Re: Watch a Cut-Scene from Star Wars Battlefront 2's Story Mode

Utena-mobile

@FullbringIchigo lol. yeah. But some people do that because they are jerks. Others because they are bitter. But a few do it because they have anxiety (I think he fits this last one).
C-3PO, despite being annoying and cowardly, is also pretty loyal. I think that's endearing.

But I can also understand why people don't like him.

Re: Here's Everything You Need to Know About Star Wars Battlefront 2 on PS4

Utena-mobile

Lol. Battlefront is the only shooting game I have on my PS4 and it was solely because it was Star Wars.
I don't know. I had a lot of fun with BF1. Getting to watch Force Awakens (saw it 3 times) and then going home to play BF was an incredible experience, even if I wasn't very good at it.
I might be a little hesitant to buy it day 1 because there's a lot of other games I want to get, but I'm really excited about the campaign and Iden Versio looks like she's going to carry on Disney's trend of creating BA women.
If I do get it day 1 it will be because of Iden Versio and her story (I mostly play games for story so I was a little bummed out BF1 was only multiplayer).

Re: EVE: Valkyrie's Biggest Update Yet Removes VR Requirement

Utena-mobile

Not really. I loved and played a ton of Dust 514. It was the first shooter game I got into and I became obsessed with it (fan fiction, fan art etc etc).
But I saw how CCP treated it during the Rouge Wedding and even though the Shanghai Team (if I remember right) did an amazing job keeping the game going, by that point it was a walking corpse.
And of course there's also Legion. That fell through. lol.

I'll be honest, I want to play the game because it looks great, but I'm not quite ready to support CCP again. I think I'll wait for it to go free-to-play. Until then there are a lot of other games I can play.

@get2sammyb
Lag?! Laaaaag?! There should be less of it!!
(--_-- )

Jk. I think the PS4 is in a good spot right now. I would like the option of having even more control over what is on the scrolling main menu thingie. There are quite a few apps I don't use or plan on using and I want them gone. The best thing I've been able to do is throw them all in a folder, but now I want that folder gone too.

Re: No Man's Sky Patch 1.3 Discovers New Story Content and Fast Travel Portals

Utena-mobile

This game looks like fun (and waaaaay better than when it launched). I would give this a try but I have so many other games I need to beat right now it's not even funny. (T_T )

And since FF XV keeps being brought up, yeah, I think it's just like No Man's Sky. They both released games that weren't finished yet, hoping that the gaming community wouldn't notice. I think the difference why casual gamers like FF XV more is that at least FF XV were open about their troubled development and didn't promise the sky, so to speak (hehe, I'm so witty).
While everyone heard about No Man's Sky's broken promise from their No Man's Sky-hating friend.

Re: Soapbox: Hellblade's Permadeath Threat Is What Makes Games Special

Utena-mobile

@Constable_What
Hmmm... I think you're right in general. Like, the purpose of a "Game" (with a capital g) is enjoyment. But video games are kind of in a weird stage right now where they're slowly becoming something between a game and a story, or maybe a game AND a story. And stories don't necessarily have to be fun to be good.

Some games I think are really good (either gameplay, story or immersive experience) but I don't consider fun.

Drakengard 3
Deadly Premonition
Silent Hill1-4

Btw, I don't think you're wrong. There should be fun games. But games are so varied that I think there's more than enough room for pure fun games (Mario, Smash Bros, Pokemon etc) and pure experience (TT's The Walking Dead Season 1) and everything in between.

edit* I guess maybe it also comes down to what is a person's definition of a video game? But yikes, that's opening up another discussion altogether. (T_T )

@get2sammyb
Methinks thou dost expect too much.
lol.

This isn't a AAA game. Personally, I think this looks fantastic for what it is and I'm really excited for the game. I'm going to buy this day 1 and I hope it does well so other studios are encouraged to try out new ideas and stories instead of always going for AAA developments.

Re: PSN Name Changing, PSone Classics, Wishlists? We Don't Buy These PS4 Firmware 5.0 Rumours

Utena-mobile

I love my psn name (unlike the Xbox name I ended up with) so I don't really mind if they add the name change option or not (although I bet others would love it).

But I really really hope PS1 support is added. And while I'm at it, I also hope that my PS1 purchases from PS3 transfer over. If not, then I would like a discount to re-buy them like Nintendo does.

