@gollumb82
I don't like the direction this is all going. I'm not unreasonable and I get companies primary goal is to make money but would it really hurt Phil and MS to try and make new studios and IP's rather than eat the existing ones that we can all already play?
Wouldn't that be better and help the industry? I'd have more respect for him.
As for my health the situation is bad but what's worse is the mean and disgusting comments from people on both sides insulting and bashing or praising over a damn logo. The people themselves are the worst thing about it, more so than the situation itself.
I have had two fits today already over the disgusting and toxic behaviour from the gaming community in general.
Gaming is my only escape from the sh**ty life I have, so I shouldn't even be on the internet with how people can be.
Watching my only means of enjoyment go down this corporate dark hole and with my mental health and seizures the way they are it could, no exaggeration, could end up killing me.
Yeah Phil has a job to do, but he's hurting people more than he knows.
@gollumb82 Uh-huh. And how does that benefit anyone not on Xbox? This still damages the industry because he is keeping it behind a paywall. How is that different or better than FB, Apple etc? You say people would be praising Sony and that's bad, but it works both ways, praising MS is bad because this is a bad situation.
Third parties are needed and before long they will be all gone. It's becoming a 'who has the most money' war and it's an unfair and unhealthy market.
Some folks can't afford multiple consoles. Or, in my case doesn't have the mental ability to cope with a multiple choice of what to play because I suffer with severe mental health issues.
Phil is not helping the industry, he is damaging it and is a hypocrite. As are Xbox fans who praise this since all say the same about Sony and PS fans. No one can say one is good and the other is bad if the outcome is the same.
Unfortunately it doesn't look like this is going to stop. According to a new rumour as of today Phil now has his sights set on EA. The man isn't going to stop until he has the whole industry under his subscription. He's trying to prevent anyone from muscling in with his 'nice guy' act.
Before long there will be nothing left for the rest of the industry. He/MS are a much bigger threat than TenCent and they've got to be stopped. At this point there must be some legislation that would call this an unfair competition? I damn hope so, gaming is going to be destroyed if he is allowed to continue.
@Col_McCafferty
I am on medication for Autism, Neurological Disorders, Epilepsy and Depression. But hell, I want some of what Phil is taking, it must be a frigin' incredible mental release.
@UltimateOtaku91 As I said before the man is a puppet master. He is throwing that out there so Sony doesn't consider a retaliation by sublty suggesting they are not each others' competitors.
Sounds more like he's afraid while he works at gobbling up everything for GamePass right under the industry's nose.
I mean, Apple is more in the mobile ballpark, Google Stadia failed and Tencent is not as big a threat as Microsoft at this point. Gurantee though the Xbox fans will think he is good ol' good guy Phil trying to help everyone. What a damn hypocrite.
Fortunately the CoD/Activision buyout might not affect Sony at all in the end. Turns out Deviation games has been working on an online shooter for Sony for over a year. And they are made up of the founders of TreyArch, the developers of the CoD Black Ops games.
The problem is where does it end? What will MS buy next? Capcom? SquareEnix? Ubisoft? Sega? All of the above?
A games industry fully controlled by Microsoft is not a good thing and even Xbox fanboys should be worried. When competition ceases to exist because there isn't enough games to go around MS can make the rules however they want.
Know what that means? Charge you whatever they damn well like for access, because, what other choice do you have? And don't think they won't, XBLG double price anyone? Yeah they backtracked, but why would they have to without competition?
And that's the optimum word there, choice? That thing that Xbox fans loved to throw around last generation.
Remember when Phil said 'exclusives are bad?' remember when he said 'when we all play, we all win? (Inclusion)' remember when he was hell bent on cross play?
Funny how what he is doing is the opposite of all of that. A lot of gamers have short memories it seems.
This is plain and simple anti-consumer and anti-competitive and it's certainly an unfair market. And yet it's being praised and Xbox fanboys are calling for more acquisitions?
What would they say if this was Sony? We all know so why is it ok when it's Microsoft? To exclude two major platforms despite Phil's crap line of being 'inclusive'. What a load of b***ocks.

