Sounds great but I prefer sell-through numbers rather than shipping to stores. The game is awesome and absolutely happy to see it and DBFZ in the top spots.
Wooo, can't wait to pick up a copy after work. If anyone needs a hunting buddy, add smo5000. I also have a PS Community going called The Wycademy if anyone wants to join.
"And so many parts of millennial culture, I guess, is being alone in a room. And you lose physical contact with people." So play this game...alone in a room...while losing physical contact with people
Reedus likes to say everything is mind-blowing, he's one of those dudes who uses the word "epic" so much it loses meaning. At least we gleaned a bit of info about the games' setting.
Love the idea and am already putting my free trial to use. People are acting like it'll only get three titles, but the library is pretty sweet right now. I think it's a smart way of subverting used sales while also providing a big convenience for gamers.
If they get 3rd parties to join in with new games, it'll be ridiculous.
Multiplayer/microtransaction games are always going to make more money than singleplayer games, especially with the whole "graphics-first, gameplay-second" movement. Thing is, the market will eventually become smaller and all of the EA's or Ubisoft's will have less customers to market to. With rising 4K/mo-cap costs, good luck Ms. Hennig.
As it stands, they're already tearing their hair out trying to copy Overwatch and PUBG.
If there were a lull in videogame releases, I'd probably be considering this edition. But with SF Collection and FighterZ coming up and the rest of 2018 ahead, I'd rather just skip this.
I got over the MHWorld hype after the first beta. It plays great but just wasn't as exciting for me as before, think I'm over the MH series for a while. Looking forward to the pushsquare and dtoid reviews.
The discounts were great and PS4 is sitting pretty with a killer 2017 release line-up, absolutely deserved. I would've been surprised if full-priced Switch and OneX somehow outsold PS4.
PSVR is doing pretty damn well too, ensuring that it's here to stay.
Great write-up. I really enjoyed my time with the beta (still am) but still taking a "wait and see" approach on release week.
The beta had an always-online connection for singleplayer, hoping that isn't in the official release because I usually take my time with SP quests so I wouldnt be able to suspend the game.
Besides that, what was considered "expert" felt really easy. Maybe it's just "veteran player" talk but I was mopping up Rathalos and all the other monsters in no time.
Overall, really awesome translation to a PS4 game. Having MH in this quality is a dream come true. Capcom is getting dangerously close to "I like their games again!"
I think they need both, which is why we got a much more panel-focused PSX than before. Gamers just shouldn't expect a barrage of announcements every time a developer sneezes.
Sony will have the hardest time because they like to make sure the PS brand gets attention in all their major markets. They need to hype up gamers worldwide.
It shows up under new demos in the US PSN but there isn't anything to download yet. One day, around the year 2055, Sony will understand how to release these things and have them easy to find
These are always too cringe-inducing for me to watch, but here's hoping I read about actual world premieres this time and not just new trailers for things we've already seen.
Would be nice to see what Rocksteady has been working on.
Well it's good that fans will get more story to chew through.
On the other hand, it's lame that this will likely be a separate season pass when the first one stumbled so much. Season pass2 could easily get more meaningful story DLC, while the rest of us are stuck with the lackluster character arcs from season pass1.
Was hoping they were done so I could finally play the complete experience, but I guess not
I just started the game up a while ago thinking most of the big updates have been added lol. This is what I've wanted from the beginning, so looks like I'm restarting FFXV from scratch
@FullbringIchigo Very good point and if this rumor is true I hope that's the case.
It isn't a brand-loyalty thing for me, I just think they should put their big titles on as many platforms as possible and grow the communities. RE7 and MHWorld seem to be going in that direction.
If they were listening to consumers, this would've had a reasonably priced season pass with meaningful DLC for both story and multiplayer. People hate season passes, but not when they have something meaningful to tell or play.
EA has their "ear to the consumer at all times" so they could find ways to loophole crowds into a sales funnel. That's why they need big names like NBA/NFL/FIFA/Disney completely controlling their development slate while Mass Effect and everything else slowly withers away.
Hmmm, we'll see what has to be said about it at next E3. Personally, shooting for console exclusivity isn't a good idea for Capcom right now. XBO has the DMC4 remaster and MHWorld is releasing there too...seems nonsensical to cut out that much sales potential for no reason.
It's a complicated situation that analysts have been mentioning for years now. Because of the rising costs of production, it's only a matter of time before gaming companies need to place their new products under tiers or raise the cost of everything across the board.
Mo-cap, advertising, the 4K boom, virtual reality.....all these things are extremely expensive. You need a big studio, all the tech costs an arm and a leg (even if renting), and cheap actors can ruin every cutscene you make.
What I won't agree with, is gamers overreacting to lootboxes. It clearly shows people how anti-consumer a videogame can get.

