I'm so glad that eastern developed games, are delivering the goods, now when western games, are just getting worse and worse.
Performance mode, is pretty low in resolution, and drops into the 40:s, during intense moments. But mostly seems to stick around 50-60, with some stutters. Still a lot smoother, compared to the quality mode, which looks amazing, but feels like it runs in 20fps, in comparison.
Looks good to me.
The facial animations looks better than a LOT of other games, coming out these days.
Take a look at Starfield, Dragons Dogma 2 etc for bad animations.
Am I the only one, who is getting tired of all the particle FX in modern games? It's getting so over the top, at times, that you can barely see your own character. Everything just becomes a blur, while you button mash, and hope for the best.
Worst case was in FFXVI. And I have seen some heavy moments in Wukong gameplay as well. I don't suffer from epilepsy, but it might be my almost 50 year old eyes, that can't handle the most intense mayhem anymore.
Hope it's better than the first game, which felt like a bad Gears of War clone, with mediocre level layout. Got bored with that one, after only two hours.
It's still shocking, how few native PS5 exclusives, we got, this far into the generation. If this problem continues (might get worse) next gen, then I would probably wait with picking up a PS6, until half the gen has passed. Sony: "We believe in generations", yeah right...
Those clunky 32 bit platformers haven't aged very well. Especially the controls. I never played it, when it was new, otherwise I would probably be able to put the nostalgia goggles on, and get more enjoyment out of it ๐
I'm so glad I can just get a month of Ubisoft+, on PC, instead of buying the game. If it's actually good, then I can keep the save and buy it on sale. I just don't want to risk paying full price for this one. Been burned too many times by Ubisoft, so I rather "rent" the game first.
Yeah, I feel the same.
The lack of innovation, game developers playing it safe, using the same tired old formulas over and over again, have made modern gaming extremely boring. And this goes for both Indie and AAA.
I miss the 80:s and 90:s, when every year brought us something new and original. Checking out the arcades, for the new breakthroughs in gameplay and graphics. And console generations, that took huge leaps in hardware and innovation.
VR didn't manage to shake things up either, due to most games being mediocre and shallow experiences.
The PS3/360 generation, was the last one, that (too me) was still truly fun. But the crap that would plague future generations, sadly began during the last years, of that one.
We had a couple of brutal heatwaves, over here in Sweden lately. I can't stand the heat (gets worse with age), so I mostly hide from the sun, like a vampire, playing video games or watch movies, until the rain comes.
Will be playing this on PC. I just hope that it's not yet another short VR game, that only last for about 5-6 hours, and has no replay value. I also get the feeling that it will be more of an "experience", with a few heavily scripted action moment squeezed in. Which is another problem with a lot of VR games. Less of a full blown game, and more of an interactive "Universal Studios" ride.
I hope I'm wrong about everything above, as I want it to be a proper Metro game, and not a typical VR cash grab.
How do people even have time to play these endless F2P games? Tried two of them for about two hours until I realised that it would eat up all my free time to play them. Just like those online MMO games.
Tried to give this series a try, with Cold Steel. But there is so much filler, that I lost interest after about 20 hours. The characters are the typical generic ones, that you meet in basically every modern JRPG. And the dialogue goes on and on and on... Which is too bad really, because I liked the battle system.
But if this is a complete story, in just ONE game, maybe I'll give it a chance, during a sale.
I wish Kojima made games like Snatcher and MGS1 again, before his games became too damn weird, and Hollywood pretentious...
I don't blame "old" Konami, if they got tired of his *****.
And I don't like the way he handled the situation with David Hayter, during the development of MGS5.
Kojima didn't even thank him, for what he did for the series.
Kojima sound like the kind of guy that gladly throws you under the bus, to get his way.
Well the arcade was pretty much an open city area, as you could drive anywhere, instead of being a linear racer like Outrun and Sega Rally. So open world works for me, as long as it keeps the fast pace.
This is basically what the original PS2 game looks like, when rendering in 4K on an emulator. Pretty lazy remaster. They could at least have added new high res textures.
I recommend RPCS3, if you have a Gaming PC/Handheld. Playing Resistance 2, rendered in 1440p, unlocking the framerate to +60fps, with no screen tearing, is such a great experience, compared to the original machine. So many exclusive games, which had very rough performance and resolutions, on the PS3, now looks and run like remasters, in comparison.
I play games to relax and have some fun, instead of trying to awaken my inner Hulk. At almost 50, I just don't have the patience anymore, to "git gud", in frustrating games.