@Martsmall
You say I'm putting all the blame on MS and yet you're trying to cast blame on Sony who are not at fault in this instance, and re-read your comment, you did agree with me by saying 'streaming is the future' and that future as I said will change and destroy traditional gaming.
BTW, you can both download and stream in PSNow too. And did you miss the part where I said I don't like that either? You're cherry picking my comments to suit your brand loyalty, and in our comments you're the one who brought Sony in to this, not me.
Again, you're not seeing the point to any of this down the line. MS are being anti-consumer by buying up huge third parties and taking them away from other platforms who don't conform to their vision and that is undeniable. You want to ignore that and be an MS apologist be my guest, it doesn't change what they are doing.
@Martsmall
Because unlike Microsoft Sony are not buying up massive publishers and attempting to force the industry into their 'vision'. Not that I agree with it either way.
And you've just agreed to everything I've already said by stating that 'it's the future'. So, basically, Microsoft are anti-competitive and anti-consumer for slowly buying up and changing an industry that didn't need to change so drastically in order to force people towards services even if they don't want it.
We're going around in circles here so I won't bother with you anymore. Respectively, PureXbox is that way. 👉
@Martsmall
Again. How would you stop them when competition no longer exists? If they stay on this track and end up buying out all the competition they can make the rules as they see fit. In the end you won't need a console, why bother to produce it when all you'll need is a TV, and App and a controller? Guess what, no downloads, streaming only, just like everything else. Bye-bye options. You know that will happen with them investing heavily in cloud computing, it's inevitable.
@Martsmall You think it'll be that way forever? Highly doubtful. It's a slow transition to control everything under a subscription. And I never said Sony were my friends either.
As for people not paying it, what choice will they have when everything else is gone because MS bought practically the whole industry? It'll happen. And it's when I'll stop gaming. Glad I collected a massive library to go back to while everyone else will enter the next dark age of gaming. Just like the pre 90's crash.
@Martsmall
Of course the price hasn't increased. Yet. Until they get the mass numbers they want. The company that tried to get away with doubling the price of XBLG? You think they are your friends? They did that to try and force people to GP and they won't keep the price low forever. You don't make back 70bn overnight. With their current numbers it would take 10 years of continuous subscribers to get that back at full price. They confirmed yesterday GP subscribers sit at 25m. Four years after it launched, available on four platforms at present.
And some of us don't want services, yet MS will force us kicking and screaming. Slowly damaging what didn't need to change. Netflix is in massive debt of 3bn with over 8x more subscribers than MS and can't make a profit when movies are more accessed than games and cheaper to produce.
Inevitably, games will have to become MTX mediocre rubbish in order to churn them out quickly for profit in the future.
Gaming will, eventually, never be the same again. I'm sure of it. imo.
@Col_McCafferty That's because they do. Apparently, PlayStation fanboys are toxic and Xbox fanboys are not according to them. But did you see all the toxic comments on PureXbox yesterday? Unbelievable.
Third parties are necessary, without them we all lose but Microsoft are intent to gobble them all up for maximum profit and change gaming to be a (more) soulless corporate cess Pitt.
Phil Spencer: "exclusives are anti-consumer, when we all play, we all win".
Also Phil Spencer: "no, no, you can't have that, but we want yours". And he'll make some PR speech next time Sony gets a game to make them look bad and goad them to his ideology, he's a damn puppet master.
@Col_McCafferty
Guaranteed when Sony gets yet another timed exclusive that will appear everywhere in due time everyone will call them the most anti-consumer company in the world while conveniently forgetting that Microsoft are deliberately leaving out two platforms who won't conform to their 'vision'.
And yet they are the inclusive, pro-consumer ones apparently. 🤷♂️
Like you said, they can do no wrong because everyone has been blinded by GamePass.
No ownership, always online, no lending DRM. sound familiar? How can people be so blind?
And when the price inevitably increases will people still feel the same for not voting with their wallets?
Paying forever for access as opposed to a one off fee to play at your own leisure?
