Re: Tons More Classic PS2 Games Rated for PS4

@get2sammyb
OMG!! Okage!! This was one of my first games! You're going to like that game! It's a JRPG with designs that look a little bit like Nightmare Before Christmas. You play as someone named Aru, and while trying to save your sister you lose your shadow and get possessed by an evil Spirit named Stan. Now you're stuck having to help him on his quest to defeat the other "False" Shadow Kings. It's pretty funny.

Day 1 for me!!!

Re: World of Final Fantasy Lands Cute and Colourful PS4, Vita Trailer

Utena-mobile

@Jaz007
I don't know. maybe I'm reading too much into the trailer, but the impression I got was that the two siblings are from their own world, but they end up getting transported into a different world where everyone is a chibi. A World of Final Fantasy!! They can change forms because they don't belong, that's why at 0:36 the inn keeper gets surprised. Also, notice how Squeenix hasn't shown anyone else being able to change from their chibi forms? Again, reinforcing my theory that the two siblings are different and not from the World of Final Fantasy. Well, with the exception of the lady at 0:40, but she says she's a god, so I'm giving her a pass (maybe she's the one that transports them).

and what's wrong with their design? It's practically the same design used in Kingdom Hearts for Sora, Riku and Kairi.

Re: PS4's Success Is Good for the Games Industry, Suggests Sony

@get2sammyb
The bad thing though, is if there is only one company dominating the scene, then they can get away with certain practices that many gamers would hate. Like, can you imagine if MS was the only one making consoles? This gen we would have Online only, no used games, no sharing, and tons of other draconian policies. It was thanks to Sony and MS's rivalry that Sony decided to reverse on those decisions and force MS to do the same.

Re: Looks Like Star Wars 1313 May Happen After All

Utena-mobile

I like Boba Fett! He's pretty cool, although I'll be the first to say I don't know much about the stories after the movies (I thought he died).

But I want to see more Star Wars stories with original characters. Also, I want it more down to earth (pun, hah). Everyone's so obsessed with Jedi in star wars stories they're practically Mary Sues by this point. Except, isn't being a Jedi (or a force user in general) a pretty rare thing? It would make more sense to play as an original character who ISN'T a Jedi than a main character or a Jedi.
I want to play as an X-wing Pilot with a naive but idealistic view of the galaxy, and although inexperienced with the horrors of war she's always willing to do what is right. Or as a stormtrooper recruit who is there to try to "restore" her father's honor after he left the Empire and joined the Rebellion.

See? more compelling.

Re: Sony: Our First-Party PS4 Lineup Looks Incredible Next Year

Utena-mobile

the same with Microsoft, I don't really care about most of Sony's first party games because I'm not in their target demographic. Gravity Rush and Horizon: Zero Dawn are the only 2 I care about. But it's nice that Sony has all of Japan backing it because it guarantees I'll have more than enough games to keep me happy. (^_^ )

Re: Sony's Open to Acquiring Additional First-Party Studios

Utena-mobile

Bring as many of the original team of Team Silent back together again. They don't have to make horror games if they don't want to, but wow, can they make some really compelling games.

Also whatever company Swery65 is with. He's incredibly experimental (but I would say more refined in his concepts than Suda51).

Re: Japanese Sales Charts: PS4 Numbers Jump as the Holidays Draw Near

Utena-mobile

@Gamer83 @ShogunRok
Well, when I said initially, I meant the original Xbox. But maybe I remember everything wrong. I never owned an Xbox, and the only time I ever played one was the time I had to do a school project and went over to my partner's house to work on the project and he invited a few of his friends as well and we had a LAN party instead. I remember he had a ton of Japanese games besides Halo. lol. maybe he owned all of the Japanese games and there actually wasn't a whole lot.

@Boerewors
You don't have to be Japanese, this is what it should be in the U.S. too (although I feel like Call of Duty shouldn't be on the list at all if we lived in my world). My world.... Huaahahahahahahaha

@sinalefa
you could always go to the playstation u.s. blog, but that blog is one of the crappiest, laggiest, blogs you'll ever have the misfortune of visiting. AND it doesn't even show most of the sales. Just enough to frustrate you, and then send you a link to another site, which is their playstation store website.

Long story short, stay far away from the u.s. playstation blog.

OMG, cloud looks pretty hawt!!

@OrangeBagels
yeah, but in the original version, people weren't forced to buy the discs individually...
It all depends on how they decide to finish each of the episodes. If each one is roughly its own complete story, and the episodes are treated more like sequels, than I think it will be ok.

Re: Pachter: There's Nothing Xbox One Can Do to Catch PS4

Utena-mobile

@BAMozzy
I think that's what we should take from this console gen. That being second doesn't mean you weren't successful. Xbone is doing well enough that MS considers it worth investing in, and that's good news for all of us.

