Re: Upgraded PS5 Controller with Hugely Improved Battery Life Spotted

Steel76

I'm mostly playing wired now. Feels like I have to charge the damn thing all the time otherwise.

Same with the controllers for the PSVR2.
In comparison, the Quest 3 controllers, runs off one AA battery each, and after one month, the battery is still at 90%. I wish there was an option for AA batteries on Sony's controllers, so you could add rechargeable ones, if you wanted to.

The AA batteries in my Xbox controllers, last for weeks. That's why a prefer if chargeable batteries always was an option. It's also easier to replace, when it dies, without having to open up the entire controller.

Re: New PSVR2 Games Release Dates in 2024

Steel76

I was looking for what exclusives is coming up for PSVR2, before I decided to sell it (I also own a Quest 3, for native and PCVR games), and seeing the lack of titles for 2024, just made the choice easier.

Might give it another shot, in a year or two, if Sony actually makes some exclusives for the system.

Re: Believe It or Not, PS4 Sales Rocketed in the UK Last Year

Steel76

Most of my friends are still using their PS4, with no interest in upgrading yet. Plus there are a huge catalogue of great games, at a cheap price, to keep them using the PS4 for a long time.

Not everyone jumps on the new system on release, but instead waits until mid-gen, when they can get a console at a cheaper price. Personally, I think the PS4 gen, was more fun, compared to the PS5 gen so far. So if I wasn't a hardcore gamer, I would probably also have stuck with the PS4, for another year or two.

Re: God of War Creator Says Kratos Has Lost His Way

Steel76

I miss old God of War.
It was fast paced epic action, and felt like a proper video game, instead of a interactive movie.
Now it's too much about drama and feelings.
Too much Oscars/Awards bait.

I guess this is why I'm totally burned out on cinematic story focused games, and moved on to games that focus on gameplay.

But, just bring on all the comments of how wrong I am.

Re: Rumour: PS5 Pro Targeting September 2024, Will Have Proprietary Upscaling Tech

Steel76

Good. Maybe we finally can get rid of reprojection, in PSVR2 games, and keep them running in native 90fps.

It about time as well. More demanding titles, are already starting to dip lower and lower in resolutions. Especially in Performance mode.
So if Sony want to keep this gen going, until 2027-2028, we need more power to keep up. Unless we wanna end up with 900p and 30fps for all big AAA titles, in a few years.

People who complains about the Pro. No one is forcing you to upgrade. Just stick to the standard PS5, if your happy with it.
Same as many did, during the PS4 generation.

Re: Poll: Are You Playing God of War Ragnarok: Valhalla?

Steel76

@Toot1st
Yeah, I replayed the original PS2 games, many times. Tried to replay the reboot, but got bored after a few hours. Too much cinematics and slow boring parts. The cinematics in the old games, were short and never interupted the gameplay, in the same way. Plus the platforming etc was more fun. The action was fast and furious.
Also, I don't like what Kratos have become now.
Too much drama.

Re: Hideo Kojima's Death Stranding Documentary Will Air Exclusively on Disney+

Steel76

@evildave333

Yeah, I can barely remember any of the gameplay, from MGS4. Just one boss fight. Other than that, I just remember how painfully long and annoying the cutscenes were. Like a pointless scene of the little girl frying eggs, etc.
I don't remember how long the game was, but it felt like 80 procent of the running time, was spent with those damn cutscenes.

Re: Arizona Sunshine 2 (PSVR2) - A PSVR2 Must-Buy

Steel76

@SgtTruth
I bought a Quest 3, and with AirLink and Steam Link, I can stream my PCVR games, to the headset. I can't detect any inputlag at all with Steam Link. So it really is the best of both worlds. Sure the PSVR2 got better blacks, thanks to Oled, but it's worth sacrificing that, too be able to play both PC and Quest games, wireless, with much clearer lenses, compared to the tiny sweetspot on PSVR2. I really wish that Sony used pancake lenses as well, and gave the option to choose playing with or without the wired connection.

Re: Arizona Sunshine 2 (PSVR2) - A PSVR2 Must-Buy

Steel76

@thefourfoldroot1
It's not holding back anything.
Just look at Asgards Wrath 2, a 70 hour RPG, and Assassins Creed Nexus. Both native Quest 2 games, that is much bigger than any exclusive PSVR2 game.
It's not the hardware holding this game back.
Just mediocre development.

Re: Arizona Sunshine 2 (PSVR2) - A PSVR2 Must-Buy

Steel76

The amount of reprojection in this version, is just horrible., and makes me sick.
So disappointing that developers don't use foveated rendering, to reach native 90fps, instead of using this s***. Such a waste of the PSVR2 features. I think it's time to move over to PCVR again...