Re: Japanese Sales Charts: Dragon Ball FighterZ Can't Topple Monster Hunter, PS4 Still Number 1
Phoo, MHWORLD nearly at 2million sold. Amazing and deserved.
Boy do I wish the MP had better connection options though. Played at peak hours and it feels so empty.
Re: Donnie Yen Announces Sleeping Dogs Movie Role
Kind of an odd choice since he's pretty old and not the best at delivering energetic lines. Would've gone with Daniel Wu instead.
Hopefully the movie releases alongside an official sequel...but I doubt it
Re: Feature: Top 10 DLC Characters We Want in Dragon Ball FighterZ
If they add any 4 of this list, I'd be much more interested in the season pass.
If they added original Dragon Ball characters and a story arc with the tenkaichi tournament, I'd pick it up ASAP
Re: Japanese Sales Charts: Monster Hunter: World and PS4 Tear Apart the Competition
Wooo, those are fantastic sales! Well deserved.
Re: Guide: The Best PS4 Fighting Games
"What's you're favorite fighting game on PS4?"
::lists Xenoverse2 and FighterZ::
Don't make me choose!! I love them both for how easily they are to understand yet hard to master.
2018 is my year of getting back into the fighting game genre, does anyone recommend other less technical ones?
Re: Guide: Monster Hunter: World Weapons - All Charge Blades, Upgrade Trees, and How to Craft Them
You guys always make the best guides. Thanks for this, those ??? materials drive me nuts
Re: UK Sales Charts: Monster Hunter: World Hunts Down Best First Week in Series History
Sounds great but I prefer sell-through numbers rather than shipping to stores. The game is awesome and absolutely happy to see it and DBFZ in the top spots.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 204
Nothing but MHWorld for me this weekend. Been grinding big baddies all morning

Re: Guide: How to Play as Aloy from Horizon: Zero Dawn in Monster Hunter: World
...so are the weapon/armor stats any good? That's the only reason I'd spring for this set, otherwise may as well just grind for something better.

Re: Japanese Sales Charts: PS4 Outsells Switch Two Weeks in a Row
Took 2 SKUs, MHWorld, and DBFZ

Re: New PlayStation Figurines Look Like Sony Themed amiibo
Nice, I'll pick up Crash and would like a Jak and Daxter one eventually. Couldn't care less about the others.
They don't have NFC so not sure why anyone would call it a copy-cat.

Re: Final Fantasy XV Royal Edition Confirmed, Contains Brand New Content
@FullbringIchigo Yeah I meant more with the ability to "explore the sea between Cape Caem and Altissia".
Re: God of War's Stone Mason Edition Appears on GameStop
I'm a big GoW fan and that lands really close to my birthday if June30th is the actual releade date. Totally picking one up
Re: First Monster Hunter: World Review Is Near Perfect

Re: Final Fantasy XV Royal Edition Confirmed, Contains Brand New Content
That's lame. Folks who already purchased the game and the season pass should get the other add-ons for free.
Figures they add an airship and it comes with a $20 pricetag. The PSVR fishing game I can understand, but this is primo BS.
Re: Feature: 2018 Is Another Insane Year for Japanese Games on PS4
Great list so far. Megaman11, Lost Sphear, and DQ11 are my most anticipated.
Re: Feature: 5 Ways the PlayStation Store Must Improve in 2018
It would be great to see these implemented. Less ads, faster navigation, and game previews are what I mostly want.
Re: Poll: Is 2018 Looking Bright for PlayStation?
With delays being a normal occurrence and this being the first month of 2018, it's way too early to tell.
Re: Uncharted: The Lost Legacy Director Shaun Escayg Departs Naughty Dog
Lost Legacy is easily my favorite Uncharted entry, so kinda bummed to see a good creative director leave.
...But reading that he's going to Crystal Dynamics for an Avengers game is great news. Looking forward to that.
Re: Guide: Upcoming PS4 Games in 2018
Wowzers, there are 21 games in that list that I'm looking forward to. The crazy release schedule of 2017 will continue into 2018. Game on homies!
Re: Darksiders III Heats Up with Lava Brute Gameplay Video
Between this and Biomutant, I'm pretty excited for THQ Nordic's 2018 lineup. Here's hoping for a summer release.

Re: Review: Okami HD (PS4)
Beautiful stuff. I forgot this was happening, saw it for $20 and just had to pre-order.

Re: PSX 2017: Dreams Has a Full Digital Audio Workstation
@Hapuc Well then this is an easy decision. Thanks for the heads up
Re: PSX 2017: Sucker Punch Collaborating with Sony Japan Studio on PS4's Ghost of Tsushima
That's great, I love when studios consult with folks closer to their source material. More devs should take this approach to game-making.
Re: PSX 2017: The Last of Us 2 Is 50-60% Complete, Gameplay at E3 2018
Nice, so it'll likely be next years "most anticipated" game too
Re: PSX 2017: Dreams Has a Full Digital Audio Workstation
Whaaat, okay that's pretty amazing. If I can import my own samples, this would be a day1 buy.
Re: Poll: Did You Enjoy The Game Awards 2017?
It was great, best one yet. Mostly because people got to say their part on stage, the announcements were exciting, and the best games won awards.
Re: You Can Download the Monster Hunter: World Beta Right Now on PS4

Re: There's a Bloodborne Comic and It Looks Freakin' Rad
Hmm, not a fan of the pencils or colors. Would've liked to see Becky Cloonan or Max Fiumara draw this one out.
Re: Hideo Kojima Cameos in Horizon: Zero Dawn's Complete Edition Trailer
That seems more like a video for HZD's impact on cosplayers and game developers, not really a pitch for the complete edition.
Anyway, been trying to start this game up for a while now but always trail off. Hoping to finally beat it before Christmas, then start Nier

My backlog is ridiculous. Should be finishing up HZD, but kinda fell off the wagon and started Xenoblade 2 instead.
Re: PSX 2017 Will Require Coffee if You're in Europe
For a second I thought this was everything that was happening at PSX lol, was super unimpressed.
I'd be all over the Ghost of Tsushima panel.