@naruball Who said anything about sales? I just mean that their games are, imo, far better quality than anything Activision have ever produced. For me Yakuza and Persona are in my top 5 franchises of all time.
Not that I'm suggesting this but Sega would be the only thing that can counter both the Zenimax and Activision buyouts imo. And unlike MS Sony can actually legally do it as their HQ is still in Tokyo and are not restricted by the Japanese Foreign Investment Laws.
As far as I know Sega's worth about 5bn so Sony could afford them.
Y'know, everyone goes on about Tencent buying everything to be the worst imaginable thing. But isn't that exactly what Microsoft are doing at this point and everyone on the Xbox side, who fears Tencent, is celebrating this? Double standards much?
At this point I'd rather Disney bought everything, atleast it's open to everyone then because they have no obligation to either platform holder.
@TheRedComet Yeah I get what you're saying but I think this behaviour, whoever it be between Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo or any of the others buying up big publishers hurts the industry more than it helps it. I see your point and agree to a degree but I think this is creating a bigger divide than ever and those who celebrate it for the sake of "my box is better than your box" are cheering for something that will do more harm than good.
Microsoft leaving the other two platforms out is just plain anti-consumer in my opinion. And I'd say the same if Sony did it. Only difference is they can't afford a huge publisher and anyone they have acquired are generally small, and mostly, unknown fish. Not that it's any more right to do so. We need big third parties and soon there won't be if this continues.
@TheRedComet I mean, yeah they are a threat but my thinking is what is the point in buying a huge publisher where you got all the games anyway? And then proceed to release them everywhere except one platform? If it's about keeping games safe from the likes of TenCent and Apple then why not still sell them to PlayStation if Sony are not their competitors?
How can this be seen any other way? I think Phill is full of it and people believe him. Otherwise he could have both sides of the pie. Xbox fans get the games for a low monthly fee and force PlayStation fans to pay full price. It still favours their primary platform. But no, he locks out another platform entirely meaning this is absolutely about punishing those who don't buy Xbox
I personally don't play anything Activision publishes other than Spyro but this simply can't be justified as good for the industry. Yet Sony gets flak for timed exclusives all across the internet. How is that fair I ask you?
What is the point in buying a big publisher when every platform already gets all the games that publisher and their developers offer?
Simple, it locks out only one platform, PlayStation. Phil and his customers are huge hypocrites. Phil says "exclusives are bad for the industry" and "it's not about punishing PlayStation" then what is the point in a move like this when you were already getting the games?
Guaranteed, when PlayStation gets their next timed exclusive Phil and his fans will make big complaints about it while conveniently ignoring this. It's bad for the industry no matter how his next PR spin will try to say otherwise.
Phil and his fans are hypocrites. They say exclusives are bad for the industry but pull this stunt. Phil can try to weasel his words to make this sound good for the industry all he wants but the only thing he does with these stunts is lock PlayStation out of games while everyone else gets them, that's all there is to it. Punishing PlayStation players for not buying an Xbox, it's disgusting and yet none of the fans will call him out on it.
Meanwhile Sony buys one timed exclusive and they are called evil among all the other names under the sun. How is this fair? There should be rules against a monopoly like this.
When KotOR comes as a 'Console Exclusive' I better not hear a single Xbox fan complain since they are cheering for this.
@darksoul77 Ah you're playing through Origin. I've been trying to run mine from the CD-ROM, maybe that's why. I might have to just buy it again on Origin.
@zebric21
It's already been pirated (GoW). It's started to appear on torrent sites. Persona 4 Golden was pirated less than 24 hours after it released on PC despite them begging for a port for nearly a decade.
This is one of the reasons I feel PC players don't deserve the console games they beg for. With Persona they had the audacity to complain on Reddit of poor performance of the pirated copy. Unbelievable. Their entitlement sickens me.
I'll probably get called out for this comment as it's a touchy subject but PC game piracy is a huge problem that will never go away due to the nature of the open platform.
