Sony shouldn't back down. They beg so much for PlayStation games then they should suck it up. You'd think if they want them that bad they'd stop stomping their feet like entitled children.
Personally I'm loving the game. I was there day one. I don't know why people say the character creation is bad, it's literally one of the most I'm depth I've ever seen. They complain you can't make female bust sizes bigger (you can, I created a female character), they say it's riddled with woke stuff, I'm halfway through the game and the only thing that resembles anything like that is selecting a pronoun at character creation. And one character that complains about her gender.
The game is beautiful looking, well written and polished, no bugs so far at all. And when do games come out like that these days?
And the announcement of no DLC, I'm good with that because we got a complete game at launch. Because in most cases I moved on and don't go back for DLC because I got stuck into something else.
Honestly, BioWare did great here but haters gonna hate. And they'll double down even when they realise they're wrong and baseless on their reasons. Review bombing is incredibly childish. Or entitled behaviour.
I was a backer for this game when it was announced on Kickstarter and while playing it made me feel like a kid with an N64 again I've still yet to finish the original.
And as of now the app kept telling me "something went wrong" when I attempt to access the Stars section as the email says to accept the new T&C's, so I log out and log back in and PS Stars have gone completely.
Typical Sony they have no clue when it comes to software and apps to make them work right. This is one area Microsoft does excel in I can say.
It's worth noting that the app had PlayStation Stars disappear entirely a couple of weeks back which was a bug so this is probably just another bug. I hope so anyway because it helped soften the blow when I started buying more digitally.
I don't know if the person making those comments is trying to pick holes but I don't see the big deal. Do people really need to be wrapped in cotton wool these days?
Unless I'm very mistaken and confused by what this article is saying people just need to lighten up a little these days. Stop making a big deal out of everything. And play. Or don't.
A shame. Sony want their live service games and they have the perfect canvas with Killzone, Socom and Resistance. Why are execs so short sighted? They have the perfect IP's for it and don't use them. Instead they make a flop called Concord.
I'm fortunate to still have my original disc copy of Dino Crisis and Dino Crisis 2 in the cupboard and still play them via my PS2 (with a RetroTink) or my PS3.
This does suck though. Even though I have those I planned on buying this but I won't subscribe to any PS+P or GamePass service.
I don't know what capcom are thinking here or whether Sony have any say on distribution. If this is going to be a market engagement test for interest in the IP then any future potential for Dino Crisis is already extinct. And I've been whining for years on capcom forums and pages for a reboot as many have.
@FlyingPig Completely agree and it's something I've said to a few younger people that weren't around in the 80's/90's that games then had more vision and creativity because they could afford to do it. Games weren't as expensive to make back then so they could take the chance on a flop.
That being said I remember a time when it was said that in those days if a game sold 100,000 copies it was considered a big success. Now a game that doesn't sell a million could be considered a failure.
But yeah. There were so many weird and wacky ones back then that we were spoilt for choice and everything felt like a unique experience because of it. I'm tired of pushing for photo realism. Give me the likes of more Shovel Knight. Remember Nightmare Creatures? And Gauntlet Legends? Those didn't sell well but fantastic games.
Steep asking price for this but I loved it back in the day so I'll end up buying it especially if it has trophies. Weird that I get more excited for PSX ports these days than new games. Either I'm getting older, or they were much better, or both.
They may have crashed into the ground over the last couple of years but let's hope Microsoft doesn't pull out the chequebook and bury them below it like they've done to everything they've bought so far. I don't have much love for Ubisoft these days but anything is better than that company that have no clue what they're doing. I mean they're even having to ask developers where they're going wrong to get games on their platform which says it all really. Even if Tencent take them it's a step up from that hell.
But to be fair Ubisoft have said since the start of this gen that they would be open to offers. And no one has bitten yet it looks like.
@Yousef- For me, nothing beats the authentic experience of the original console. Emulation just can't match the "feel" of that no matter how shiny you make it. I still play my PS2 using retrotink upscalers and the games play great on a modern TV.
Love the art on that disc. If you know, you know ðŸ¤. I'm hyped and looking forward to playing even though I still have the PS2 version and HD remaster the remake models look stunning. I'll probably play as far as the hospital, save it and go back in 5 years when I can deal with the trauma of the nurses. 😆
I never even noticed until you pointed it out so that's how unobtrusive they are. And atleast they're game related unlike Xbox with ads for Pizza. And non removable taking up home screen real estate. And atleast it's not on the tile bar above but on the background of the game instead. On SW Outlaws it shows there is a season pass available.
I literally see nothing wrong with the direction of this game. It's a new timeline and a new character created for it.
Look at Aloy for example. A female lead created for a game and an absolute badass character. One of the best created characters in years too if you ask me.
