I still don't think this game is finished, I read somewhere that there were 8 more unfilled DLC character slots when Aftermath came out, sounds like they've filled 3 of them, could be another 5 coming before we get the most komplete edition?

Mortal Kombat 12 will probably be out by the time I decide to buy this game when it's hopefully complete!

I reckon they might give away that destruction all stars game if that's the one I'm thinking of that has microtransactions. Kind of makes sense that sort of game being on plus for them if they can recoup the costs through mtx

@lacerz ah cheers! Yeah I was sort of aware that it had released in other regions in 3D, I was thinking of picking one up (and venom) when (or indeed if) I eventually go on holiday I suppose. Not sure if they released the two MCU spider man films in 3d over here in the UK just to match the rest of the MCU releases. I know this was Fox but Dark Phoenix didn't get a 3D blu ray over here either which is a real shame as I quite enjoyed that movie! Also Predator 4 (it's rubbish but I got to have a complete collection 😅).

Apart from spider verse, the only other film I thought was actually better in 3D that didn't get a 3d blu ray was mission impossible 6. The film was much better than 5 but somehow the 2d version is less grainy and pretty than the 3d version

I wish into the spider verse got a 3d blu ray release, it was great in 3d!

@MJKatana nintendolife did the calculations in their review and it was shocking. I think they said they got 66k battle coins playing what they did for the review and worked out it would cost something like 770,000 battle coins to get everything in the game, 240k of that for the characters alone. Check their review for the accurate numbers. I think that was for what is currently available too, I don't think it included the DLC but I might be wrong

But glad you are enjoying it! I'd like to try it some day, but probably at a steep discount!

Great write up, had me laughing until the end but I'm sad you had to put yourself through this game to entertain me. Shame this game is rubbish, a light wrestling game would be perfect to get me back in to the genre but those blood sucking mtx really turn me off. Maybe if it goes down to a pound in the sale like NBA 2k20 almost did.

I've said this before and I know it's so unlikely but it would be awesome if netherealm made a full console version of their WWE Immortal game. (I think it was called that, maybe it was WWE Icons or something)

I'm a bit out of touch with Harry potter these days. I've read the books and seen the films but don't really follow whatevers going on in the universe that keeps potter fans excited to this day.

Will it have SmartLid® ? Where you close your eyes and can see the UI on the back of your eyelid. Input is recorded through retina, cornea and iris responses. The brightness has been an issue, perfectly fine when you close your eyes on a sunny day but QA testers have ended up deleting their saves in a dark room with no backlight

This article actually made me start up splinter cell 1 again, going to have a full playthrough of all the games now, including the ones missed (next gen version of double agent, essentials, conviction and blacklist). The original one still looks great in HD but I think my eyes have become adjusted to this generation because the frame rate leaves a lot to be desired!

The hd collection on PS3 was playable in 3d on a 3d TV. I don't think there's a workaround to connect it to psVR though

Tony hawk's might be because of the controller, I would've got the Xbox version because I have a one X and a standard PS4 but I got the PS4 version in the end because of the d-pad

I think somehow, contrary to what others have said, my muscle memory has remained intact for this game. I opened it up and was pulling off 200k combos right away. Quick tip for everyone is that when you are in a manual or grind, you can change the style loads in quick succession by mashing the top 3 face buttons, I think for manuals ∆∆, OO, ∆O, O∆, ∆[], []∆ all change the manual and [][] does some sort of flip while you are doing the manual. Racks up the points quickly!

@Quintumply cheers for the write up! I ended up caving and buying it after the review round up posted here on Thursday. I finished the main campaigns and I'll see what else it has to offer. I think this game made me a feel a bit up and down. Up because it's awesome and down because I am still playing the same game I played as a ten year old. Really weird feeling! It's probably because I played these games for months/years back then and I literally just finished it in 2 days this time. I'm going to have a go at some other modes during the week, see what else there is to do on it!

@get2sammyb it's really weird that I've booted up 4 Activision games in the past few years (crash, spyro, CTR and this) considering I haven't touched (for any meaningful amount of time) an Activision game since the original Tony hawks series!

@pip_muzz I think for me (and I know people will disagree), a port is just a straight port, a remaster is like an unlocked port on full settings (some stuff may be changed but overall it's the same) like Turok, star wars episode 1 racer or the PS3 HD collections and a remake is a significant overhaul, either with gameplay or just graphics or both, so I'd classify this (and crash n
Sane trilogy) as a remake because its not just a HD port. A reboot is something that just takes influence from the original but goes in its own direction like Tomb Raider.

Definitely a game I'm interested in when it's a reasonable price!

@SoulsBourne128 well he's not really known for it to be honest! I think war time is a bit of a different bag. I didn't mean to correct you or anything, was just adding some info! But generally yeah he's a tactical brawler and shield wielder. I'm pretty sure he avoids killing where possible but the early MCU depiction wasn't afraid to have enemy fatalities. When Bucky took over as Captain America he actually had a gun holstered at his side, it was quite a shocking sight so it does go to show the normal perception of Captain America steve Rogers!

@Stocksy ah damn fair enough, I think it's been dispatched now so I won't bother cancelling. Wish I knew all this Mario news would drop today as I would've waited for a price drop on Tony hawk's! Mario probably won't get a price drop and it looks like it's limited availability anyway so the next few months are going to be expensive 😨

@nessisonett haha nice, yeah it looks pretty accurate from what I've seen in the films escape from Alcatraz and the rock, assuming those films are accurate. I loved/hated that bam margera shopping cart BS, it was pretty hard to do!

My most memorable levels in general, though I can't always remember what games they are from are school, school 2, mall, Marseille, airport, Venice beach, London, zoo, alcatraz, chopper drop, skaters heaven. I'm sure there was an area 51 too and two versions of the hangar/warehouse, the second one had more secret areas

I need to get around to unlocking all the stuff from that latest update. Brilliant game, I haven't played a single game so much as this one in recent times. Though it did mess me up, staying up late on Sunday nights before work to maximise my wumpa time!

It's not just practise and being rusty, toward the end of the old games your characters stats will be so high that your manual and grind balance will barely need adjusting which can make million point combos a lot easier!

Is this the same Dev from the last two games? Did they resolve their issues with their publisher?

It's funny to see him called the young detective though, my favourite Holmes is Jeremy Brett and he was pretty old by the time that series finished. And of course there's Ian Mckellens Mr. Holmes, I don't think you can get older than that haha. (Unless rathbone's Holmes aged in real time when they shifted his movies from Victorian to war time)

Edit: I see this a Holmes begins type outing so I guess young detective makes sense!

I think they look quite cool actually. They're still not games that I would play but the update definitely feels more modern even if it's in kind of a retro (but not EA like) style

I wonder how many passes they are planning for this, calling the season pass a year one pass makes me think there will be more than one. Could be quite pricy!
