Re: Remedy Offers Control 2 Insight, AAA Action RPG on €50 Million Budget

Steel76

So how about making a 10 million dollar game instead?
Does everything have to be a gigantic AAA cinematic "experience" now?

The industry needs to slow the ***** down, or no future game, will make back the money they spent on it. Unless they expect us to pay $150 for a standard edition game, in 5-10 years...

But if the industry crash and burn, then they got no one else, but themselves, to blame for all of this.

Re: Review: PS5 Pro - An Impressive Yet Inconsistent Upgrade

Steel76

I got the chance to borrow a Pro this weekend.
Spider-Man is sharper, but there is also this noise in the image (yes filmgrain is turned off, that isn't there on the OG PS5. This is also VERY noticable i Alan Wake II. According to DF, this is a problem with PSSR. Silent Hill 2 remake, also suffers from artifact, that are not there on OG PS5.

DF takes a deep dive into Alan Wake II on PS5 Pro.

Re: Hands On: Spider-Man 2 All in on Ray Tracing for PS5 Pro

@Nexozi
You do know, that a smart phone, can do A LOT more, and is of more use, than a video game console?
And I doubt most people pay the full amount, as they add it to their monthly plan, instead.

Though I'm personally fine with my $300 phone, just as I'm fine with my OG PS5.

Re: Where To Buy PS5 Pro

Steel76

Plenty of consoles on stock everywhere, here in Sweden. Even the pre-order slots, were never filled. So I guess the scalpers, skipped this one 😁

Re: PS5 Pro Has a Remarkable Impact on Unpatched Games Too

Steel76

Still pretty bad framerate, during those epic fights.
And damn, is the scaling artifacts going crazy, during the fights.

Since the game has dynamic scaling, and still can't stay locked at 60, on the more powerful hardware, I suspect they will lower the resolution, when they patch it with PSSR.
Graphics looks better on the Quality mode on Pro, but that video didn't show us the framerates, in that mode.

Re: Dragon's Dogma 2 Set to Run Significantly Better on PS5 Pro, Early Footage Reveals

Steel76

@viktorcode
Kinda expected that. With PSSR, the developers, will get even more lazy.

I feared this would happen, as soon as upscalers like DLSS and FSR arrived. It's great for weaker hardware. But when it also have to be used on the most powerful hardware, then something has gone very wrong.
And slap some frame generation on that, with plenty of input lag, due to low native framerates...

Re: PS5 Pro Could Seriously Improve the Quality of Your PS4 Games

Steel76

You need to stop overhyping the console, or it will be met with disappointments, when it can't make the PS4 games any better, due to locked framerates, or other engine related limitations.

Slow down, and let's see what it's REALLY capable off.
Remember all the hype for the PS4 Pro?
We mostly just got 1440p, over 1080p, due to checkerboarding, and the games stayed locked at 30fps.

Still having "Performance" and "Graphics mode" on the PS5 Pro, means we will STILL have to make sacrifices for 60fps, just like the OG PS5. I fear that most people expect some kind of next-gen leap, which will not be the case here.

So far, FF Rebirth, is the only game that really seems to benefit from the updated hardware.

Re: PS5 Pro was a '5-Year Project', In Development Before PS5's Launch

Steel76

I miss the PS1-PS3 era.
Where games became more impressive and ran better, further into the generation, when they really knew how to optimize for the hardware. Even though the PS3 was really hard to program, and the 360 ports turned out better, in the first half of that generation, eventually they really knew how to make games, that finally took advantage of the hardware.

All that sadly ended, with the PS4...
Now consoles, are just gaming PC:s, with their own OS...

And I bet it's just gonna get worse from here...
First PS6, then PS6 Pro, and then PS6 Pro Elite, for only $2000