@TooBarFoo I don't have the backwards compatible PS3, mine was the 40GB version which I later replaced with a super slim for space. It's still connected to my TV now but what worries me about the BC PS3 is the many Reddit posts I see of them failing, they seem, eventually, unreliable.
I still have my fat PS2 working as good as the day I got it and recently have been revisiting Mercenaries Playground of Destruction and Silent Hill 4.
In terms of legacy I remember watching one of the PlayStation broadcasts recently where Jim Ryan said "At PlayStation we respect our legacy" I shouted at the TV "Bo***cks! Where's the BC, then!" lol.
@TooBarFoo Yeah that's what I was getting at. I assume that newer devices neglect using old technology in the thought that hardly anyone uses old discs these days. And it saves them money.
In terms of a games console though it would make sense to play old games and would have been a selling point to a lot of people in my opinion. To use drives compatible with older laser readers would have been a smart decision for Sony, it would cost a bit more to have but they would get that back with peoples desire to play old games. In many ways I think it would get them more sales just for that.
Jim Ryan however, atleast initially said "who would play these". The 'retro' community is bigger than he thinks.
I have my old consoles and still play them so I'm good either way, but to play them all on one device would be nice. Even I am considering an Xbox to play my older discs again, especially given how unreliable the X360 could be. I'm assuming the PS5 can't read old discs and it's a big mistake from Sony if that be the case in my opinion.
@TooBarFoo I'm still curious how Xbox is able to do it with discs. Most Blu-Ray drives lack the red laser switching that is required to read CD's and DVD's which all Xbox games prior to the Xbox One used. Unless they use one that has both the red and blue laser reader on the series X it is technically impossible.
@TheDudeElDuderino
Again, that's my opinion and I'm allowed to have it. Who are you to tell me what I can and can't think or believe?
If you intend to be offensive towards a person for their opinion on a practice, and again it wasn't directed at a person or individual, then maybe you should just mind your own business?
Again, I'm allowed my opinion and you are allowed yours. Don't think you have the right to attack someone for what they are allowed to think.
@TheDudeElDuderino
Take it down a notch? Entitled? No dude, it's called an opinion against modern practices of taking customers for granted. You mention real world time constraints? It's not like they've had 24 years or anything to consider the direction they would take it.
I too am an of fan of the original, I was 12 when it came out. You may not regret the purchase as you say, and that's fine, but some of us are tired of this kind of greed.
They make millions in profit either way, they say games cost a lot to make, and they do but they also make huge profits because millions more people buy games than we ever did in 1997.
That comment regarding entitlement goes around a lot these days based on an older guys personal opinion and your condescending and offensive attitude is not appropriate, maybe you should take your own advice before attacking someone for an opinion on a practice and was not directed at an individual, huh? People are allowed an opinion, as you are yours.
@Reeneman
I've been reading that @TwistedGaming guy's comments. And Xbox fans have the nerve to say we are the toxic ones. Pfft.
I don't disagree there are some very toxic PlayStation fans but those Xbox only guys want to take a look in the mirror.
I actually threw shade at this game when it released because I was unhappy with the 'episodic' nature of its delivery. Three parts of the original across three different full game releases. My friends told me I don't understand the way they are releasing it but I believed (and still think) it's the original three part disc split into three full price releases, which if true I considered unacceptable.
I haven't played it nor read up on it to know if that is true but since it's 'free' on PS+ maybe I'll check it out. I just hope I'm wrong about the 'episodic' three disc split because it's a disgusting idea and I refused to pay for that. When some games, even on Blu-Ray can have multiple discs in a box there is no excuse.
The black one with the PS2 blue logo and etching on it would have been nice for its 20th anniversary. And use the original colours for the PS symbol on the top left.
On a slightly unrelated note I normally don't have problems with controllers breaking as many others do but I have with the DualSense. The R2 trigger became very loose to the point of very high sensitivity at simply resting a finger in it. I assume it was due to the pressure sensitive feature they put into it.
Sony replaced it for free since it was under warranty but it does make me worry about durability. I've disabled the feature for now.
