@Mustoe I love Souls-likes games. I have played them all. But i indeed hate From Software games and their (missing) design/no guidance. FS even said on Twitter that only 35% of the Elden Ring players have reached the point needed to start the coming dlc. The missing guidance plays a big part in that.
I (we, the 65%) don't need a exact marker where to go but at least give the game meaning and minimal guidance, like Lords of The Fallen or Lies of P.
The FS games just feel lazy and not done in my opinion.
Of course there are guides for other games, but they are not needed to complete these games. Those are extra. For example you can complete GoW Ragnarok without a guide where to go, the guides for GoW are where to find all collectibles. That's for a different goal.
Most people playing From Software games can't get to the ending without a guide, that's the difference. It's the lack of direction in those games why a guide is needed.
I've never played the original but most reviews write that the ''Canon of Vengeance'' Story is better than the orginal.
Can i start with that (better) Story?
Never played a Trails game before. The gameplay, old blurry (ugly) art style and descriptions in the reviews told me enough.
But! I downloaded this demo yesterday and i must say i like the demo so far (1 hour in).
Especially the 2-way combat system took me by surprise. You can fight normally and Turn Based. Alas on the other hand the game still is blurry/ugly and the opening town looks empty.
@VidaJ I'm all for multiple difficulties because of your reason, everybody wants something different from a game. I personally was bummed out that Hard isn't Hard enough, but i accepted it and are enjoying the game nevertheless!
Game is far too easy on the Hard difficulty. Teammates never get attacked and can always revive you, so because of the infinite revive it has 0 challenge. That also makes upgrading your characters and weapons useless (OP) in Story Mode.
I'm at chapter 9 and never needed a 4 man squad, usually play solo with Gran or with 1 other character. For me that is a big bummer. I would give the game a 7 for now. I really like the art style, combat, story, audio/music and Primal Beast fights.
I'm reading a lot of good thinks about the Endgame content. Hopefully that is going to bring this game to a solid 8.

Re: Black Myth: Wukong's Sales Top 18 Million in Two Weeks on PS5, PC
Stop with the "From S***ware" name dropping. Let it be its own game and dlc.
Re: Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 (PS5) - Grimdark Shooter Is an Instant Co-Op Classic
@Steel76 Indeed, the game is a couple of patches away from buying it 😞
Re: Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 (PS5) - Grimdark Shooter Is an Instant Co-Op Classic
Never played the first game or any other Warhammer game. But this looks like a nice starting point for me.
Edit: after a couple of framerate fixing updates. Framerate tests show that it goes as low as 45fps in Performance mode 😐, not acceptable.
Re: Visions of Mana (PS5) - Classic RPG Series Returns with Good But Flawed Intentions
@ShogunRok You mention frame rate dips in your review. Did you play the game on Quality or Performance mode?
Other sites write thats performance mode is almost a locked 60.
Re: Hands On: Black Myth: Wukong Is Brilliant, But We Have PS5 Concerns
The question of a stable 60fps on PS5 is the difference for me between buying on launch or waiting a couple of weeks with this one.

@LiamCroft Why did the score change from a 8 to a 7? (Couple of hours ago it said 8/10)

Re: Stellar Blade Dev Shift Up Goes Public, Makes a Huge Pile of Money
They deserve a GOTY nomination.
Stellar Blade shall not win it but the nominee itself is a huge honor.
Hope they stay true to themself after going public.

@Mustoe The difference is in the word "needs"

Re: FromSoftware Boss Says Using Guides to Beat Its Games a 'Perfectly Valid Playstyle'
If your game needs a guide to play.....it's a badly designed game.
Re: Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance (PS5) - Combat-Heavy RPG Gets a Major Overhaul
@UltimateOtaku91 My understanding is that you can only lower the difficulty but can't change it back up after.

No 60fps = still no buy
Re: Interview: Capcom on Why Monster Hunter Stories Is Finally Coming to PS4
Hoping it has PS5 enhancements (better graphics, faster loading times and 60FPS)
Re: Preview: Stellar Blade Is the PS5 Exclusive Enthusiasts Have Been Praying For
@get2sammyb A couple of people already asked but how is the Performance (locked 60fps?)
Re: First Rise of the Ronin PS5 Review Score Is Sky-High
@ExReey Multiple previews said it fluctuates
between 50 and 60fps in Performance mode. I'm hoping a day one patch will fix this.
A inconsistent framerate is the only thing that can hold me off buying this day one.
Re: Dragon's Dogma 2 Uncapped Frame Rate Put to the Test on PS5, Preview Build Averages 31fps
No 60fps = No buy
The game looks like a Ps4 game at best, so it isn't pushing the console. I see absolutely no reason this can't be a stable 60fps game.
Re: Final Fantasy VII Rebirth (PS5) - Strong Sequel Seeks a New Direction
@ShogunRok Remake was pretty easy, is it the same with Rebirth?
They should have the option to choose "Hard" from the start
Re: Dragon's Dogma 2 PS5 Demo Is Being Readied, Fans Reckon
@ShogunRok Unstable 60 = No Buy
Re: Dragon's Dogma 2 Will Have an Uncapped Frame Rate on PS5
Uncapped meaning unstable in this case. A unstable framerate is the worst thing for a game to have.
I rather have 3 in-game bugs than an unstable framerate. Right now postponing Banishers for the same reason.
Just give a stable 60fps.
No more, no less.
Re: Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden (PS5) - Storytelling Great Has Gameplay to Match
I'm glad this has scored well.
Hoping to find the patience to wait for a couple of patches, probably not 🥴

It's like a lesser Tales of Arise.