Look at Lara Croft. A female lead badass character and an iconic character in gaming. There's nothing wrong with a female lead if it fits. Some people need to get a life. Stop looking for reasons to hate and just enjoy it for what it is. Or don't spend your money and shut up, no one is holding a gun to your head.
I've got a friend who anytime he sees a game or movie with a female lead or any kind of importance he starts shouting "it's woke, it's woke, it's woke!" Judging it before even anything is really known about it and judging it without even trying it and often turning out to be wrong. It's tiring because some people are fixated on hating and won't give things a chance.

Maybe we should give Marcus from Borderlands a call to run the financing department of Steam. "No Refunds!" (Unless the product is broken or genuinely unplayable)
@PrettyPawsome Got any proof? Because I've literally never seen any mass outrage on the scale they do with Sony and I follow gaming news almost religiously.
@Pompey71
Yeah 15 years ago in 2009. Since then they've been very minor very occasional DDoS attracts. Steam or Microsoft are no stranger to those either so they're being very selective and childish. They're just cry babies.
Several people here complaining about giving their data away but carry either an Android or iPhone, give either Google or Apple ALL of their data including location wherever they move and don't complain about that.
I never heard any complaints against other publishers requiring an account. WB, Ubisoft, EA, Microsoft, Steam, Rockstar and so many others yet when Sony asks it's like the apocalypse. Weird selective outrage.
Oh Sony, you should stop giving into these children on PC who think they're entitled to anything as soon as they stamp their feet. PC gamers are the biggest cry babies of all. They begged for PlayStation games for years so let them suck it up.
I hope Nintendo never release their games on PC, which is unlikely, because they'll be subjected to the same tantrums of these Steam children. Besides, they all moan about how they hate Nintendo yet have consistently over the years begged and called then anti-consumer for not releasing games on PC. And they pirate everything via an emulator anyway.
I'd just pull the first party titles from PC and see how soon they change their tune over needing something so simple as a login. Or better yet, make your own PlayStation PC client like steam and release them exclusively there. They can't complain then because they'd either have to sign in or miss out.
I hope Sony doesn't backtrack on this. PC gamers begged for years to have PS games on PC and when they finally get them they b*tch and moan about needing an account when they literally need one for every other provider of game publishers too. PC gamers need to learn they can't get their own way by throwing tantrums like children and they need to be shown that review bombing is a childish thing and isn't going to work. If they want PlayStation games liked they've supposedly appeared desperate for over the years then put up with it or get nothing. It's just a sign up, it's not a big deal. And they're basing their concerns over a hack that happened 15 years ago. There are millions of PSN users and we're all fine. Stop being so childish and entitled. Sony should stick to their guns on this since it was declared in advance this time a PSN account would be needed before they bought the game.
@GamingFan4Lyf
The PS5 uses liquid aluminium and air cooling which it can get away with in its form factor. And the liquid aluminium won't last forever either. Most gaming enthusiasts build their PC's using cooling AIO radiators that have to be kept topped up. Big difference in both approaches and cost. You forget that buying in the bulk of thousands Sony get parts very cheaply. A consumer buying the likes of a RTX4050 and a Zen3 will already have exceeded the cost of a PS5 Pro before buying anything else needed. Not to mention that the APU in the consoles is custom made anyway.
@NEStalgia Whether it's a AIO water cooler or liquid metal both forms are recommended to be replaced every 12-24 months. Even if you're using purified/distilled they don't last forever. Each needing a top-up and a replacement in time.
As someone who has been building PC's for 20 years I would challenge anyone to build a PC from scratch with the equivalent PS5 Pro spec. With off the shelf retail parts it can't be done. The GPU equivalent alone is almost the cost of the console then you have to factor in a Zen3 CPU, your motherboard, ram, nvme storage, power supply, expansion cards, cooling system, case, monitor, keyboard, and mouse. Depending on the retailer that's atleast £1500 for a basic setup. Not including Microsoft's extortionate price for Windows 11. I'm not justifying the price of the PS5 Pro but for all the people who are like "I'm going to PC" good luck to you. Good luck waiting 2+ years for games that might not come. Good luck to regular maintenance, good luck to expensive upgrades, good luck to replacing your liquid aluminium and cooling system for optimal performance every 2 years. Good luck to the price of games on Steam these days and good luck to all the third party logins for playing games i.e. Ubisoft, EA, MS, PS, etc.
I was done with PC gaming years ago. I don't care for the headache anymore.
You want to chase live services Sony the bring back the Resistance IP. It's a perfect one to use but also remaster the trilogy while you're at it. The technology is there now to bring back MAG and make it work. Remake MediEvil 2, SOCOM, Killzone approach Amazon for an exclusive Bond game we haven't had one in ages. You've got IP's sitting dormant.