@themightyant Well I'm 34 now and used to watch the original run on Saturday mornings on UK GOLD. There may have been an underlying, over exaggerated sense of social awareness but it just seems more apparent these days where everyone feels offended by something.
I mean, I just let them get on with it and stopped watching. I suppose I just miss simpler times, or maybe it's ignorance on my part. Like you said, 'grumpy old sod' lol.
@MightyDemon82
The classic series (pre Chris Eccleston) was more Sci-fi than drama. The rebooted series is a bit cringy sure, but the Whittaker tenure takes it to a whole new level. I mean, calling her companions 'fam?' you're a two thousand year old alien, not a 16 year old millennial.
And I think the BBC are now using its popularity to push an agenda. In an interview with one of the actors the stated "Doctor Who has always been about tackling real world social issues".
Since when have flying police boxes, aliens obsessed with the genocide of all life and humans turning into metal men been 'real world issues?'
After (in my opinion) Chris Chibnall destroyed Doctor Who with his ridiculous storyline, terrible writing and cringy acting from Jodie Whittaker, coming from a fan that has watched every episode from the first in 1963, I told the BBC to shove their TV licence where the sun don't shine.
Good for people that still watch the BBC I suppose.
It just sounds like a typical corporate greed situation of "rush it out for Christmas sales, money now, fix later".
I dislike how gaming has become more corporate and greedy. I mean it was always sort of like that but in the 80's and 90's Devs actually gave a damn about game production and fun.
@MFTWrecks
I'm a sucker for Pokèmon unfortunately. And Zelda games. Even so, generally the price of Sony first parties are now more expensive than Nintendo's. At launch anyway. Nintendo games never really drop in price by much if at all.
@B_Lindz To be fair Sony's first party games are now more expensive than Nintendo's. I just bought Pokémon Brilliant Diamond at launch for £42 where Sony want £69 for the upcoming Horizon Forbidden West, both physical versions for me.
Generally brand new Nintendo games are in the region of £40-£50 at launch and Sony's first parties are now £65-£70.
@auditor01 They haven't increased in a long time in some countries but here in the UK they did. At the start of the PS4 generation they went up from an average of £39.99 during the PS3/X360 generation to £54.99 and then increased again at the start of the PS5 generation to £69.99 each. That's a big jump in just 7-8 years to almost double the price.
Normally I would buy my games at launch and leave them on the shelf until I am ready to play them despite continuing to work my way through my back catalogue.
Now though, I haven't bought Ratchet and Clank or Returnal yet. I will eventually but when I'm caught up with the games I'm currently playing. By then they'll be cheaper, and I always buy physical not digital.
Currently playing Immortals Fenyx Rising and soon will be moving on to Oddworld SoulStorm. Both are physical PS5 copies despite Oddworld being given away on PSPlus.
I get Sony need to make money but I think they're being greedy where they can't afford to. This could push gamers away from PlayStation rather than to it, especially when some people don't care about Sony first parties or exclusives in general while Phil Spencer continues to dangle that GamePass carrot in front of everyone.
You would have thought they'd be against selling any of their business since the whole reason they exist is that they are the original RARE team that broke away from Microsoft.
Strange. I hope it doesn't impact their quality. I loved Yooka-Laylee and it felt like taking a step back in time to the 90's playing them.
Edit. Also I don't know a lot about Tencent but I hear a lot of people claim they are bad. Can anyone explain why?

Glad I collected a massive library to go back to while everyone else will enter the next dark age of gaming. Just like the pre 90's crash.
Re: Sony Stock Value Loses $20 Billion, But Will Likely Recover
@Martsmall
I'm sure of it. imo.
Re: Sony Stock Value Loses $20 Billion, But Will Likely Recover
@Col_McCafferty
That's because they do.
Re: Sony Stock Value Loses $20 Billion, But Will Likely Recover
@Col_McCafferty
Re: Sony Stock Value Loses $20 Billion, But Will Likely Recover
MicroTencent.
Slowly creating the scenario of; 'Sony Vs The Entire Gaming industry'
Because.. they kicked our butts for three generations running.
