Re: Poll: What Did You Think of Sony's State of Play for May 2024?

Steel76

New Astrobot looks great.
Sooo...yeah, I guess that was it for me.

That new Astrobot game, will probably be the only game, at the moment, that keeps me from selling my PS5.
For the last 12 months, Final Fantasy XVI and Stellar Blade, are the only new games I used it for, as I'm otherwise playing on my PC.

If 2025, becomes just as boring as this year (so far), when it comes to exclusives, then I'm done with Playstation (and Xbox) consoles.

@naruball
The haptics is a bit stronger on PSVR2.
That's the only thing I miss from that VR set.
The Quest 3 controller are smaller and more comfortable to use. When you aim down a sight, or reload a gun etc. you don't have big tracking rings, getting in the way.

@tropeful
Quest 3 has higher resolution, using 2064x2208.
120hz as well, and no annoying mura.
And the pancake lenses, is sharp from edge to edge, compared to the PSVR2, where you have to be in the sweetspot, and it's still not sharp all the way to the edges.
Sure, PSVR2 has better blacks, but everything else, is worse.

If you already got a PSVR2 then this is great news.
But if you haven't gotten one yet, I recommend getting a Quest 3 instead. That way you can play wireless, and also get MUCH better resolution and sharpness. Plus you don't have to chase for the sweetspot, which is horrible on PSVR2.

I do miss the PSVR2 controllers though, which had excellent haptics.

Re: Three Years Later, Dragon Quest 12 Is Still Nowhere to Be Seen on Dragon Quest Day

Steel76

When will they learn, to NEVER announce a game, when all you got is a logo or CGI trailer, and development barely has even begun.
Better to wait, when you are at least 75% done with the game. Otherwise we get a teaser and then we have to wait for 5-7 for the game to be released, incl delays.

I expect this to be yet another Metroid Prime 4 situation...

I hope we still get turn-based combat.

Re: Helldivers 2 Dev Says It's Seen 'Horrifying' Toxicity from Some of the Community

There is a reason why I don't play online games, and it's been the same, since the early days.
I remember being told, by a kid, to go F myself, when trying Battlefield online on the 360 ๐Ÿ˜‚

I wish there was a proper single player mode, in the game. Yes you can play it alone, but it gets pretty much impossible to survive later in the game, going solo.

Re: Bloober Team Says Silent Hill 2 Remake Its 'Most Important Test'

Steel76

@MrBook
Yeah, I didn't play it, back when it was new.
I took a break from gaming, during most of the PS2 generation. So last month I started to play a bunch of PS2 games, I never got the chance to play back in the day. Maybe I expected too much from the game, but I lost interest, after only 4 hours. It was too damn janky.
Especially the combat, was just frustratingly bad.
Probably would have enjoyed it more, 20 years ago, when we were used to crappy controls/camera.

As someone, that don't have nostalgia for the original, I'm looking forward to a new version.

Re: Returnal Studio Housemarque Teases News for Tomorrow

Steel76

Wasn't a huge fan of Returnal.
And early on, the clues about the twist in the story, became very obvious, which also killed the fun for me. A clichรฉ that's been done to death in movies and tv-shows.
But still, the gameplay was well made.

I just wish they would make more arcade games, between their future AAA games.