They would say that. They're not going to turn around and say "sorry everyone but the Series S is a pile of garbage and everyone was right that it would hold the gen back because we force every game to be playable on our weak little system that can barely run Minecraft."
No, far easier to say it's under the table politics. Without any proof and even saying the developer who made the game is wrong because we at Microsoft said so. And our captain of the Xbox division is a total saint who never lies and makes stuff up for PR but is really bad at it. If they can prove it I'll believe them. But they can't. This is just clutching at straws from them as usual. The Series S was a mistake. And releasing new models will only make it worse.
Check the big success of the Resident Evil remakes and the sales number for Konami's upcoming Silent Hill 2 Remake. Spyro, Crash, TLoU, MediEvil. Then re-evaluate that statement. Folks like me pay good money for nostalgia. More so than putting out another continuation of a franchise getting stale. And Dino Crisis is a cult classic. Just saying.
I've just redeemed my 10k points for £40 credit, sod it. Just to be safe. That's a grand total of £65 I've had out of them since I started using it. Atleast it's better than nothing and I'll just use that on Until Dawn Remake which then only cost me £20.
@Luminous117 fair enough. I don't see the point in not though since you're not paying for anything and you might get something out of it just for normal habits. Just my thoughts though but to each his own.
I've had a £20 voucher from purchases before and I've currently got enough for another £40 so I might as well cash them in. I went on a bit of a spending spree over the last couple of months because they've had some very aggressive sales on the store. And they just keep coming I've noticed. Obviously they're trying really hard to entice the remaining physical collectors to go digital. While this move doesn't bother me too much (stars) I can see why some people would get upset over a baffling unnecessary change that wasn't doing Sony any harm. It takes a lot of subscription points or purchases to earn enough to make them viable.
@riceNpea Very true and neither keep to their campaign promises. That being said the Tories had to go. So far the only thing about Kier I've seen that interested me is he was born in the same borough as I was, Southwark. 😂. The game looks interesting though I'll keep my eye on this one.
Total snooze fest in my opinion. Although the clips for Indy may have changed my initial early opinions about the game. All depends on the asking price.
@Jay767
I don't think they have any control over it. Bethesda may be the developer by neither they nor Microsoft own the IP so the overall say isn't theirs.
Here we go again. Scalpers are nothing but parasites. Hey, they're trying to feed their families they said back during COVID. What's your excuse now scumbags? The likes of eBay and such should really clamp down on this, they're enabling them in a way. When the Switch 2 is announced best make sure I get my preorder in before these a-holes get there first and I have to wait up to two years for a retail one.
@MrMagic If this is accurate and The Evil Within is free from the potential shackles of Xbox exclusivity I'd be over the moon. Loved those two and was gutted that I might not have gotten to play a third. Microsoft are a blight on this industry that ruin everything they touch.
Except they now have more IP's, more Studios' and more developers than Sony. A huge budget from the big buck corporation they're under and just spent an unbelievable amount that is almost the entirety of Sony Corporation's net worth. And they still act like they can't compete?
If Sony can nurture studios, create great IP's, compelling games and a successful console with a much smaller budget for their gaming division that's not them being bullies. That's your own damn incompetence. You guys have no clue how to run a successful gaming company. You never had any place in this industry and both then and now, like in every industry Microsoft is in, thought you could buy your way to the top and even fail at that.
Then you tried to change the industry because your own incompetence to create great games and a successful console by introducing 'services'. You failed at that too.
You wanted to be the 'Netflix of gaming'. You got your wish because Netflix has been slowly failing for years, in millions of debt, cancelling shows and arguably not as great as their competition. Just like you!
If you're going to make a live service game then be prepared to support it long term and don't think of it like an easy cash grab. Otherwise if you're not prepared to support it don't make it.
Personally I think this shouldn't be legal. I feel if a live service game releases then the publisher/developer should be required and obligated to support it for at least 3 years especially if it's not free to play.
First Anthem didn't get any long term support, and now this. And that feels wrong especially when people paid money for the game expecting it to be supported.
Personally, I'm disappointed their resources went into this and not Dino Crisis.
90% of the Xbox showcase games were third parties that are all coming to PS5. Even Doom and CoD, first party games are coming to PS5. While the Xbox fans cheer as this being the best showcase in years and supposedly PlayStation fans being insecure I'd say it was very kind of Microsoft to pay for the best PlayStation showcase and making an even better job at selling PS5's 😂.
Also, anyone noticed how many times they showed in huge letters "Day One on GamePass?" They're clearly desperate to garner attention towards it aren't they?
Sony should stick to their guns this time and not give in to those over entitled PC bunch. They have to have accounts everywhere else. And if they want to play PlayStation games so bad as they scream about exclusivity then they'll suck it up or miss out. Put them to the test, how bad did they really want to play Sony's games? Because let's face it, they're the biggest whingers of the entire platforms combined.