Re: Reaction: Activision Blizzard Buyout Is Devastating for PS5, PS4
@naruball
Who said anything about sales? I just mean that their games are, imo, far better quality than anything Activision have ever produced. For me Yakuza and Persona are in my top 5 franchises of all time.
Re: Reaction: Activision Blizzard Buyout Is Devastating for PS5, PS4
Not that I'm suggesting this but Sega would be the only thing that can counter both the Zenimax and Activision buyouts imo. And unlike MS Sony can actually legally do it as their HQ is still in Tokyo and are not restricted by the Japanese Foreign Investment Laws.
As far as I know Sega's worth about 5bn so Sony could afford them.
Re: Reaction: Activision Blizzard Buyout Is Devastating for PS5, PS4
Y'know, everyone goes on about Tencent buying everything to be the worst imaginable thing. But isn't that exactly what Microsoft are doing at this point and everyone on the Xbox side, who fears Tencent, is celebrating this? Double standards much?
At this point I'd rather Disney bought everything, atleast it's open to everyone then because they have no obligation to either platform holder.
Re: Poll: Would You Still Buy PlayStation Consoles Without Activision Blizzard Games?
@TheRedComet
Yeah I get what you're saying but I think this behaviour, whoever it be between Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo or any of the others buying up big publishers hurts the industry more than it helps it.
Re: Poll: Would You Still Buy PlayStation Consoles Without Activision Blizzard Games?
@TheRedComet
I mean, yeah they are a threat but my thinking is what is the point in buying a huge publisher where you got all the games anyway?
Re: Poll: Would You Still Buy PlayStation Consoles Without Activision Blizzard Games?
What is the point in buying a big publisher when every platform already gets all the games that publisher and their developers offer?
Simple, it locks out only one platform, PlayStation. Phil and his customers are huge hypocrites. Phil says "exclusives are bad for the industry" and "it's not about punishing PlayStation" then what is the point in a move like this when you were already getting the games?
Guaranteed, when PlayStation gets their next timed exclusive Phil and his fans will make big complaints about it while conveniently ignoring this. It's bad for the industry no matter how his next PR spin will try to say otherwise.
Re: Microsoft Buys Call of Duty Publisher Activision Blizzard
Re: God of War PC Scales Steam Sales Charts After Glowing Reviews
@darksoul77
Ah you're playing through Origin. I've been trying to run mine from the CD-ROM, maybe that's why. I might have to just buy it again on Origin.
Re: God of War PC Peaks at Almost 50,000 Players on Steam
@zebric21
Re: Updated PlayStation Patent Has Fans in Backwards Compatibility Frenzy, But It's a Reach
@TooBarFoo
I don't have the backwards compatible PS3, mine was the 40GB version which I later replaced with a super slim for space.
Re: Updated PlayStation Patent Has Fans in Backwards Compatibility Frenzy, But It's a Reach
@TooBarFoo
Yeah that's what I was getting at.
Re: Updated PlayStation Patent Has Fans in Backwards Compatibility Frenzy, But It's a Reach
@TooBarFoo
I'm still curious how Xbox is able to do it with discs. Most Blu-Ray drives lack the red laser switching that is required to read CD's and DVD's which all Xbox games prior to the Xbox One used. Unless they use one that has both the red and blue laser reader on the series X it is technically impossible.
Re: Updated PlayStation Patent Has Fans in Backwards Compatibility Frenzy, But It's a Reach
@TheRedComet
It would cause a stir but maybe a CD/DVD add-on drive via USB?
Re: God of War PC Scales Steam Sales Charts After Glowing Reviews
@ryanburnsred
Well I want Star Wars TOR MMO on consoles with cross play so I can play it with my Xbox friend. 10 years and still waiting.
Re: God of War PC Scales Steam Sales Charts After Glowing Reviews
@darksoul77
Have you been playing RA2 on Windows 10? It refuses to run for me even in compatibility mode. Would love to play it again.
