Jesus...is it that boring a time in gaming?. Assumptions and speculation. Facts are what counts. The heat won't be a problem. How about Sony went too cautious with the original cooling design and they now realised after almost a year that they can use less cooling materials and still have little issues?
No. Loved it at launch on my PS4 Pro. No need to spend £25 for a 5 hour long island. I already get 60fps gameplay with the original game on my PS5 so can't justify the price for just a short stint on a new island...
The original PS4 game was great...no doubt. The PS5 upgrade was great with a 60fps boost...using back compatibility.... but £25 is alot for a 5 hour expansion and slight resolution boost. The whole package is great for new players to the game but it should be £15 at the most....
Desperate for a story in the slow summer months?. The gaming scene in Japan is very different to the one of ten years ago.. The Japanese game different to how they once did. This is also why we see so many games tailored to Western tastes these days and to be honest that means very stereotypical designs, little to no fresh ideas and nothing outrageous or unique.
Only the Yakuza,Judgement series has that Japanese feel of crazy ideas, random designs and weird gameplayvideas and it's great. Scarlett Nexus offered a flavour of Japanese gaming by design ...unfortunately not many people take enough interest in these title's. The new Tales title might offer some more traditional Jrpg gameplay?.
Not surprised by the Japanese charts...its nothing new.
Nooooooo. Let's leave all these cash grab remasters and remakes where they belong. Unless it's a complete makeover like Demons Souls I would prefer they leave it be...
Was a pretty good game at the time but never went back to it after beating it.
It's disrespectful though that Sonys PS5 is ignored as the game is out on those systems so the fair thing would be to upgrade the PS4 version too for the PS5. PS4 owners supported the studio by buying the game when it released.
Would love a fully fledged outing of Astro Bot. The first game in years to rival Mario's 3D adventures. The VR version was truly mind blowing and a great ,fresh gameplay experience.
No. Its nonsense. Before PS5 and Series X were released both platform holders said all this power will allow for new ideas and innovation, along with new ips and gameplay concepts....so far after 9 months I've seen very little of this. Its remakes, remasters, upgrades both free and paid for and hardly anything that looks to be fresh or new...its more bollocks and *****. AAA games will hardly ever takes risks due to costs and investors. Death Stranding was actually a great game that tried new things in both story and design and yet half the people disliked it....scared of new concepts...
Service games, online multiplayer rubbish with hidden or open charges....
Gaming is quite the bore fest this past year and looking at future releases it seems to be not getting much better....
Nothing wrong with Dead Space but this remaster/remake bollocks is already worse than the previous gen. Brand new powerhouse consoles that are said to innovate gaming and yet I see very little of this....its actually pretty boring ...especially for a guy who has gamed from the first day it started.
The stealth gameplay grated on PS4....and there are some pretty bad stiff animation and issues with cut scenes. Game is good, made better on PS5 by 60fps...
No need for concern. Its all because of back compatibility. PS5 has decent back compatibility but it's not as good as what MS has for SX. One X version will be used for SX and Pro version for PS5....1080 60 was obvious and the Pro will struggle with hitches when pushing 60fps...
The game has an interesting premise but looks rough around the edges so I will wait to see how it develops over the coming days and weeks...
An incredible game....let's leave it there. I've paid for it day 1 ps3, day 2 PS4 remake....Sony can piss off if they think I am buying it again....no matter how good it looks.
Never understood the hype. Yes the original PC game was technically incredible at the time....but the game is still average at best . Crysis 2 was a better game .... I would look at it in a sale, maybe?. Its still running back compat from PS4 Pro so it can't hit native 4K .... its held back but either way...60fps will certainly help the game...but the gameplay is still the same.
I don't recall this topic being about Gamepass? Personally though whilst on that topic, I won't touch Gamepass or PS Now...simple reason. As a veteran gamer from the 70s and one who likes to own what he buys....its physical all the way when possible. Remember, you never fully own a digital game...
No game is worth £70. Although...Dulixe Fifa, COD,Creeds.... all over £70 with season passes etc... I've never paid more than £40 for any major PS4 exclusive....£70 is really too high. I have veteran gaming friends who have gamed since the 70s like myself and none are pre ordering games on PS5....due to these first party prices.
It's similar how digital standard editions are £50 on the PS Store yet I only buy physical and it costs me £40...Digital should be cheaper than physical.
Only way this will change is if people stop buying the games...its simple. Hit Sony un sales ,make a stand, prices will soon change.
I would not be too worried. Its average. Stiff and jilted animation. Framerate and Framepacing issues. Badly synced cut scenes....a dual screen mechanic that's not pushed hard enough...
It is more akin to Silent Hill but with none of that story quality, horror and sheer unsettling nature of Konami's first 2 games in the SH series.
It's as if Bloober Team had a great idea but not thr man power or production level to bring it to the top. It's not a poor game, or a great one...
