I just gone mine. Didn't know anything about it until I had a notification through the app. I was expecting a theme or something so it was a lovely surprise tbh
Finished TLOU2 last night. 30 something hours. I avoided all the chatter and spoilers, so I was finally able to go online and find out why people are so incensed because it honestly wasn't obvious to me... I've concluded that (in my opinion) the reasons listed are absolutely ridiculous.
I thought it was a genuine masterpiece, and had zero issue with any of the bones of contention. It was mature, thoughtful, and like any great story full of lots of grey areas. Its also come at a pertinent point in human history, where the issue of "us" and "them" has never been more of a problem.
Jumped right back in on NG+. So that's my weekend sorted.
@rockertherockgod gone into limbo. He says he's still working on it but it wouldn't surprise me if its dismantled at some point and incorporated into another project.
@Paranoimia yeah buddy, no beef. I would have been disappointed if it was just PvP so I was happy to see single player confirmation. I was pointing it out in case it made a difference for you ✌
Sounds impressive. Is missing collectables something easily done though if it's a sprawling expanse? I'm someone who likes to meticulously comb when I play, and judging by the sound of this I may be stuck in the areas for a while...
Mad excited. I've avoided the spoilers and can't wait for the final product. I might do another play through on 1 whilst I'm waiting... it's not like I'm going anywhere.
@nessisonett you and me both, brother. Regular routine and exercise still can't offset feeling like crap after being stuck in for 7 weeks. We'll get there, my man. One day at a time.
@LieutenantFatman yeah man, like the above said; I finally took the plunge a few weeks ago as I was tired of waiting. Definitely worth the cash. No question at all.
Thanks for this, chaps. I've been ISO for 3 weeks now with four little ones... this makes things a hell of a lot simpler. Not all heroes wear capes, brothers. Stay safe x
To the people excited for Control; you're in for a treat.
I picked it up (and several cases of beer) just before Xmas as a holiday treat to chip away on in the evenings. Brilliant game. Really surprised me. Take the time to watch the videos and read the documents you find, they really add a ton of depth to the world.
@get2sammyb 100% in agreement with this. I'm fair less inclined to finish a game from PS Now or Game Pass because of ease of access. If something doesnt immediately grab me I move to something else. If I pay £50 for a title I feel far more obligated to push it to make sure I'm getting my money's worth.
@Futureshark I don't understand it either. I've just subbed a month for a quid and knocked it off straight away. For the next 4 weeks though I'll play Outer Worlds and Gears 5 at a minimum, and then leave them be. That's £80-£90 they've lost, and that's just me. I know a few mates who open new XBL accounts habitually to take advantage of the £1 joining fee... where is the money actually coming from for them to be profitable?
I was curious about this but wanted to see it running before I looked to queue. From what I could gather it was housed inside one of those cargo containers and was out of sight, which didnt fill me with confidence. Despite being a huge fan of the franchise I decided to skip it.
@ShogunRok oh yeah 100%; HG completely pulled the lead out and cracked on. And that clearly shows in the product. I'll be REALLY surprised if either Fallout or Anthem pull it back though, given their dwindling populations. The constraints they're under are very different, and they have my sympathies.
I've been tempted by a cheap copy of Anthem a few times now, but hasn't its playing population shrunk down to bugger all now? I mean, I'm all for the game getting better, but from what I've seen it just seems like a lost cause now. Anthem and Fallout rely on a repeat, online gaming presence. NMS doesn't.
@Amplified true, but I'm one of the few people in the world who doesn't have a functioning PC. I did, and it was a good 'un too, but it died and I've never bothered to fix it. It sits in the corner of my bedroom, a broken husk and depressing reminder of my inherent laziness.
I'm glad this coming to PS4. One if my gripes from MS's show (asides from it spending 15 minutes trying to sell me Game Pass...) is that it was hugely unclear what was MS exclusive and wasn't.
I get that they aren't going to go out of their way to advertise multiplats, but still... every video seemed to start with WORLD PREMIER and GAME PASS DAY 1.
Am I the only one who thinks it's bizarre that they've made a Titanfall game/spin off with no Titans? That was literally the only thing that attracted me to it.
Well, that and wall running, but they've done away with that as well.
Am I the only one that thought the gunshots actually made progressive damage to the tissue? It may have been trickery, but it looked kinda liked that from where I was sat.
@get2sammyb for me to feel compelled to keep playing, I'd say yes. I appreciate how people register or interpret fun is massively subjective. Some people find it in Mario, some in Getting Over It. I think the issue here (and I acknowledge the fault is probably mine), is I went into it expecting something similar to RDR. Which, to be fair, wasn't a completely unrealistic expectation.
To me though, in terms of gameplay, the two are like chalk and cheese. RDR felt like GTA with cowboys. This feels like a whole other degree of realism. I'm not sure if it's bad, but I wasn't expecting it. Which is more than likely why I came away disappointed.
@Amplified I felt pretty alone in sharing your view. It just feels like there's not much actual game here. Start a mission, follow someone for an eternity whilst they talk nonsense, then do something fun for all of 3 minutes before rinsing and repeating. I thought I'd take solice in hunting, but it just feels clunky as hell. Constantly having to click sticks to track is annoying as hell. And having to pitch a camp to craft is so slow and tedious. It just feels like hyper realism dialled up to 11. Is it gorgeous and detailed? 100% yes. Fun? Not really.
@JoeBlogs I think it was the impressions of the dash and presentation being a bit bare bones that did me in... plus I already own most of the games. It was for collecting purposes mostly. Who knows, I may snag one with some Chrimbo moolah.
@naruball see, I was the opposite... having played some recently I thought they looked a bit poo at that time. The stuff in the advert was cleaned up a bit though getting rid of the infamous jaggies. I cancelled me pre order recently because reasons, kinda regretting it now.

Re: Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time Officially Revealed, Coming to PS4 in 2020
Gameplay and aesthetics are very much reminding me of Ratchet... but that's no bad thing mind.

@LiamCroft literally what I said during the reveal...
Re: Sony Issues Official Shot of PS5 Console on Its Side
@NorrinRadd same. I think I'm actually going to have to build a shelf behind the TV specifically for this...

Re: Respawn Bans Over 16,000 Cheaters from Apex Legends, Plans to Add In-Game Report Feature
I don't understand the appeal tbh. If you're cheating isn't it just like shooting fish in a barrel? If there's no challenge, where's the point?

I haven't pre ordered but the demo is sat on my PS4... weird.
