some erratic behaviour with the vehicle collision but for the most part it is solid. Yes you can still stray off course, this is mainly so you can utilise shortcuts and cut long corners instead of drifting them. I’d say there’s more areas to go off course this time around since the additional terrain areas don’t have sides to the track instead it’s just marked out with cones.
@Colour it’s definitely longer than the first game, we ended up with just over 40 hours on our first playthrough, exploring most areas. Obviously this may be shorter for others since they may explore less and there’ll also be guides out to follow by release. Also I’m sure it’s completable in 10-15 hours if you straight line the main objectives and ignore most of the enemies but where’s the fun in that.
@sketchturner @CWill97 @Truegamer79 Just to clear this up. There are a few examples of the unfair boss fights throughout, the moose being the main one. I say they are unfair since damage to the boss has to be dealt indirectly via the other enemies and this mechanic requires a lot more luck than it did skill. I spent a good 40-60mins on this single boss and it was very infuriating as it ruined the fast pacing of the rest of the game. I can also confirm it’s not because “the reviewer just couldn’t hack it cause they stink” as I saw this game through to its conclusion and even hopped back in to unlock all the secrets and collectibles for the platinum.
@Jaz007 I’ve just double checked and there is no headset haptic feedback and there is no option to turn it on in the game settings either. I don’t know how this YouTuber can claim there is.
@skaarj217 I believe that those that own the standard edition are able to pay for a $10 upgrade to the Tourist edition which then has the free upgrade packaged for free. Hope this helps.
@antdickens Don’t know if this has been asked already but is there any plan to add a subscription button to the Profile Settings page? As it’s a pain trying to find this article since it’s now been buried by other news articles
@JP80 you can play solo however the empty slots in your squad will auto fill with AI, that happen to be very competent and useful, especially when you need reviving.
@riceNpea The gunplay is honestly very solid with a good variety of weapons to choose from, pistols, shotguns, assault rifles, sub machine guns, etc. As for reloading the game gives you the option for a manual reload that allows you to remove and replace individual clips into your guns or the alternative is auto reload where you tap the X button to release the empty clip and then tap the gun against your ammo bag which is around your waist. As for the feel of the guns, each one has a very different weight and feel to shooting them since both the haptic feedback and adaptive triggers are in use here. Hope this helps.
@Marzipan57 I’m pretty sure on the PS5/PSVR2 version it saves after each floor and then you can return to that checkpoint when you return to the game. I think the devs are looking into having a more thorough save system but they are yet to announce anything on that.
@LeeHarveyOzgod I would say the difficulty ramps up pretty well during the campaign, I didn’t start feel overwhelmed until the final few levels. It is all about good time management and not accepting orders too quickly. Also once you reach a certain point you unlock a difficultly setting as well that allows you to pick easy, medium or hard.
@gbanas92 I had no issues with the hand tracking at all whilst playing. Im not entirely sure if it’s been improved from the PSVR version since I didn’t get around to trying it.
@Jayslow The game can be played entirely offline but is limited to single player, it’s a shame there isn’t local co-op. Also the game has been out on PC since 2021 and the devs have continued supporting the game with updates therefore the community is quite large and very active so it’s great that PSVR2 has crossplay. I can’t see the community and amount of active players being a problem here at all.
@FuriousMachine playing seated is a very viable option and we spent the majority of our time doing so. The entire game takes place on the virtual tabletop in front of you, other than waving at fellow players, so you don’t need a large space in order for it to work.
@Perturbator I think it would be the same or maybe drop to an 8. The flat version is just as enjoyable but less immersive and has a slightly different control scheme to the PSVR2 version.
