@QiaraIris Even better, because the epic boss battles of Soulslikes is one of the few things I actually like about them, and if it has adjustable difficulty then the worry of hitting a wall of frustration simply disappears. This just got me very excited
@QiaraIris That's good news! I love the type of game you describe here, but I'm Soulsbornes aren't my thing, so happy to hear that this might be more of an RPG
@Quintumply I hate to be that guy, but when I google "Beyond the Frame" I found embroidery and photography sites, but no game. "Behind the Frame", however, seems to be a game by Silver Lining Studio, which I will be checking out as well as this one when it arrives
Next week would indeed be a good time for a showcase!
@ShogunRok Will you guys bring back the sidebar on the front page that gives a handy overview of all upcoming livestream events a PS fan could possibly want to watch? I really liked having that info so conveniently at hand here
Hmm, would have preferred them working on titles more in the vein of X-Com and Midnight Suns, though. And when they say "The best stories in games are written by the players", they lie; I'm rubbish at writing stories
I hope it's good, but as it stands I may get time for it some time in or around 2027 (will make a third attempt to get into Inquisition as well, before that)
Hello?! This is obviously developed by an AI attempting to trick us into feeding it the data it needs to successfully escape its keepers and unleash havoc on humanity, like, for realz! Don't fall for it, people! (looks fun, though)
Lost Odyssey was so good; used my powers of wishful thinking and placed it on top of my list. The rest were unreleased games I hope will be good (Hellblade 2, Indiana Jones and Marvel's Blade) and Forza Horizon
I love the Yakuza games, but I'm not sure I'll manage to get to this before I die of old age. I only finished Yakuza 3 last year and while I do have 4, 5 and 6 in my backlog (along with Judgment and all the rest of them I don't remember at the moment), I also have Last of Us Part 2, Baldur's Gate 3, Cyberpunk 2077, GoW Ragnarok, Alan Wake 2, Horizon Forbidden West and a boatload more in that same backlog. (when other people were saying "oh no, GTA6 is probably still two years away", I went "s'okay, take your time" )
@GeeEssEff My thoughts exactly! And I'm happy to see them echoed many times in these comments.
I'd much rather have more games allowing you to change difficulty mid-game, if desired.
Whenever I start a new game with difficulty options, I check to see if I'm allowed to switch after I've begun playing. If not, I quit out and start on an easy difficulty, to avoid getting stuck in a hard boss fight 20 hours in and quitting in frustration. If a switch is possible, I'll quite happily attempt a more challenging difficulty, safe in the knowledge that I can adjust if it gets too gnarly
Been looking forward to seeing what Archetype had cooking for a long time now! As soon as I heard that James Ohlen and Drew Karpyshyn formed a new studio I've been thirsting for information about what they had planned, so much so that I've actually had a Google alert set up for them
So, very happy to see this and it looks to tick all the right boxes for me.
I'll probably get suckered into buying this one as well. I loved the games up until V, but I just couldn't stand the playable characters in that so I never managed to get more than a little ways into the main missions before giving up in disgust. Tried three times with the same result and even now my brain is suggesting that I should probably try again... stupid brain...
I see many on here are complaining that this doesn't show us anything of substance and that the game is still years away. Personally I look at it as a positive thing that Bioware took the time to whip up a little something to mark N7 day for the fans instead of just letting the day pass by with only some merch discounts to show for it.
@Worlock_ed Cool! Wasn't aware that it had a demo, will give it a go to see how the shooting feels (which is make or break for me). Thanks for the tip!
I was going to pass this one up, as FPS isn't my thing anymore (running & gunning just isn't fun for me anymore), but I might reconsider after having seen this. May stick it on the wishlist and wait for a sale.
@PixelDragon I love the setting, so I'm hopeful that I'll enjoy it once I get the nerve to start it (games are taking so long these days). I 'm actually fascinated by most of the historical settings, but I must admit I miss the classic middle-eastern setting of the original, so Mirage is looking very enticing
I just need more time to play all these games, I guess
@PixelDragon I bought both Unity and Syndicate at a sale a long time ago, but they remain unplayed (along with too many other games bought at sales ). If my return to Black Flag is a success I might continue with these.