@4kgk2 Really?. £70 is a joke for any video game. Returnal ... £70... an indie studio who make great but short small budget games. I would not pay £50 for a Naughty Dog game....
If Sony wants £70 for exclusives then reviews should be up a week before release or bring in a return for refund if played for no longer than 2 hours.. physical or digital.
Any product you buy you can pretty much return and these products will have been reviewed. Games at £70 that are reviewed on release day or day before is a piss take...Sony may pay the hardest price for this as many people I've spoke to are not happy with £70
Scorns gameplay looks very generic ,great art though.
The Medium is far more interesting to me but the stiff animations and framerate when in dual reality show its indie roots and budget....but bloober teams games tend to be this way and its the unusual horror that keeps you playing...
@get2sammyb This is my issue. I've not been able to import any content from the previous games that I own fully. The"Carry over" process seems to not be working. I tried yesterday and this morning. I moved the first two games from external to console storage in case there is an issue there, nope, still the same. This side of things is a bit sloppy on IOI's part.
Has the stutter been sorted?. Couple of times during matches there is a random stutter/sticking point that almost freezes the action..similar to lag...even with haptics off in game and in PS5s controller options...offline makes no difference either. I dont play it often as it's a casual game but this issue has not been resolved since launch.
The glitches, bugs and lies are a problem... especially for base consoles...on the base systems you will feel cheated.
I love the game on PS5...its back compatibility which is brute forced from the Pro version... I must stress that on PS5 turn off motion blur, Chromatic and film Grain and set the in game gamma correctly and the game is much cleaner and sharper... you may have to redo this every time you start the game as the settings like to reset ...annoying right?
The game world is incredible, so much detail and amazing design...far better than anything I've played since the late 70s...the story and side stories are interesting and quite refreshing with interesting and standard outcomes... the game is so classy by its design but the glitches and bugs are a problem and the performance, especially on base systems is beyond a problem...
I still question why there is no rule and quality control in gaming..?. All new games should be reviewed at least a week before release or both disc and digital need to offer a returns option if customer is unhappy.... easier with digital ...
Cyber is a top top game but weighted under bugs and glitches which vary by system...
A true SX and PS5 upgrade will come close to a good spec PC, no doubt. If Miles Morales can hit 60fps with Ray Tracing this early on then Cyber can certainly look top level on the new consoles.
One of CDPRs worst issues here is saying it will be great on Xbox One and PS4 when its clearly not in a fit state to be sold to customers.
Add to that they blocked all reviews, footage and info about those two versions.
As it stands we have a good version on Series X and PS5 based on back compatibility. PS5 takes the Pro version and unlocks the frame rate to 60 and SX takes the One X and does similar.
Base consoles have been hit hard and I would be pissed too. Its shady and feels like a rip off. SX and PS5 fair alot better but we already knew that the true PS5 and SX editions are due in 2021...Top Spec PC gamers get the best version but I believe a true SX and PS5 version will be very close when released next year..
Not surprised though. Witcher 3 was a ***** show at launch on base consoles and Getalts movement is still the worst in modern times...
I have sympathy with base console owners as you have been mislead...and its frustrating and should be illegal. In any other business this would be a big like fraud.
It's a ***** show on console. Poorly optimised. Even on PS5 its 60fps but at times there are bad dips and stutters, not to mention bugs. Red Dead 2 was superior at launch and pushes better visuals and designs....
Project Red are highly overrated and always have been. The Witcher 3 was a shambles at launch on console...Geralts movement is still shockingly bad and stilted. Cyber ,after all the delays and time has been clearly pushed to show off the highest spec PCs....consoles were a 2nd thought....at least until the true PS5 and SX updates are released.
@NathanUC Really?. 60fps over Ray Tracing all day long. I took a look at both Spiderman games on my PS5 at launch and after 60fps there is no going back...feels like running through soup in 30fps....and to think. We put up with 30fps for years on consoles....
First time I've been disappointed upon turning on my PS5. Fenyx has terrible framepacing on PS5 in performance mode....something is wrong. I've uninstalled it and wont play again till it's fixed or I will sell it. Its night on perfect on SX but not sure why it has these issues on PS5...its not playable at all in this state after all the other solid PS5 games in my collection running at 60fps.... honestly, it's bad on PS5....
@Keyblade-Dan Its a fair point. Sony have pretty much pushed the Yakuza games in the west since PS2. Sega sold out and took the MS money for 4 months advance. Bare in mind the Jap PS4 edition came out months ago.. I hear in Japan it cant be called a Series X exclusive?. Just in the west...
I have it on PS4 as I have the whole series...I will only play this series on Sony platforms as it feels at home. I have nothing against it being on Xbox but it's an odd choice ....
Will certainly make a difference. It does on games like Valhalla and Dirt 5 on my Series X. Though bare in mind, screen tearing is not as bad on PS5 in those titles as it is on SX.
