This was a 7.5-ish game for me in 2019 when it was launched. I played it back then on Stadia. But now that we are in 2023, the game doesn't feel as fresh, and maybe 6 is fair.
It may have something to do with the atmosphere of the game. They want players to feel lost in the world of the game. Nothing should distract their eyes from the core gameplay. They should find their own way without looking at the map every second. My guess anyways. But I think an overlay map is essential for dungeons, they are mostly too long and sometimes dull. Easy to lose your way.
@Gooseman42 @ROTTIEMAN16 Yeah that's my base case. But Apple can change the playing field when they enter a new market. It'll definitely be a formidable competitor to Oculus for the very least. But thinking about PSVR2, we PS5 owners will definitely go for the PSVR2, but Apple's presence means the casual people who are more interested in VR devices will have more options in the future. If you also consider the way they launch and quickly iterate a better version of their product every year, it might mean incremental lost revenue for Sony in the future. Apple might even decide to support more advanced gaming features in the future. I'd expect anything from them, they have the money and the talent.
@Mauzuri I respectfully disagree. You may not enjoy it. But there are objective standards for great games! So many people don't play souls games, that's fine. But they are amazing genre-defining games. I don't play Nintendo games, I find them very childish. But I always appreciate the top-quality production and breathtaking moments in those games. Some games are objectively great really, even if some of us don't enjoy it, including you and me.
@Otherbarry yeah, I saw it and I see where you're coming from. My guess is, it's not that easy to install that setup. I believe you need to spend another $400-$500, which is as much as buying another console. I mean maybe some people can do it, but I'd like to believe that not many people will deal with the hassle. It's still much easier to hack a PC.
@Otherbarry I mean you can never completely prevent hacking. Hackers always find a way. The science of preventing hacking is basically to make it as difficult as possible. If it's hard enough to hack, that means you have good protection against it. That's why there is a rightful perception that it's easier to cheat on a PC. PCs are made for developing stuff, like hacking software. But consoles are more of a closed systems, making them harder to develop software on them for hackers. Having said that, we'll see how this changes in the future. Hopefully stays the same.
As a PS player, I am always cautious against cross-play with PCs as it's much easier to run cheating software like aim lock on PCs compared to console.
@RubyCarbuncle can't agree more. It's extremely difficult to make open-world games that don't feel boring quickly. RDR2 nailed it, but not everyone can do it.
Years ago I played the first game until a point. Then somewhere in the middle, I rage quit. But I always appreciated the game. I'm excited about the reimagining!

Re: Resident Evil 4: Separate Ways (PS5) - Ada Wong Fronts More Sublime RE Action
It's not even like a DLC, it's the second half of the game, almost like playing RE2 with the second character. So good.
Re: Patapon Spiritual Successor Ratatan Is a Fan's Dream Come True in Debut Trailer
Amazing news!

Re: Round Up: What Was Announced at Summer Game Fest 2023?
It was worse than PS showcase
I guess there were no new game announcements that were ready. We should not forget Geoff delivered Elden Ring before

Re: Oculus Founder Palmer Luckey 'Blown Away' by PSVR2
It'll definitely sell better than the PSVR. My question is what will Apple's rumored VR/AR device be like and how it'll change the game if it does?
Re: Sinister Fishing Adventure Game Dredge Sets Sail for 2023 Release on PS5, PS4

Re: New PS5 Firmware Update Is Available for Download Now
@hypnotoad sir, do you have a Twitter account? I'm a fan of your sense of humor!
And no, there is absolutely not enough tea in a bubble tea. Also, I don't need bubbles in my mouth.
Re: 'Huge, Story-Driven' Assassin's Creed Infinity Is Not a Free-to-Play Game, Says Ubisoft
Of course Ubisoft will keep trying on a "huge online" game. That's where most of the money is...

Re: Poll: Did You Buy Deathloop?
I'm not motivated to buy this as I know that it'll be free in a year from now in gamepass.
It's definitely not a day one must-play title. There is unnecessary hype.
Re: There's Now a Teaser Trailer for Next Week's PlayStation Showcase
I'm totally expecting them to tease a brand new IP for the first time.
Re: Black Myth: Wukong Returns, Looks Utterly Jaw-Dropping in New Gameplay Video

Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Games for August 2021?
I guess they have to throw a bad month every now and then. Games are expensive people! And Sony is no Microsoft.
Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Games for August 2021?
@nessisonett haha exactly! Never seen such negative poll results here.
Re: Sony Issues Sales Updates for Major PS5 Games, Most Exceed One Million

They teased Dead Space, that alone made it pretty great for me.
Re: PS Store Summer Sale Brings the Heat on 21st July
@Futureshark +1
Re: Jim Ryan Says Players Only Remember the Best Games
@Mauzuri It's not about enjoying, It's about acknowledging it's a great game. You can acknowledge something that's great without enjoying it.
Re: Jim Ryan Says Players Only Remember the Best Games
@Mauzuri by the way, I didn't enjoy Last of Us 2. But I think it deserved to be the best game of the year.

Re: Demon's Souls Documentary Is an Hour Long Deep Dive into PS5 Remake
Even after all this time, I still can't believe how good this game looks. It's really hard to go back and play DS1 or DS2 after this.
Re: Demon's Souls Documentary Is an Hour Long Deep Dive into PS5 Remake
@Futureshark summon help. It took me about 10 tries although I summoned help every time. I think it's the hardest boss. The rest aren't that hard.
Re: PS5 Console Exclusive Ghostwire: Tokyo Delayed to Early 2022

@ThePizzaMule yeah that's true btw.
Re: PS Plus August 2021 Games Include Hunter's Arena: Legends on PS5, PS4
Sony, if you have to give a multiplayer game, at least don't give a battle royale.
Re: Mini Review: The Procession to Calvary (PS4) - Absurd Point and Click Adventure Is Funny and Brilliantly Unique
Looks amazing. I'll buy it today to support the developers. We need more games like this.

Of course, Elden Ring votes will double the nearest rival.

What I understand is that you will have the option to only get 'phantoms', 'death blood stains', and 'messages' from your selected group of friends.