I bet the PS5 Pro will do wonders to this game.
Re: Sonic X Shadow Generations Goes Nostalgia Overload with Dreamcast-Heavy Collector's Edition
$250?!
These collectors editions are getting stupid expensive. If people only knew how cheap it is to make all that tat today.
Re: Preview: Silent Hill 2 PS5 Grows in the Right Ways for Anticipated Remake
@KillerBoy
Just like the original then?
Re: Preview: Silent Hill 2 PS5 Grows in the Right Ways for Anticipated Remake
Looking forward to it.
I just couldn't get into the original, due to the clunky controls and combat.
Re: Hands On: Black Myth: Wukong Is Brilliant, But We Have PS5 Concerns
Wait for the Pro, by then the game will probably have gotten some patches (incl a Pro patch), and is sold at a lower price.
Re: Poll: Are You Hyped for Gamescom 2024?
I never get hyped about these events anymore.
And I can't stand Geoff, so I'll just read about the announcements afterwards, as usual.
Re: Never Has a Game Looked So Good Yet So Jank as PS5's Neo Berlin 2087
Looks good to me.

Re: Concord Fires Off Another Salvo of PS5, PC Character Trailers
This game, feels like it was made by a guy, who wrote "make generic MP shooter" into the AI, and pressed enter.
Re: Poll: Rate Your Favourite PS5 Roguelike Games
Vampire Survivor and Dead Cells, with the Castlevania DLC.
Re: Square Enix Has Got Fans Talking About a Final Fantasy 13 Remake, Not a Remaster
Sure, and lets put in enough bloat in there, to make it another trilogy ๐
Seriously though, as a comment mentioned above, I would also rather have a Parasite Eve remake. Or some other classic from the PS1 generation.
Re: Ubisoft Suggests More Development Time Required for Future Assassin's Creed Games
The less AC games we get, each generation, the better. How are people not burned out yet??
Re: Beware! Scalpers Reselling Astro Bot PS5 Controllers for Ridiculous Prices
I'm so glad I'm not part of the FOMO crowd.
Every time something Limited is released, the scalpers go for instant kill.
It's a cool looking controller, but I'm fine with my Midnight Black.
Not worth the stress hunting for this stuff.
Re: Movie Review: Borderlands - As Bland As the Brand It's Based On
I couldn't even finish the trailer...
Always found Borderlands "comedy" to be more annoying, than funny.

Re: PS5 Sales Reach 60 Million Milestone, Now at 61.7 Million Consoles Sold
@MrMagic
Yeah, I meant proper PS5 exclusives, games not available on any other console. Stuff like Returnal, R&C Rift Apart, Demon Souls remake, etc.
Re: PS5 Sales Reach 60 Million Milestone, Now at 61.7 Million Consoles Sold

Re: Mini Review: CYGNI: All Guns Blazing (PS5) - A Stunning, Short-Lived Shmup
Great, can we get Gradius VI and Axelay 2 next?
Re: Preview: Star Wars Outlaws Thrives in Its Rewarding Open World
Gonna play it on Ubisoft+ on PC.
Their games are not worth buying, as I only play them once.
And I don't have any high hopes for this one anyways.
Re: Poll: Are You Playing Tomba! Special Edition?
Those clunky 32 bit platformers haven't aged very well. Especially the controls.
I never played it, when it was new, otherwise I would probably be able to put the nostalgia goggles on, and get more enjoyment out of it ๐

Re: Astro Bot Continues Its Quest for PS5 Game of the Year with Sublime Gameplay Demo
I watched 10 seconds. I don't want to spoil the fun.
Re: Poll: Are You Sick of Soulslike Games?