It was a bit of a shock and rubbed me the wrong way at first but now it's settled in I honestly don't care anymore. I prefer to game on console and as long as I get to play them I'm good with it.
Let this be a message to all other publishers and developers, if Microsoft comes sniffing at your door like a blood hound, whack 'em on the nose with a rolled up newspaper and send them packing if you want to keep your identity and your livelihood.

Re: Metacritic Responds to Ongoing Dragon Age: The Veilguard Review Bombing Campaign
Re: Sony to Short-Change PS Stars Members with PS Plus Renewals Starting Next Year
I've just redeemed my 10k points for £40 credit, sod it. Just to be safe. That's a grand total of £65 I've had out of them since I started using it. Atleast it's better than nothing and I'll just use that on Until Dawn Remake which then only cost me £20.
Re: Sony to Short-Change PS Stars Members with PS Plus Renewals Starting Next Year
@Luminous117 fair enough. I don't see the point in not though since you're not paying for anything and you might get something out of it just for normal habits. Just my thoughts though but to each his own.

@Luminous117
Cancel what? Stars is free. 😂
Re: Sony to Short-Change PS Stars Members with PS Plus Renewals Starting Next Year
I've had a £20 voucher from purchases before and I've currently got enough for another £40 so I might as well cash them in.
Re: Xbox's Sea of Thieves Has Apparently Shipped Over 1 Million Copies on PS5
A little pedantic but how can you ship copies that are digital only. Don't you mean sold. There's nothing physical to 'ship'. 🤔
Re: Explore an Apocalyptic Britain in Atomfall on PS5, PS4 Early Next Year
@riceNpea
Very true and neither keep to their campaign promises. That being said the Tories had to go. So far the only thing about Kier I've seen that interested me is he was born in the same borough as I was, Southwark. 😂.
The game looks interesting though I'll keep my eye on this one.

Alright who voted Excellent? April fools is ages away. 😂
Re: Poll: What Did You Think of Gamescom Opening Night Live 2024?
Total snooze fest in my opinion. Although the clips for Indy may have changed my initial early opinions about the game. All depends on the asking price.
Re: Xbox's Indiana Jones and the Great Circle Comes to PS5 in Spring 2025
@JaBrony123
You don't think it was a Disney decision? Idk maybe or maybe not but it's happening either way.
Re: Xbox's Indiana Jones and the Great Circle Comes to PS5 in Spring 2025
@Jay767
I don't think they have any control over it. Bethesda may be the developer by neither they nor Microsoft own the IP so the overall say isn't theirs.
Re: Beware! Scalpers Reselling Astro Bot PS5 Controllers for Ridiculous Prices
Re: 'We're Back, Baby,' Exclaims Acclaimed Tango Gameworks Director
@MrMagic
If this is accurate and The Evil Within is free from the potential shackles of Xbox exclusivity I'd be over the moon. Loved those two and was gutted that I might not have gotten to play a third. Microsoft are a blight on this industry that ruin everything they touch.
Re: 'PlayStation's Blessed with Marketing Budgets We're Not Able to Enjoy,' Xbox Bigwig Bemoans
Re: Capcom Ends New Content Support for Exoprimal
If you're going to make a live service game then be prepared to support it long term and don't think of it like an easy cash grab. Otherwise if you're not prepared to support it don't make it.
Personally I think this shouldn't be legal. I feel if a live service game releases then the publisher/developer should be required and obligated to support it for at least 3 years especially if it's not free to play.
First Anthem didn't get any long term support, and now this. And that feels wrong especially when people paid money for the game expecting it to be supported.
Personally, I'm disappointed their resources went into this and not Dino Crisis.
Re: PS5 Fans Beg Sony for a More Fulfilling Livestream in the Aftermath of Xbox Show
90% of the Xbox showcase games were third parties that are all coming to PS5.
Re: PC Players Are Fuming Until Dawn, God of War Ragnarok Appear to Require PSN Logins
Re: Silent Hill 2's PS5 Remake Emerges from the Fog on 8th October
Already went ahead and pre-ordered it. I love Silent Hill and been waiting for this remake forever. Can't wait to play it.
Re: Poll: Years Later, How Do You Feel About PlayStation's PC Strategy?
It was a bit of a shock and rubbed me the wrong way at first but now it's settled in I honestly don't care anymore. I prefer to game on console and as long as I get to play them I'm good with it.
Re: Tango Gameworks, Arkane Austin, More Closed in Brutal Bethesda Restructure
Let this be a message to all other publishers and developers, if Microsoft comes sniffing at your door like a blood hound, whack 'em on the nose with a rolled up newspaper and send them packing if you want to keep your identity and your livelihood.