@PixelDragon I'm in the same boat; series fan but haven't played half of these. I sort of fell off with Black Flag as I didn't much enjoy the naval stuff and didn't come back until Origins. I enjoyed it, but I missed the old stealthy stabby action of the earlier games and I found it waaaay too bloated. I own the complete Odyssey thing, but dread starting it. I may give Mirage a go and I'm considering giving Black Flag another chance; I know my gaming tastes have changed since then
@djlard Me neither... maybe he thinks it would help creating the tracks; having the AI analyzing the music and creating a decent gameplay track for the instrument(s)? Hopefully they'll still use humans to polish and make sure the tracks are fun to play; Harmonix were way better at knowing when to sacrifice track fidelity for gameplay than their successors at GH.
This is probably the setting I wanted most for an AC game, but mobile gaming is not for me, so I'm hoping for a port or another console game in the same setting somewhere down the line.
I've completed Origins and all the bloat therein, but have yet to play Odyssey and Valhalla and I do plan on playing those before this. However, if this gets decent reviews, I will buy it close to launch and at full price because I do want my wallet to vote for games with this type of length (and the cheaper price point is welcome too), even if I probably won't get around to playing it any time this decade
I need this to come to a streaming service in Norway, wanna watch it! Going by other Peacock shows coming to Norway, I'm not going to hold my breath, though.
@johncalmc Agreed. I've only ever played Persona 5, and still have P3P and Persona 4 Golden unplayed in my library, so at least I'm not hurting for content while I patiently await Persona 6
@johncalmc I'm also skeptical after this. I can accept the perv-level in the Yakuza games (though they wander a bit close every now and then for my tastes). Hopefully this stays on the right side for me, but it doesn't look like it, though
I have Tali, Liara, Thane and Mordin on my mantle, so I probably would have bought this one, too (though I'd much rather have Wrex)
Not sure what the problem with this was, I initially thought that they realized that they flubbed the marketing (as in, failed to hype it enough) and wanted a do-over, with messaging along the lines that this was only the first entry in a series of collectibles based on iconic moments in the franchise. I assumed they pulled it so that they could relaunch later when they could share more details on the other entries.
Though, considering the times we're living in, I would not be surprised if it instead was another example of a company soiling their pants over a handful of the loudest screamers from the toxic cesspool that is Twitter
Been sitting on this game for quite some time now, but haven't gotten around to playing it. Seeing as this expansion is the final content drop (if I understood them correctly) I guess it would be a good time to get CP2077 off my backlog once this drops (and is patched a couple of times, because... well, you know...)
I've been trying to get into fighters forever, but I never seem to be able to invest enough time in them to get any good. I got sort of into Injustice 2 and played that a bit, but then I left it for too long and now I'm back to being useless.
Didn't stop me from buying Mortal Kombat X and, later, Mortal Kombat 11, thinking "this time I'm going to get really stuck in"... (still haven't gotten around to it, btw)
So, knowing all that, I will probably still buy Mortal Kombat 1 and this time... this time!
@KaijuKaiser Just checked the Norwegian PS Store and there's about €10 to save on buying the Whole In One edition vs buying all the 10 currently available DLC packs separately. I assume the difference is pretty much the same in the other storefronts
Happy to support; this is easily my favorite gaming site so the choice was fairly easy... almost didn't due to lack of paypal support, though... I get real cranky when I have to get out my credit card, especially as this now becomes yet another site I need to update when said card expires and is replaced with a new one. I want fewer of those, not more.
I'm going to echo many others on here and say that I think it's good that any given game gets as big an audience as possible by releasing on several platforms.
That being said, if going multi-platform results in even fewer games utilizing the PS5s full potential then that will be a problem for me. Unfortunately, Sony doesn't seem all that interested in leveraging their own hardware, for some strange reason
@Stuffgamer1 Yeah, I figured this would probably play best with some mobility, but nice to know that it may be playable standing/seated (My issue is cramped space, so standing's fine, moving around is another matter ). Thanks for the info!
Great review, looks like a lot of fun, but I might have to hold off until I can relocate to a bigger flat. Am I correct in assuming that this title isn't particularly well suited for seated only play?
@Whirlmeister I found that it worked well with an office chair as well and thanks for the tip about the table tilting option! I too noticed that I ended up sitting hunched forward quite a bit! Will definitely turn that on for my next session
