Re: SEGA Genesis Collection Turns Back Time in May on PS4

Cacky_Raphael

Hopefully it'll include Streets of Rage 2 (at least) as well as the first. Happy that Gunstar Heroes appears to be in the lineup too. Other titles I'd like to revisit:

Sunset Riders
Gynoug
Flicky
Kid Chameleon
Alien Storm
Comix Zone
World of Illusion
Quackshot
Desert/Jungle Strike
Earthworm Jim
Flashback
Truxton
General Chaos

I know they'll probably be included but Columns and Ecco can pretty much get bent.

If Sega don't cater to my every whim they will rue the day*

*they won't

Re: Guide: The Best PS4 Racing Games

Top list! I am partial to a racer.

GT Sport is my personal favourite, like others have said mastering the tracks and shaving times is really addictive, to the point that I too have not ventured online yet either. The handling model feels pretty spot on too especially when assists are dialed to personal preferences. It's also GT enough to offer a healthy dose of nostalgia to old blokes such as me who played the original to death.

Dirt Rally is right up there too for me but it's insanely tough to be quick. Not that I have tried it but I think it probably benefits from playing with a wheel setup just for that extra element of control and smoothness.

Not sure if anyone remembers Blur from last gen, many an hour was whiled playing local multiplayer on that. Something akin to that for PS4 would much appreciated.

@NathanUC I'm working my way through the Circuit Experience challenges at the moment funnily enough. It's pretty addictive to try and Gold everything, plus the leaderboards add that little bit of extra motivation......not that I'm competitive or anything. It's nice you get gifted a lot of cars along the way too. Barely spent anything on cars thus far.

@Neolit Yeah I guess you're right, it gets you racing quicker and that seems to be the point. I suppose I just like tinkering. The last update did change the mo of the game somewhat though. I've not even ventured online yet as I've been sidetracked by missions and leagues and gift cars etc. There is a lot of time for other things now it's not so focused on multiplayer. Either way it's a huge improvement and it only stands to get better as time goes on. I'd quite like to see the development road map for the next 12 months.

@Neolit Whilst I agree in the main that the update has made the solo campaign agreeably meaty I do miss the more detailed car upgrading and tuning system of old. I used to like buying and adding parts rather than the new quick tune (levelling) system. It's a minor gripe though and probably one that is fairly specific to me personally. Why PD haven't catered souly for my needs though is quite beyond me, errrr...........

Re: UK Sales Charts: Gran Turismo Sport On Course to Overtake Crash Bandicoot

Having looked at some of the update plans it appears the car tuning component is making a return too, maybe not as in depth as previously but this is a positive in my eyes.

Not sure if it's been there from the start, but the livery editor is a bonus for me too. No doubt online races will be awash with cars plastered in comedy winkys though. If only PD would release the Rover 800 in a future update then I could create a crudely spray painted 'Cook Pass Babtridge' livery. I can but dream.

Having gone through the comments it's good to see that whole Plat trophy thing turned out to be a non issue. Not played it yet, but it'll be waiting for me once the spawn have settled.

Re: Reaction: Xbox Is Still Two Steps Behind PlayStation

Cacky_Raphael

I can totally see how the One X fits in the pocket with the Pro and there is no denying it's a shiny bit of kit, but it seems like MS has priced the thing too high to lure potential upgraders or 'defectors'. Start of a console cycle I think you can more justify that price tag and although a little high I could see people paying it, now? Not so much.

Also, The Last Night? Errrrrr Flashback much? I really want to play it though.

Re: Gran Turismo Sport's Really Looking Great in Beta

Cacky_Raphael

Well that just looks flippin' marvellous, I've not played any GT since 3 on the PS2 which I sunk a lot of time into. Was mostly playing Forza since 2 which is also great. The PS4 has not really awash with good sim(like) racing titles, PC was ok but felt quite bland or clinical. This is the first GT iteration in a while that has made me want to play it, could well be an accessories seller too..