@Bezbot A hefty difference but it was hardly ever seen....PS4 exclusives looked better than anything on my One X... but I do feel base consoles will be a bit rough....
Can someone tell me why it matters?. I play one game at a time. Why have other games sat idle whilst concentrating on say a large open world game?. I do see the need for this?. If people like the idea then good for them. For me, I dont really care.
If it's anything like the Witcher 3 console version at launch it's best to avoid for a while...was messy on PS4 ,that's for sure...hopefully they have learnt from this?..then again they are primary a PC dev team.....
Is that headline a joke?. £70 is ridiculous for a video game. I can understand a higher price if its carts or memory cards but discs or digital... Its bull crap. You're telling me that Demon Souls remake is a £70 game?. Digital will be worse as for some reason digital games are currently way higher than disc on PS4 and One X.
As a counter argument. How come PC titles don't come in at £70 and are generally lower than console game prices and they are optimised for hardware that already exceeds or matches PS5 and Series X... Don't fall for the excuses and crap.
@Medic_Alert Fully agree. Sony are taking the piss and they need to watch their shoulder as MS really seem to mean business with Series X.
Why give a crap rapper a PS5..... Surely give it to someone with a technical gaming position who can preview a PS5.... Not some plonker rubbing it in as he may have got one early?
If I was Sony I would be looking over my shoulder at MS. I am not a fan of subscription services but Gamepass keeps pushing the right buttons. That huge Zenimax acusistion... All MS first party on gamepass, day 1...
MS is really flexing its finance muscles.
I have many friends who game with Sony and all of them have pre ordered a Series X. It's going to be a very close next gen which is great for gamers but MS is really pushing hard and Sony can't compete on a finance level...
As for Metal Gear Remake... That's fine. Bluepoint did a great gamecube remake. Its not something I will jump at through as if its still the same game I've seen it through many times. Let's see what happens. Personally I would prefer a new Silent Hill.
Sony will always have its incredible library. The issue is see in pricing is that Xbox Series S... Its sat at a good price for folk who don't want premium but can happily use Gamepass and get decent quality... Personally I think MS has too many consoles.... Why push Series X but have a lesser console?. When I buy a console I buy the ultimate. Sony I am sure have a plan and pricing may well be the same as MS offerings?...
I keep seeing Gamepass popping up as a god thing.... Not for me. I like to own my games not rent them.
Hopefully Sony gives us their plans this week?... Concerned about the Pre Order program.... Makes it sound like very short supply?... This could potentially be dangerous?. Myself and some friends who have gamed from the 70s all have had place holders on PS5 for months but if we can't get one we have a Series X placed too.... as we want to get into the next gen on Day 1...
Its a tricky business but gamers need to know. Need to save and build a plan to buy....
Sony are not stupid. Getting off to a good start is key. It's like them and MS are waiting to see who goes first?. With both consoles less than 3 months ago one of these guys needs to go first soon.
Sony are managing potential sales well. Hopefully none of the usual eBay nonsense where buyers snap up consoles then wait for no stock and then sell on eBay for silly money...
If stock is short then there will be some peed off Sony gamers...
Two things. To stop the Ebay mass buying and then selling at silly prices..... Or there is going to be extremely limited supply before Xmas and alot of peed off Sony gamers in November?
1,2 and 3 were very good games, especially 2. After that it literally went downhill, more so when new dev teams started producing the later titles...
To bring it back well it needs the original team..... and the gameplay will need alot of new design ideas... It can be done but not so sure it is being done?

Re: Reaction: Why Hasn't PS5's Price and Release Date Been Revealed Yet?
Re: Poll: Did You Buy a PlayStation at Launch 25 Years Ago?
I did but it was an import Japanese console.... Cost me an arm and a leg...
Re: Talking Point: Could PS5 Be Delayed?
It would look bad on Sony if they did delay the PS5. Why? They have already promised a 2020 release..
Re: Sony's Sending Out Yet Another Wave of PS5 Emails
Sony are not stupid. Getting off to a good start is key. It's like them and MS are waiting to see who goes first?. With both consoles less than 3 months ago one of these guys needs to go first soon.
Sony are managing potential sales well. Hopefully none of the usual eBay nonsense where buyers snap up consoles then wait for no stock and then sell on eBay for silly money...
If stock is short then there will be some peed off Sony gamers...
Re: Sony Sets Up Its Own PS5 Pre-Order Page, Only Available to US Residents
Two things. To stop the Ebay mass buying and then selling at silly prices..... Or there is going to be extremely limited supply before Xmas and alot of peed off Sony gamers in November?
Re: What's the Latest on the Rumoured Silent Hill PS5 Project?
1,2 and 3 were very good games, especially 2. After that it literally went downhill, more so when new dev teams started producing the later titles...
To bring it back well it needs the original team..... and the gameplay will need alot of new design ideas... It can be done but not so sure it is being done?
