Re: PSVR2 Sense Controllers Aren't Working for Some Early Adopters

gdog989

@Toypop Thanks for sharing how you got through to Sony Support - I did almost the same as you - I went to a troubleshooting link for psvr2 hardware, then kept clicking “no that didn’t fix it” - & eventually it gave a phone no..Unfortunately the person didn’t tell me to get a refund via the Order Lookup site, but said the only way was thru PSD LiveChat, which has been broken 99.9% of the time.

If the replacement has any issues, I won’t even bother contacting support - I’ll go straight to the order page & either do a refund, or replacement - which thankfully once you know how to do it, is very easy.

Thanks again for sharing your experience, hopefully this will help others get any issues sorted out as efficiently as possible.

@Toypop That’s pretty much my situation too - I’ll be boxing it up this weekend & sending it back on Monday.

Also, thanks for letting us know that yours didn’t come with label covers too, & yes every other VR headset I’ve had (Vive, Quest1&2) had those covers (strangely I can’t remember if the Psvr1 had them). Cheers

@Yozora146_ Hi, I have a similar issue - it looks like a scratch on the right lens that discolors all the pixels just below the center/right

A question for everyone - Did your Psvr2 come with plastic lens protectors that peel off? Mine didn’t - & maybe that’s the cause of the issue, but it looks like it might be a bit of dust inside. Also, I don’t recommend anyone store their headset in the box - the material is very flaky & sticks to it.

Additionally, I want to share that trying to get support for this via PlayStation Direct has been next to impossible - forget about right Sense controller, damaged lens, etc - there should be a news article about how hard it is to get support & then how bad the support is, once you get through. Eg, when I did eventually get through using the PSDirect live chat, I said I needed to get a replacement or refund - the person then automatically started a return request without my permission (which I can’t undo) & I was disconnected (which could’ve been due to high traffic).

Anyway, I don’t know what I’ll do now, trying to get through to support takes forever & you seem to get disconnected v.quickly. Also, there is NO other way to contact them by phone or email - you MUST use the chat for things bought from PSDirect (which means all Psvr2s). I’ll try to get them to cancel the return they did without permission, then get a refund & order from somewhere where you can actually get through to support, like Amazon when they’re available there.

Finally I’d like to say I do enjoy psvr2, RE8 & GT7 are excellent & if/when I get a working replacement, I’d love to play more games. Thanks for reading, wishing you all the best 😺🐬🚀

Re: Soapbox: I Tried So Hard to Like Elden Ring, But I Just Couldn’t Do It

gdog989

I agree that Elden Ring can be very frustrating.

Many praise its combat, but I found it laggy, eg You have to press the roll button way before an incoming attack. This is also the same for regular attacks, especially jumping strong attacks - you have to press the buttons a lot earlier than when you see the enemy is vulnerable. The worst is when you’re on horseback, when you quickly tap the fast attack button, it takes over a second to come out! I think the heavy attack (even if u just tap it) on horse takes about 3secs!

Because of the laggy controls, I couldn’t just play the game, I would have to learn how enemies attacked, etc, so I could press the roll button/attack buttons earlier than I would normally. Also, I feel a lot of the bosses are artificially difficult. Ie, you have to hit them dozens of times more to kill them, whereas they can often 1shot you. They also have insane range, & are quicker - I’ve lost count of the number of times I made a boss miss, go in to attack, only to have them jump 20ft back!

I remember reading somewhere, someone saying that the bosses get all the cool moves & get to have all the fun, whereas the player is slow & has to rely on rolling & jump strong attacks. Obviously, rolling & jump attacks don’t look anywhere near as cool as what the bosses do..

Hst, I love the atmosphere of ER. I haven’t heard anyone say this, but I think it has some of the best skyboxes in any game I’ve played so far. A lot of the bosses are incredible visually, & move v.fluidly, & there are soo many! I really appreciate the work it took to make this game, & with a few refinements, I think it would be a classic - mainly in making the controls more responsive, giving players more moves other than rolling+jump attacks, & making the bosses fairer.

Re: Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium Lineup Leaks, Has a Ton of Crossover with Capcom Fighting Collection

gdog989

Hi, will be double dipping - mainly coz the lag/audio glitches for SF 30th Anniversary are pretty bad, & this should be fixed with this. Also looking forward to playing games I’ve never played properly like the Dark Stalkers series.

Of course it would be great if Capcom could unify all these arcade games in One launcher, instead of several titles where you have to remember which contains which.

Also, would love it if Capcom would release the best home version of the games like SF Alpha2 Gold / Alpha3 Max, etc. At least with SF6 looks like they’ll be a proper single player/world tour mode, & even some street fighting..! 😺🎮👊🚀

Re: Dreamcast Classic Space Channel 5 Struts to PSVR Soon

gdog989

Cool 😎 I used to take my Saturn to a mates house with all cables, and lighguns and we used to have a blast! At home, I’d play VC2 with my fav tracks from the Matrix OST, and by the time I finished the game and the end credits would roll, Wake Up would be playing 🌅

Re: Serious Sam Collection Seemingly Screaming to PS4

gdog989

@dark_knightmare2 I’ve played the first 2, and v.recently completed the 1st game in VR (aiming the guns is so fun!) The 1st one is the best imo (I love the Egyptian atmosphere and love the music!), but I haven’t completed the 2nd game, or even played the 3rd yet. The gameplay is simple and arcadey which I love 💖 & SS has some cool Duke-ish one liners 😎

Re: PSVR Passes Three Million Units Milestone

gdog989

This is great news! I bought the PS4 when Horizon Zero Dawn came out, and was very happy to see it support VR - It’s the main reason I’m not investing in Xbox1

I love VR! Not just for native games like Farpoint, SkyrimVR, etc, but also games like Redout, Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom3, etc. I was playing Evil Within 2 with FPS mode on, & it was so good with the VR headset

Re: Review: SEGA Mega Drive Classics (PS4)

gdog989

Just like to leave a link to a vid that talks about this collection & also past Sega collections - https://youtu.be/b1ulA75lVgg Also, even with the sound bugs, I am enjoying these games now, although I’d still really appreciate the sound being improved. Finally, there could be a VR update for this game on PS4, due to the Steam version being updated to support VR

Re: Review: SEGA Mega Drive Classics (PS4)

gdog989

@Dange indeed, I watched many YouTube reviews, and 1 of the main reasons I bought the game was coz several reviewers said - the games all look, sound and play right. Clearly the sound is broken, not just sound fx, but also music (just let the title/intro music play, & it’ll start to sound weird after a bit - I tested SOR2, & Golden Axe1)

I was never a big Sonic fan, but I think I did read somewhere (maybe on the Steam forum) someone say exactly what you’re describing, calling it input lag. Either way I can’t play the games as is, the broken sound is too annoying & totally ruins the experience for me.

@get2sammyb I totally agree with @Dange that the review should be updated to reflect the release version, and if possible Sega contacted to see if/when they can fix these issues.

Thanks for reading, wishing you all the best

Re: Review: SEGA Mega Drive Classics (PS4)

gdog989

@Dange you’re not the only one to notice this, just one of the few to notice on the main review sites. The steam version of the game has a forum topic that has recent posts commenting on the broken sound too (scroll down to see the recent 1s) - https://steamcommunity.com/app/34270/discussions/0/357284767255892425/?ctp=2.

I don’t know if the reviewers got a different version of the game, or just don’t know how the original’s sounded (although some of the sounds are so bad, I don’t know how anyone couldn’t notice), but v1.01 sounds are broken. Here’s a 20sec YouTube clip which shows it - https://youtu.be/uPV6zDrncKY - I really hope Sega fix this..