Yeah, I feel the same.
The lack of innovation, game developers playing it safe, using the same tired old formulas over and over again, have made modern gaming extremely boring. And this goes for both Indie and AAA.

Re: Poll: Are You Sick of Soulslike Games?
I'm just tired of basically 99% of all new hack n slash games, being souls-like.
Doesn't help that most of them looks the same.
You could take screenshots from 5 games, and it still looks like it's part of the same one.
Sekiro is probably the only one I enjoyed.
Re: Video: Our Most Anticipated PS5 Games Of Late 2024
YS X, Visions of Mana, and of course: Astrobot!
Re: Poll: What Are Your Summer Gaming Habits?
We had a couple of brutal heatwaves, over here in Sweden lately.
I can't stand the heat (gets worse with age), so I mostly hide from the sun, like a vampire, playing video games or watch movies, until the rain comes.
Re: 'Unpolished' Star Wars Outlaws Gameplay Gets Blasted, But Ubisoft Insists on August Release Date
So I'll guess I'll just wait for the "Complete Edition" a year or two from now, with all the DLC and bugfixes.
Re: Poll: Are You Playing the Concord Open Beta?
I hope Sony spent a LOT of money on this one.
They need to get burned badly, so they learn not to make more crap like this.
Re: Only Two New PS5 Titles Infiltrated the European Top Ten for the First Half of 2024
It's insane that decade old games, like GTA 5 and Fallout 4 are still on these lists.
It's almost as if we had seen, later PS1 games, in the top 10 lists, during the PS3 generation.
Re: PS5 Simply Can't Match the Pace of 2023 in Europe
PS5 is almost 4 years old now. The "Slim" model should be reduced to around $400. Especially after the release of the Pro.
When Sony released the PS3 slim, with a much lower price, the sales exploded. But after the success of the PS4, they got greedy.
Re: Check Out a Full 10 Minute Star Wars Outlaws Quest on PS5
I'll give it a try on Ubisoft+.
These games usually have zero replay value, so I rather just "rent" the game.
Re: Preview: Ignore The Haters, Concord Is a Good PS5 Shooter We Can't Wait to Play More Of
Well, guess Iยดm just another one of those "haters" then.
I bet that, if this wasn't a first party exclusive, even Push Square would think it sucked
The game will be dead, within a month.
Re: New PS5 Games Release Dates in 2024
Except for Astrobot and Doom, I don't feel any hype for anything else coming up.
Feels like a long break from gaming, might be coming up soon.
Re: Legendary Shmup Series Raiden Will Be Reborn As a Twin-Stick Shooter on PS5, PS4
The last Raiden game, I really loved, was Raiden DX.
Re: Metro Awakening the Subject of New PSVR2 Screenshots

Re: Space Marine 2 Going Gold Ahead of PS5 September Launch
Well, I hope it's better, than the original.
That one got way too repetitive, after just an hour or two, and the level design was boring.
Re: Gacha Sensation Zenless Zone Zero Surpasses 50 Million Downloads Across All Platforms

Re: Netflix's Horizon Zero Dawn TV Show Reportedly on Ice
These modern tv-shows are so damn boring anyway.
No matter if it's sci-fi, fantasy or horror, they always turn into boring soap operas...

@PegasusActual93 Not anyway near Death Stranding.

Re: Astro Bot PS5 Took 60 Developers Around Three Years to Make
I hope this sells enough, to make Sony realize, that they don't need to spend $300 million, and 6-7 years to make a first party game.

Re: Rumour: Sony's Still Working on PS3 Emulation for PS5

Playing Resistance 2, rendered in 1440p, unlocking the framerate to +60fps, with no screen tearing, is such a great experience, compared to the original machine.
