@Col_McCafferty Agreed. Joel was an ***** that only did one good thing simce the outbreak. If the game was set a few years earlier, Joel would have been one of the Hunters you fight in the original game. People say he is good and bad, I disagree. I would apply that to Tommy. While he started off bad, Tommy would go onto help establish a community for everyone to be safe. Joel became a criminal and smuggler. He only cared about himself.
@get2sammyb Take Doom for example, a great game that everyone should play, right? I downloaded it day one on PS4. Yet, when it got announced for Switch, some people were complaining that they weren't paying for a year old game.
Articles like this confuse me. I fully agree that Bloodbourne is a great game and should be played by everyone. It was one of the first games I bought for my PS4. However, in the impossible scenario that the game got ported to Xbox or Switch you would see so many people complaining it was an old game and should be skipped for a newer game. Internet people are weird.
Well, I see Ivy still hasn't gone clothes shopping. I mean, seriously, how much does she have to show? Sure, when I was 14 year old horny loser I would have been undressing her with my eyes, but I'm not 14 anymore. At least she looks fun to play as.
Please tell me Activision has no hand in this. Activision always rush Platinum Games and the result is below par. When Platinum get time to properly develop their games, the result is normally amazing.
I tend to agree that games get announced far too early. Death Stranding didn't even have a name or engine when it was revealed for example. Compare Sony's E3 to the last presentation. I was disappointed because a lot of the stuff shown was already announced last year. The Paris Game Week show was so much better than E3 because they brought new announcements.
This is something I like about Nintendo. They don't have massive shows that show games well in advance. Everything that was in the Switch January Direct and slated for release this year, has released this year. People were a bit skeptical on Xenoblade 2 but nope, out Friday. The flip side of that coin is "What about next year" so yes, you do need to give your customers something to anticipate which was Kirby and Yoshi. Even far off releases like Metroid and Pokemon did get mentioned but they didn't cobble together some nonsensical footage. The name alone was enough, like The Last of Us 2 would have been enough.
Ahh, Enchantress, the most annoying DC villain seen in a movie (and I'm including the Helen Slater Supergirl from 1984 in that). Don't care.
Ohh, Atom, yeah, don't care.
Is that a sai? The evil version of Katana? A bit obscure.
WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OMFG YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It sucks we have to get Enchantress and Atom but the Turtles alone is worth the price. They are most certainly DLC characters and not ones cut from the original game.
This is great but it is still mostly Playstation keeping the company on it's feet. Also, they shouldn't get too big a head about Spider-Man Homecoming. It is only after they made a deal for Marvel Studios to use the character that they are seeing money from a Spider-Man movie. Major props to Kaz though, he is doing a good job.
Honestly, without any context, that could have been any game. Nothing about it told me I was watching a trailer for TLOU except the title card. Other trailers that were revealed got me more excited. Detroit was a similarly toned trailer but I liked it more.
I have to agree that this show was much better than E3. I am more excited going forward with my PS4 than I did from E3. Detroit is a game that I loved the first time I saw it but then felt uninterested in it during E3. Now I'm back to loving the game with that new trailer. I actually shed a tear while watching it. Also, Spider-Man showed unscripted gameplay that was all over the earlier footage. It wasn't much but I liked seeing real gameplay.
Highlights for me were Spiderman, Detroit, Shadow of the Colossus and Concrete Genie. God of War concerns me as they seem to have combined Navi and Robin into a child sidekick character that will not shut up. Also, that Last of Us trailer did nothing for me. I'm sure the game will be fun but the trailer was out there.
Three highly anticipated games release on the same day. All full price. One is filled with Microtransactions and loot boxes, the other two are the complete game . The DLC for Wolfenstein actually sounds like DLC and not cut content as well, letting you play as other characters in new locations in the US. I'm going for the complete games. Sorry Ubisoft, no money for you. Now to decide if I want Wolfenstein on Friday or wait for the Switch version.
This weekend, well, I have to put down my PS4 and Xbox controllers because of Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle. Its a new IP so I have to give it a shot. I know it's using old IPs but its the a new IP as much as Smash Bros was a new IP on the N64. I may throw in a bit of Dead Rising 4 if I get bored but I'm set with Mario for at least this weekend.
As an owner of all current machines it is great to see Nintendo getting back to its strengths. A strong Nintendo is great for all gamers, even if you don't play their games. Sony and Microsoft step up their game in response (Sony more than Microsoft so far). Spring is normally a slow time for games as we come down from the winter push of content. For example, would we have seen the amazing Horizon Zero Dawn in March if Nintendo didn't release the Switch in March? Maybe, maybe not.
@Mahe Switch owners are not strapped for content. Yes, there isn't as much content for the Switch compared to the PS4 and Xbox One but Nintendo's release schedule makes sense. Rather than release a bulk of content and have large breaks between releases (like Wii U), they have staggered their first party and partner exclusives so there is at least one large game every month till at least the end of the year while supplementing it with "smaller" titles. There are a lot of great games on the eshop. I got my Switch at launch and I currently have 19 games for it. 19 games in 5 months is pretty good. Especially when I actually want to play the games I bought.