Re: PS Plus Version of Final Fantasy VII Remake Can Be Upgraded to PS5 Version for Free from Wednesday
@TheDudeElDuderino
Re: PS Plus Version of Final Fantasy VII Remake Can Be Upgraded to PS5 Version for Free from Wednesday
@TheDudeElDuderino
Re: PS Plus Version of Final Fantasy VII Remake Can Be Upgraded to PS5 Version for Free from Wednesday
@Reeneman
I've been reading that @TwistedGaming guy's comments. And Xbox fans have the nerve to say we are the toxic ones. Pfft.
I don't disagree there are some very toxic PlayStation fans but those Xbox only guys want to take a look in the mirror.
Re: PS Plus Version of Final Fantasy VII Remake Can Be Upgraded to PS5 Version for Free from Wednesday
Re: Sony Is Releasing Official PS5 Console Covers in 2022
The black one with the PS2 blue logo and etching on it would have been nice for its 20th anniversary. And use the original colours for the PS symbol on the top left.
Re: PS5 Controllers Coming in Pink, Blue, and Purple in January
I'll get one when they eventually make a translucent blue or green one.
Or an 'original grey' with the coloured PS button.
Re: Former Silent Hill Developers Announce Slitterhead
If the trailer is anything to go by it looks like an action horror. I would have preferred the Erie slow paced gameplay from Silent Hill.
I'll keep it on my radar though. Anything horror is an interest for me.
Re: Persona 4 Arena Ultimax Combos to PS4 in March 2022
I would prefer Persona 4 Golden to release on PS4/5 but I'll still buy this just to show my support to Atlus.
Re: Scuf Reveals First Line of Third-Party PS5 Controllers, Prices Start at $200
Woah! And I thought Sony was expensive.
Re: BBC iPlayer Is Now Available on PS5
@themightyant
Well I'm 34 now and used to watch the original run on Saturday mornings on UK GOLD.
Re: BBC iPlayer Is Now Available on PS5
@MightyDemon82
Re: BBC iPlayer Is Now Available on PS5
After (in my opinion) Chris Chibnall destroyed Doctor Who with his ridiculous storyline, terrible writing and cringy acting from Jodie Whittaker, coming from a fan that has watched every episode from the first in 1963, I told the BBC to shove their TV licence where the sun don't shine.
Good for people that still watch the BBC I suppose.
Re: Rockstar Apologises for the State of GTA Trilogy on PS5, PS4
It just sounds like a typical corporate greed situation of "rush it out for Christmas sales, money now, fix later".
I dislike how gaming has become more corporate and greedy. I mean it was always sort of like that but in the 80's and 90's Devs actually gave a damn about game production and fun.
Re: Talking Point: Is Sony Being Stingy with PS5's First-Party Pricing?
@MFTWrecks
I'm a sucker for Pokèmon unfortunately. And Zelda games. Even so, generally the price of Sony first parties are now more expensive than Nintendo's. At launch anyway. Nintendo games never really drop in price by much if at all.
Re: Talking Point: Is Sony Being Stingy with PS5's First-Party Pricing?
@B_Lindz
To be fair Sony's first party games are now more expensive than Nintendo's.
Re: Talking Point: Is Sony Being Stingy with PS5's First-Party Pricing?
@auditor01
They haven't increased in a long time in some countries but here in the UK they did. At the start of the PS4 generation they went up from an average of £39.99 during the PS3/X360 generation to £54.99 and then increased again at the start of the PS5 generation to £69.99 each. That's a big jump in just 7-8 years to almost double the price.
Re: Talking Point: Is Sony Being Stingy with PS5's First-Party Pricing?
Re: Tencent Acquires Minority Stake in Yooka-Laylee Dev Playtonic
You would have thought they'd be against selling any of their business since the whole reason they exist is that they are the original RARE team that broke away from Microsoft.
Strange. I hope it doesn't impact their quality. I loved Yooka-Laylee and it felt like taking a step back in time to the 90's playing them.
Edit. Also I don't know a lot about Tencent but I hear a lot of people claim they are bad. Can anyone explain why?
