Once again it’s all about the exclusives and one or two of the better multi-plats like RDR2. Not sure if it will top 2017 but it’s looking like an exciting year.
Thank goodness we have so much choice, everyone shouldn’t be catered for.
"But as Jorgensen explained, it’d need to be replaced by another economic model, as the title has no traditional DLC planned."
Here's a radical solution EA - why don't you just simply make a great game?? Make a great game and sales will come flooding in, no need to screw over gamers. Trouble is, EA is rotten to the core.
I boycotted EA a long time ago, I think the last game I bought from then was Bad Company 2, which was great. So no matter what BF2 ended up being like I was never going to acquire it.
EA's behaviour recently is nothing short of shocking - closing down studios, mediocre games and anti-consumer practises screwing gamers over. I can only guess they miss being America's most hated company.
@BAMozzy - are you sure that they are the only Sony TVs that do HDR10? I did some research and last week took delivery of the Bravia XE9005, and I'm sure it does HDR10.
Now that I have sold my standard PS4 I have to wait a month for the blank Friday deals for a PRO. Having a 4K TV without a PRO would be a bit daft.
Damn & blast indeed. The only positive I can take from this is that my backlog will get a good going over. RDR2 and NNKII were the two shining lights this autumn, in what is usually the yearly dross season.
Dirt Rally was an intriguing title, but with limited gaming time and the hardcore nature of the game I never dipped my toe. But Dirt 4 looks like the rally game that will consume some of my gaming budget.
@Flaming_Kaiser - very true and I think a lot of people don't realise how widespread the negativity for the EU is across Europe. If it wasn't for the Eurozone I'm sure the UK wouldn't be the only country leaving.
From a UK perspective, most people generally love Europe (except for maybe Russia), and most things about it but absolutely despise the EU. The idea of the EU is great but it's been badly implemented.
Since my PS4 is only eleven months old the thought of buying the PRO doesn't sit well with me, and the next gaming hardware purchase will be the Switch.
Perhaps in eighteen months time when it's reduced to around the £200 mark I'll get it.
It's worth pointing out that a large contributing factor of the exodus of British game developers over the news was down to the EU. The UK government had to wait years for the EU to allow the UK to give tax breaks to the game industry, due to its rules and regulations. It's just as feasible to suggest that leaving the UK will allow industries to thrive without the EU's beaurocrisy.
There will be positives and negatives of leaving the EU. It won't be as bad as some are suggesting but equally I don't think it will be as good either.
For someone who only got their PS4 around six months ago, albeit the latest revision, who has no interest in PSVR and will probably get the NX within 12 months of launching, I have zero interest in upgrading to PS4K.
My backlog is growing at an alarming rate and unless they patch older games to access the better tech, only newer games will benefit the additional horsepower so my backlog will work just the same whichever version I have.
Customers enjoy owning their tangible asserts, and gaming is no different. Streaming may become a thing, in whatever form it takes but it won't completely overtake physical.
Who knows whether this will happen, but they said the same with vinyl, and although many changes have occurred and music streaming is hugely popular vinyl sales have never been healthier.
I just can't see the majority of gamers excepting not being able to buy physical copies of their games. The industry is already in decline, at least from console perspective, and streaming only could really put people off for good.

Re: What Happens When You Show Shadow of the Colossus to a Kid?
Never played SOTC before and I was really excited to play it, but seeing articles and videos like this has dampened my enthusiasm some what.

Good review too.
Re: Star Wars Battlefront Free with PlayStation Plus If You're New
@get2sammyb - One of the funniest comments ever on PS. I actually burst out laughing in Dusseldorf airport while waiting for my delayed ba flight.

Re: Retail Copies of Gravity Rush Remastered Are Now a Rarity
@carlos82 - definitely get it for that price. Best I've found is £45 on Amazon, and I've tried all the usual online suspects.
Seems as if it's hard to get it in the UK as well for a decent price.

Re: Pre-Order Prices of PS4 Blockbusters Plunge on Amazon UK
Or, wait two months and they'll be at least 20% cheaper than above, or wait six months and they'll be cheaper than an Indian take away for two.
Re: Your First Look at Dark Souls III's DLC Is Delicious
There goes my Dark Souls III purchase with the inevitable GOTY edition. At least it gives me time to clear some of my backlog.
Re: Guide: Amazon Prime Day 2016 - Best PS4 Deals
The price for Uncharted 4 is sweet but I refuse to sign a deal with the devil. Would rather support small independant outlets who are usually cheaper.

@themcnoisy - ok just to be clear, I'm referring to recent times. Of course nothing can eclipse the 60s.