@hmmnotsure
A lot of the good things that the Xbone has going for it right now is thanks to Phil Spencer. That guy has done an amazing job with what he has had to work with (and has been quite respectful in his treatment of Sony and Nintendo). Personally, I think that he understands gamers so well, he would have probably been able to turn the Wii U around too, if given a chance.

Re: Pachter: There's Nothing Xbox One Can Do to Catch PS4

Utena-mobile

I love my Xbone, but I'll be honest, depending on what kind of games you like to play, it may or may not be the console to get. Currently, the only exclusive game that has been announced for next year that I want is ReCore. While it's a game that I absolutely will buy, day 1, I'm kind of bummed out that it's the only one I'm interested in (although there are other multiplat games I'm looking forward to). I wish MS went after more Japanese games, or games with strong female protagonists. But since they haven't, I'm planning on picking up a PS4. And at that point, considering that the PS4 is more powerful, I can easily predict that it will become my main console after a couple of months. MS, you're so close to turning things around from that crappy launch. I really really do wish you the best of luck. But you're just too American.

p.s. but I love your controller more than the dualshock 4. (^_^ )

Re: Reaction: PSX 2015's Presser Brings the PS4 Goods Despite Poor Pacing and Pants Finale

Utena-mobile

eh. it was ok. I had to leave party way through, but it looks like I didn't miss much. Even though I'm not interested in most of what was shown, this next year has Detroit (maybe), Gravity Rush 1 and 2, Nights of Azure, and on the Xbone, Recore.
I think that's a pretty good list to keep me happy. (^_^ )

The only game that I'm really hyped for is Final Fantasy 7. Right now I only have a ps3 though and I'm wondering if I should play the classic ps1 version first, or let everything be a surprise and wait for the ps4 version.

Re: Bound Is a Bonkers Balletic Platformer for PS4 by Plastic and Sony Santa Monica

Utena-mobile

@Sanquine
Yeah, I agree that not all indies are good (I would say there are more bad ones than good). But they're taking risks that AAA games aren't. and sometimes they pay off.
Bloodborne exists because From Software made a reaaaaally good game with Demon's Souls. But at the time Demon's Souls wasn't anywhere near AAA status.

There's room for AAA and indies in this market. Now, the sad ones that are dying off are the A, B, and C level games. Either you go big, or you go indie. Publishers don't want anything in between, which I find tragic.

p.s. also I'm with you on the money issue. lol. I want to get a PS4 but I don't have any money right now either (except for Christmas presents for friends and family). *sigh

Re: Bound Is a Bonkers Balletic Platformer for PS4 by Plastic and Sony Santa Monica

Utena-mobile

@rjejr
Did you change your profile icon? I have a feeling you did. And yes. Yes!!! you criticize those companies. Criticize them hard! Harder!!!

@Sanquine
tbh, these are the kind of games I wish Xbox would fund a little more often. I like AAA games as much as the next person, but many of them are starting to feel very similar. They're the hollywood blockbusters of videogames. But we also need our dramas, our romances, our french new waves. It will be a sad day when most of our games end up looking like Michael Bay wannabes.

Re: Feature: Predicting PlayStation Experience 2015 - What Will Sony Announce for PS4, Vita?

Utena-mobile

Bend over for Sony Bend?
No. Just no.

My predictions, tons of stuff for PS4, nothing for PS Vita (if Vita gets anything it will be from 3rd party devs, but Sony is done with the system).

Personally, most of the games I don't care about, but I wouldn't mind hearing more about Horizon: Zero Dawn, Gravity Rush 2, and maybe Tales of Berseria.
I have an Xbone right now, but 2016 is definitely the year to get a PS4 too (hopefully we'll hear about a slim model during the 'experience').

Re: PS4 Smashes Two Million Sales Milestone in Japan

Utena-mobile

I hope Scalebound and Recore help the Xbox because I want to see Xbox get more Japanese games. But congratulations on Sony!! Hopefully this will get more Japanese developers to consider making games so there's a bigger chance we'll get to see them over here in the west.

Personally, I love Japanese games over Western games, so any good news from Japan is good news for me. (^_^ )

Re: Transforming Schoolgirls Strike Dead or Alive 5 with New Costume Crossover

Utena-mobile

I swore I would never buy dead or alive, but some of those costumes are really tempting me. Especially for Mila, I don't know anything about the game but she's my favorite. grrrrrrrrrrr....

ok. maybe I'll buy this. Is the game fun? like skill based? or is it just find an infinite combo and take down the opponent while they have no chance of retaliating?

Re: EA Is Already Talking About Star Wars Battlefront Sequels

Utena-mobile

a mix between an otome game and New Style Boutique where you're in charge of fashion for the Queen of Naboo, all while trying to navigate your way through the twisted tangles of love with tons of hot guys. The captain of the Queen's guard, a handsome young senator, a rival fashion designer, a brave Naboo pilot, and a mysterious drifter who may or may not have been a Jedi at one point.

or something kind of like Harvest Moon but you're a Moisture Farmer on Tatooine. (^_^ )/
