Re: PS5 Simply Can't Match the Pace of 2023 in Europe

Steel76

PS5 is almost 4 years old now. The "Slim" model should be reduced to around $400. Especially after the release of the Pro.

When Sony released the PS3 slim, with a much lower price, the sales exploded. But after the success of the PS4, they got greedy.

Re: Metro Awakening the Subject of New PSVR2 Screenshots

Steel76

Will be playing this on PC. I just hope that it's not yet another short VR game, that only last for about 5-6 hours, and has no replay value.
I also get the feeling that it will be more of an "experience", with a few heavily scripted action moment squeezed in. Which is another problem with a lot of VR games. Less of a full blown game, and more of an interactive "Universal Studios" ride.

I hope I'm wrong about everything above, as I want it to be a proper Metro game, and not a typical VR cash grab.

Re: Trails through Daybreak (PS5) - A Strong Step Forward for Falcom's Fantastic RPG Series

Steel76

Tried to give this series a try, with Cold Steel.
But there is so much filler, that I lost interest after about 20 hours.
The characters are the typical generic ones, that you meet in basically every modern JRPG.
And the dialogue goes on and on and on...
Which is too bad really, because I liked the battle system.

But if this is a complete story, in just ONE game, maybe I'll give it a chance, during a sale.

Re: Konami Producer Would 'Like Nothing Better Than to Work with Hideo Kojima Again'

Steel76

I wish Kojima made games like Snatcher and MGS1 again, before his games became too damn weird, and Hollywood pretentious...

I don't blame "old" Konami, if they got tired of his *****.
And I don't like the way he handled the situation with David Hayter, during the development of MGS5.
Kojima didn't even thank him, for what he did for the series.
Kojima sound like the kind of guy that gladly throws you under the bus, to get his way.

Re: Rumour: Sony's Still Working on PS3 Emulation for PS5

Steel76

I recommend RPCS3, if you have a Gaming PC/Handheld.
Playing Resistance 2, rendered in 1440p, unlocking the framerate to +60fps, with no screen tearing, is such a great experience, compared to the original machine.
So many exclusive games, which had very rough performance and resolutions, on the PS3, now looks and run like remasters, in comparison.

Re: Sony Skips Gamescom Presence for a Fifth Year in a Row

Steel76

Too be honest. Except for Astrobot, I doubt my PS5 will get much use this year. Since I mostly game on PC and Switch, the PS5 is just a dust collector now. Maybe next year will be better, but I've been saying that to myself, for four years in a row now. I know some are very happy with the games released on the console. But I guess I'm just not interested in the type of AAA games, that Sony makes today. Their focus on third person cinematic games, like Horizon, God of War and Last of Us, are just boring to me now, compared to back in the PS3 era, when games like Uncharted felt fresh and exciting.

Re: Poll: Was Summer Game Fest 2024 Great or a Letdown?

Steel76

I didn't watch it live. I waited until it was over, and then skimmed through it on youtube. I always do this, so I don't have to suffer through all the boring ***** live.

There was maybe 2-3 games, that was interesting. The rest was just the same crap, we've had for years now. CGI trailers should be banned...

Re: Ubisoft Calls in Second Studio for Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Remake

Steel76

Bought the original on PC, a while back, and the artstyle still looks great, especially in 4K.
Even the PS2 version still looks great on a CRT.

That's why I prefer games with artstyles like this, instead of photorealism, as they age MUCH better.

A remaster of the original version, with some QoL improvements, rendered in 4K, would have been enough.

Re: Summer Game Fest Will Focus on Existing Games, Not Massive Announcements

Steel76

I can seriously not think of any game, that I'm truly looking forward to, this year, except for Astrobot.
I'm just so damn tired of boring cinematic games, Souls-likes, post apocalyptic misery simulators, military FPS etc.

Too me, the world is a total mess, so it's the perfect timing for a game like Astrobot to cheer us up a bit.

Re: Random: What Happens to Your Digital PSN Library When You Die?

Steel76

And about not owning digital.
I can download backups of Steam games, and save them on a physical device forever. Same with GOG etc. Been digital on PC for 18 years now, and I haven't lost a single game. Even if Steam lose the license for a game, if I bought it, I can still download it from them.

Edit: Though sadly you can't make backup of digital games on PSN, to keep them safe on external storage.
