Re: Poll: Did You Buy Hogwarts Legacy?

@Yinx Bummer to skip an amazing game just because of completionist stuff. I'd definitely consider myself one, but in this game its only an extra 15-20 hours to complete. This is a game that you want to see everything so it's literally a net positive lol

Aside from all the discussion around the topic, this game is absolutely fantastic. Even if you aren't familiar with the franchise, you don't really need to know anything about how things work since this takes place so many years before modern HP.

Aside from the movement mechanics, the combat, smooth exploration, and insanely good attention to detail around every corner... I have to give the highest of praise to the quests and side quests in this game. They have you doing very unique stuff like joining an exclusive wizard dueling club hidden from the staff, or getting tasked with investigating a secret dragon fighting ring where you have to sneak in and set them free.

This whole game is rich and full of passion from start to finish. Easy GOTY contender!

This weekend is consisting of The Great Ace Attorney on Switch as well as continuing Death’s Door which released very recently and is similar to Hades!

Also, a new game called Lamentum finally dropped yesterday. If you can imagine a pixel-art version of Resident Evil that includes limited ammo and saves, lots of really unique puzzles, and exploring a huge creepy mansion in the 1800s, it’s extremely good!

Happy gaming, everyone

@1_W1NG3D_4NG3L Honestly not sure how there is a lull right now, it has been one of the most stacked years for games. Might be a great time to expand the horizons with new variety!

Great Ace Attorney, Skyward Sword, A Plague Tale: Innocence, Yakuza: Like a Dragon, all of the Dragon Quest games, Doom Eternal DLC, the Iki Island expansion for Ghost of Tsushima, Resident Evil 7 & 8, It Takes Two, Ender Lilies, Death's Door, the list goes on and on.

Not even to mention the stuff that's still coming through the next few months. Kena: Bridge of Spirits, Tales of Arise, Metroid, Shin Megami Tensei V, Pokemon remakes, Advance Wars remakes, the Danganronpa collection.

Just finding it super hard to believe there isn't anything exciting to play.

This weekend is going to be full of Monster Hunter Stories 2 and Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Revelation on the 3DS!

I was also able to snag my best friend a PS5 after dozens of attempts, so we're gonna be jumping on Battlefield 4 in preparation for BF 2042 releasing in a few months!

Happy gaming everyone

This is the only review I've seen not bragging about how good the characters and writing is, so I'm gonna vote against PushSquare on this one and assume they had someone review this game who didn't care about it very much from the start. That, or they rushed through it to get the review out.

Bandai been on a hot streak lately, and this doesn't seem to be slowing it down at all. Stoked to play this all weekend!

@pocketjazz Congrats on having a mangeable backlog though!

For starters, you have a really good list! Hollow Knight is one of my all time favorite games, played it 3 times. You are in for a real treat with RE 2 and 3 Remake, loved them both (though 2 is packed with more content and puzzles).

I really want to get to Like A Dragon, but it just doesn't have a spot yet. My current order is Xenoblade, Ratchet, Dragon Quest V, Skyward Sword, Monster Hunter Stories 2, Great Ace Attorney

Oh I forgot about Scarlet Nexus and a few other smaller games. What a great time to be alive haha

Ratchet & Clank of course as we get into E3 proper! I can't wait to see all the conferences and announcements. Sony has already had a good week with a few stellar releases.

Also playing through Xenoblade Chronicles and the new Wonder Boy on Switch. Been a huge fan of that series since a Youtuber named 'HappyConsoleGamer' raved about how good it was!

Hope you all have a great weekend of gaming ahead

I’ll take this opportunity to suggest It Takes Two for everyone reading this!

If you don’t have someone to play with or don’t want to purchase it, let me know and I’d love to play through it with you! You can play the entire game for free as long as one person has a copy of the game

@Wazeddie22

I thought it was really good! Can't really find any complaints about it honestly, aside from the fact that I wish it had more of the horror elements from 7. That game was just so creepy and really well done.

So far I'd probably rate my favorites as 2 Remake, 7, 8, 4, and 3 Remake. Haven't played 0, 1, 5 or 6 (might keep skipping 5 and 6 due to their action changes) but I'm still not convinced I should totally dismiss them. You know?

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 378

@Wazeddie22 The Reaper shouldn't be too bad for ya, I think the 5th palace boss and the final boss were tougher because there is only a couple specific ways to set your party up for the Reaper to where you'll just secure the win haha.

I love RE Village a ton, it had a few scary parts (like the doll mansion) and a couple jump scares, but definitely not as scary as 2 and 7

@weR1youR2Podcast

Glad to see you here again my friend! I'm working towards that Platinum as well for Returnal, what a great game. Will be finishing up RE Village tonight!

Also, you are in for a treat with the Scarlet Nexus demo. It sold me on the game easily if you'd like to add on PSN, my username is heyheyitsatm! Have a great weekend gaming

@gollumb82 That is totally fair haha Morgana can be annoying. They revamped a lot of the battle mechanics and features, such as reloading your bullets after each match instead of making you completely leave the palace, and more in-depth on Baton Pass which made battles really enjoyable.

They also have the new Royal story content which ended up being some of my favorite, but it happens after the original final boss so it's nearly the same game up until that point

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 378

ItsATM

@gollumb82 The boss in the 5th palace is pretty rough in the standard version, but they honestly made it even tougher in Royal. I feel for ya though, having to play the original instead of Royal because of how many improvements it has while at the same time, not being worth playing P5 and Royal one after the other. Atlus did just enough to keep it mostly the same lol

@darkswabber Really good choices on your end! I loved Hades, such a good game.

As far as Immortals is concerned, I was actually pleasantly surprised with how good it is. I saw a lot of people unhappy with how casual the dialogue is, but I think it has a certain charm to it because of how it was expected to be serious. I think Immortals is Ubisoft's best game in recent years

Another great weekend of gaming ahead! I’ll be finishing my first run through RE Village and continuing through Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition in celebration of it’s 1 year since release.

I’m also looking to play through Ratchet & Clank 2016 before Rift Apart comes out in a couple weeks.

What’s everyone else playing during this holiday weekend? Looking forward to it!
