Anyone else tired of this trend of devs releasing their RPGs as 1.0/a final product, but really it's just early access? I definitely am.

@amatmulisha @CWill97 There is an official novelization of the first Alan Wake game, so that may be a better option for you two if the gameplay isn't doing it for you. I've never read it though, so I can't speak to its quality. It's the only book ever written by Richard Burroughs, so the popular theory is that it was actually written by Sam Lake, creative director at Remedy.

I noticed a big difference when I played this afternoon (and first downloaded the update), but figured it was because I was at home when I had been using it the past few days at my parents'.

Yeah, I'm into this.

I've been over superhero stuff for a minute, but Amy Hennig's involvement definitely intrigues me.

I'm intrigued, but the graphics straight up look like a PS3 remaster of a PS2 game ported to PS4 that's playable on PS5. Maybe it's my phone.

@BIG3 How are you liking The Creative Gene? I have it, but haven't started it yet.

Oh nice, I already have Hulu. I thought I was going to have to get Disney+ for this, but now I don't have to.

@ShogunRok Is the map customizable? I'm hoping I can turn off the icons for all the side activities--not side quests--so I'm not distracted by them when I pull up the map, and then just do the activities I happen upon organically.

I remember really enjoying this game when it came out. I could definitely see myself picking this up.

I'm glad this was well received (by P-Square anyway). I really like DON'T NOD, but always feel like their games are not quite there. It seems like this one is finally the game where their ambition didn't exceed their reach.

Sadly, it'll have to wait though. 2024 is pretty stacked for me, so I'll have to wait for a sale or if I end up having some time between other releases.

@AhmadSumadi It's crazy weird. I'm looking forward to this game, because I like stylish character action games, but everybody fixating on the attractiveness of the main character is starting to make me feel gross. Unattractive ladies, attractive ones, I'm down with all, because I like diversity. I wish we could ignore that aspect and just focus on the gameplay and story/setting.

Dang. Not surprised at all, but I was hoping they'd find some way to work Cliff in since he's probably my favorite actor. I saw his new film, The Promised Land, today and both the film and his performance were excellent.

I hope not. I bought a Series X over the holidays, so I would have access to their exclusives. Lol

But really, more games on more platforms is only a good thing.

@MathiasBS The music being your biggest issue is honestly kind of wild, because it was done by Akira Yamaoka.

I enjoyed it. I don't see myself ever replaying it, but I'm not upset I spent 2-ish hours on it. I'd probably knock it up to a 6/10, which is fine for a short, free experience.

I learned my lesson with these upgrades the hard way with Death Stranding DC. I pre-ordered it at full price before I knew there was going to be a $10 upgrade. Never got my money back on that one, but oh well.

I'm happy No Return is a separate trophy list. Roguelikes don't do anything for me, so it's nice to know I can ignore it and still get the PS5 platinum for the base game.

@Americansamurai1 I wouldn't say it was a major part of her character. I only recall them talking about it once while in a synagogue. The show can easily not have a scene in a synagogue and it becomes a non-issue.

@Northern_munkey I do feel like Cyberpunk's launch was worse than any of the Witcher games. The Witcher 2, my favorite in the series, was my introduction to CDPR's games, and I don't remember its (or TW3's) issues being nearly as bad as Cyberpunk's.

Loved Phantom Liberty, my favorite RPG experience of 2023. A bit surprised how quickly those TW3 expansions came out after the initial game, but they CRPR definitely showed a devotion to their game that is somewhat admirable.

Interesting read! I'll have to check out at least Detention. Between this, listening to a lot of Elephant Gym, and recently attending a film retrospective on Edward Yang, I have apparently been on a bit of a Taiwan kick lately.

I really need to get around to A Space for the Unbound. I've been waiting for a significant sale, but it seems like a game I wouldn't mind paying full price for.

I'm glad people really enjoyed this game, but I just don't **** with what RE is selling nowadays. The B-horror campiness has become really grating to me.

I'm aiming to play through the entire Max Payne trilogy in honor of James McCaffrey's passing while I'm at my parents' for the holiday. Should I finish them, I also have my Switch for Persona 4 Golden.

@Bionic-Spencer Imagine if Xbox/Microsoft acquired PornHub, shut down the site and apps, and made it only available through GamePass Ultimate. They'd definitely win the console wars. Lol

I already bought the expansion pass, because I loved the game and definitely want to play both DLC's, but now I'm thinking I'll wait for the second one to drop and incorporate both of them into a complete replay of the game.

Like every year, it was fine. It's not a must-see event, but I always order food, get drunk, and have a fun enough time. People complain about it too much though. They act like Keighley is a monster that forces them to pay for the privilege to watch it when really it streams for free on YT and you can easily ignore it.

Dang. I just saw this, so I missed out. I have all the steelcases so far, so I want this one too. Hopefully they'll do this again if there ends up being a PC release. That's how I got the one for Part I.

@kcarnes9051 Absolutely. Clearly the laws surrounding digital ownership need to change.

@Cherip-the-Ripper I'm not 100% sure. A second-hand market for digital content is certainly a good idea. Maybe the ability to backup and access our content without needing to use whichever library, or required refunds for anything we lose access to. Like I said, I don't really know. It would take much smarter people than me to determine what is possible/realistic. My main point was that us bickering and attacking each over our distribution preferences is not how we should be reacting to this news.

This really sucks. I do think the proceeding conversation needs to be less about whether physical or digital is better, which is clearly what's happening despite ultimately being very subjective, and actually be about how the rules surrounding digital ownership need to change. I would love to be an all physical media person, but realistically I just don't have the physical space for it and don't need or want to display everything I've purchased.

Adding in the metro system and romantic hangouts means I'll definitely be replaying this in the near-future.

I'm a bit surprised people want NG+ in this game. Isn't the fun of replaying RPG's to make an entirely new character and see how making different choices and using different builds changes the experience? Still sucks it's not there for the people who wanted it. Hopefully in the next one!