I'm happy I bought that 15 month for 12 month deal not long ago. If Sony gave an indication of why it is increasing the price instead of being completely silent, it might be better received.
Mid what gen? Playstation's gen? Why should any company decide to base their hardware release date on the competitors release date? That is moronic. If the PS5 releases in 2019, that will be two years into the Switch lifecycle and the Switch will have more games available than the PS5.
Also, a design masterpiece? What are you smoking? There were numerous issues with the console at launch. Perhaps you have forgotten them. Screen flickering, disk eject issues, audio and video problems etc. What about using HDR and VR on the Pro? Did you enjoy the 4.50 update? The Xbox One is just as well designed as the PS4, if Microsoft didn't cripple it at the E3 reveal it would be doing better. But since you are fanboying, I can see why you think so.
@Mahe PS4 launched with 24 games, of which only 4 were new titles. The rest were PS3 ports and dual releases. You cannot compare a console under 6 months old with a console that is 4 YEARS old.
@Mahe Do you remember how many games were available for the PS4 and 3/2DS when they came out? The 3DS was heavily criticized for lack of games. The PS4 (and Xbox One) had so many last gen ports in it's first year as well. That is not true any more. And why? The systems have been out for years (PS4 2013, 3DS 2011). The Switch has been out less than half a year. If Sony released the PS5, without backward compatibility, in March, do you think the system would have the same volume of titles as the PS4 has today?
Activision just flipped off everyone who bought Infinite Warfare just to get Modern Warfare Remastered. I'm pretty sure it will still sell well regardless of that.
"The rumour is that the fifth entry in the famous animal slaughtering series will be quite unlike previous instalments, incorporating a large open world and focusing on the Western market. Apparently the game will be a little more accessible than its predecessors, removing timers and making the action much easier to understand."
So, it isn't a Monster Hunter game then. It is a watered down imitation. Why not just make that with a new IP attached?
@oatmealwarrior92 "Im honestly tired of playing MH tied to a portable device in which I constantly need to charge . I just want to sit down relax and play 10 hours straight as I do most games on the weekend "
You are aware you can play the 3DS while the AC Adapter is plugged in, right?
As a Switch owner I will welcome a new PSP for the simple fact that multiplatform games will have to be scaled down a bit which basically opens up the market for Nintendo. Also, the Switch is no competition to the PS4, or Xbox One, but a new portable will give the much needed competition Nintendo need to step up their game.
They have to be counting sales of GTA Online currency in order to stay so high in the charts for so long. The game is great but come on, it can hardly keep outselling brand new games.
If you release a buggy, rushed game, your game deserves to be torn apart. Too many games get released on the release now, fix later mentality. Andromeda may have been made an example of that as people are finally getting tired of this.
@Gold_Ranger Both sides were acting like petulant children over the SNES CD. Sony wanted instant access to all the licenses Nintendo had cultivated and Nintendo under cut the deal by talking to Phillips behind their back during negotiations. Hiroshi Yaumachi was a power hungry leader. It is why Nintendo dominated in the 80s and 90s. I much prefered Satoru Iwata but he didn't have the drive Yaumachi had.
Happy owner of a PS4, Xbox One, and in the morning post, a Nintendo Switch (it better be in the morning post). It is a bit petty but business is business. Sony needs money to survive and along comes a new device that brings in a game that kinda under cut PS4's latest massive release. Sony more so since as a company they aren't doing so good and only really get most revenue from the Playstation section of the company. Also, remember that Horizon already had a release date announced BEFORE the Switch got a specific March 3rd release date. If Sony are petty for lowering their prices, Nintendo are petty for releasing a new console just days after a massive release on PS4. I want to play Horizon but it will have to wait till after I'm done with Zelda. It's my all time favourite game franchise.
I have my PS4 and am eagerly waiting for Horizon: Zero Dawn. However, I did preorder the Switch and I know that on March 3rd, I'll be playing Zelda no matter what stage of Horizon, or any other game I own, I have reached. Even if I didn't buy a Switch, I would have been playing it on Wii U. I want to enjoy Horizon so I would prefer they move it maybe a week earlier. At least a week of play time will feel better for me. Delaying it is not good. I had hoped that Nintendo would have released the Switch and Zelda on the 17th of March. 17 days of Horizon and then Zelda but nope, only four days.
@Matroska love hotels are also used by people who want to be alone with their girlfriend due to the strong family presence in their home. Its weird unless you see it first hand. They aren't just for prostitutes.
Under Hiroshi Yaumachi, I can believe this. Stories of Nintendo in the 80s and 90s are to numerous to deny. Under Iwata though, you would have thought they would change. Which, judging by Cloud in Super Smash Bros might indicate it has.
