Re: PS5's Install Base Closes on 50 Million As Sony Gets Increasingly Aggressive

@Titntin ah playing the victim now are we?

Right, if you had spent time at developers then you know categorically that gaming is massively down over previous generations. Not sure if it's correct revenue is up after cost is factored but if it is it's only because they have raised the prices to unsustainable levels.

Console gaming is declining, and with the quality of output in 2023 it will accelerate, they are turning gamers like me who spend a ludicrous amount of money on games (i average between MS, PS, Switch and Steam about £300 - £500 per month) away from their products, I know I'm not alone and this will have a huge impact because gamers coming up after us either don't have the same level of disposable income or do not spend as much time gaming on consoles unless it's a f2p model.

The biggest investor in Sony right now is Blackrock, and they are not know for leaving companies intact when they hold majority shares, and if you don't think they are already influencing content I have a bridge to sell you.

There will be a fundamental shift in what is on offer when PS6 comes around.

@Titntin ugh...there's always one. Tried my best to keep it nice, but ok I'll bite.

Of course I still enjoy gaming. I Have been playing everything since 1980. Nothing changes on that front. I Play games every day of the week and have played more games that you could possobly fathom in the small worldview you have.

I'm done with modern Sony gaming, they are designed to be simple bits of fluff for people with the emotional range of a turnip.

Enjoy your press X to win games, I'll be enjoying everything else thats on offer through PC and also emulation, you know when they used to stretch your abilities or make you think.

Good on them, I've been buying PlayStation since I picked up a PS1 on launch day in HMV and have gone through every handheld, every console, and every peripheral. I even worked at Sony and was involved in the creation of the PSN network between the PS2 and PS3 generations. I have never missed a 1st party game or product release since then. Between PS3, PSP, PS4, Vita and PS5 I have a digital collection in the thousands.

But this generation has shown me that these games are no longer being developed by passionate gamers, they are being created by shareholders to appeal to the widest audience possible, so by trying to appeal to everyone they in my opinion are appealing to no one.

Spiderman 2 was the last PS5 game I'll be picking up and once my premium sub ends next august I will be relegating the PS5 and the PSVR2 to the cupboard, these games are clearly for a younger audience these days!

Cue the "you won't be missed messages" but I do wonder if I'm not alone in this, when you have people who have spend hundreds of thousands pounds on a brand walking away at some point it will make a dent.

I picked it up on PC and it's a solid 8 for me, everything I'd want in a Robo game, only issue I have is Peter Weller is a bit too old for this now, but great they added him.

I just love that it is silly, it acknowledges its silly and it realises it's a videogame rather than some deadly serious thing that is going for a bafta.

It's just a really fun refreshing game, just wish we had more.

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Marvel's Spider-Man 2?

Fishnpeas

I'm about 10 hours in and it really is just pretty DLC from first one to be honest, only the writing seems to be worse, the sidequests are really dull and I know some people say they haven't had any but I've had a massive amout of bugs, at least 5 or 6 hard resets and countless times where the last bad guy in a mission is hidden inside a wall or building, it's infuriating. Far too much bloat in this, without there is probably about 3 hours worth of decent content.

Re: Poll: Spider-Man 2 PS5 Bugs are Apparently a Real Problem, But Have You Had Any?

Clipping is a massive issue for me at the minute, I have ended up stuck in allsorts, traversal has some weird jank sometimes when changing direction and the controls have a wobble, a few T poses where I look like Tom Cruise in mission impossible when trying to land on the ground. And as for the NPCs, they all seem to be a variation of black guy wearing different coloured headphones. I Must have rescued him 30 times so far, if I were him I would never leave the house.

Also I rescued him once and he had the same face but white and he had black hands, I have never seen mixed race look like that before.

Re: Feature: Your Top 10 PS5, PS4 Games of 2023 So Far

Fishnpeas

FFXVI was my biggest disappointment this year so far, it just wasn't a FF game, graphics and fighting was great but it just didn't have what makes FF in it, it lacked a soul. And don't get me started on that ending.

Sorry but We Love Katamari has to take the top spot so far this year for me.

I got mine on launch and love that I no longer get motion sickness like I did with PSVR1 and some of the games are superb (Demio is a definite standout for me) bit but cannot believe we never got an Astro Bot game at launch, I genuinely thought that was a Mario beater and the future of platform games and we got nothing on it. It hasn't had a true killer app.