The other thing I would like is being able to sort my digital purchases by categories and menus so I can easily find DLC or a game I want to redownload.

Re: Skull & Bones Isn't an Assassin's Creed Spin-Off Because Ubisoft Didn't Want Limits

Utena-mobile

This looks really good. Pirates haven't really been explored to their full potential yet (imo). Tbh, I'm a little more excited for Sea of Thieves because I like the artstyle more than the gritty realism of Skull and Bones (also SoT reminds me in some ways of Monkey Island and I love that game), but both look like a lot of fun.

If it's online only though, I hope it's not peer-to-peer like For Honor. I don't really know what peer-to-peer means but it sucked in For Honor.

Re: Monster Hunter: World Takes Animal Cruelty to a New Level

Utena-mobile

@Ps4XboxGamer
Yeah, I'm also considering getting it for the Xbox. lol.
I never really liked the hunting part of the game, but I could craft different clothes and armor all day long.

Also, I really like multiplayer games where I get to work with and alongside other players instead of competing against them.

Re: Poll: What Was Your Favourite PS4 Game at E3 2017?

Utena-mobile

Only 3?
1)Shadow of the Colossus-
amazing game, incredibly atmospheric, and ultimately tragic.

2)Life is Strange-
Really loved the first one, and can't wait to return. Hope it has
more angsty drama (my bread and butter).

3)Blue Reflection-
Wasn't shown at E3, but it comes out this year. I don't know much about it but I'm hoping it touches on the nostalgia I had of my sister and I rushing home from elementary school to watch Sailor Moon.

Re: Soapbox: Publishers Can't Bloody Win When It Comes to E3

Utena-mobile

@Shepherd_Tallon
Yeah it was pretty great. (^_^ )
I don't have a 4k tv though so I wouldn't be able to experience it on high settings, but I got chills watching it.
And racing games are pretty hardcore. I guess they have to be because every guy I've talked to who loves cars like really loves them. There's no inbetween. Either they don't care about cars or they're obsessed. lol.

Re: Soapbox: Publishers Can't Bloody Win When It Comes to E3

Utena-mobile

@Shepherd_Tallon
lol. yeah. You know, it's kind of funny what resonates with us and makes a memorable E3 presentation. Tbh, my favorite reveal this year was for a game I'll never buy. It was for Forza. Like, there are other games I like more and am more excited for (like Shadows of the Colossus and Metroid) but the Forza trailer was the only one that made me almost jump out of my seat.

It didn't even start off that way. I was like, oh great, another racing game (Mario Kart is the only one I like), but then "Blood in the Cut" starts to play, and then the driver walks out, and I'm like OMG!! The driver! The driver is a woman! That never happens in racing games! I can create my driver!!! OMG!!

It's my favorite trailer so far but like I said before I'll probably never buy it because I don't like racing games (and know next to nothing about cars). But the trailer does a good job of almost convincing me. (^_^ )

Re: E3 2017: Shadow of the Colossus Being Rebuilt for PS4

Utena-mobile

I read an interview on another website where they talked to Shuhei Yoshida-san and he mentioned that they redid all of the assets to make it look like a modern game (and they did a good job because I still think that grass looks amazing for a PS2 game).

They also mentioned that there were some tweaks to the controls to bring it closer to current games. I don't know if that means they remapped the controls or if they went ahead and adjusted how Wander moves and stuff. But either way, I'm super excited for this game. (^_^ )

Re: Soapbox: Publishers Can't Bloody Win When It Comes to E3

Utena-mobile

I mostly agree with this, but I think it's possible to dislike something and mention why without people assuming that I'm labeling it the worst E3 ever or that the developers are terrible people (I know it takes a lot of time and effort to host a conference).
But I find it kind of strange that we can all agree this year wasn't the best, but when I mention that I hope Playstation Experience is better (i.e. has that "wow" factor you mentioned) suddenly it's a problematic opinion?

Also, I think it's healthy to realize that this is a Playstation Website so it is really easy to become biased towards Playstation and what they do and don't do. I hope the comments never become super hateful fan rhetoric, but isn't there a huge margin of error before we reach that point?

Imo, I liked Nintendo's presentation the best (so did my sister and two of my friends). I think it was the better of the three (for various reasons) and our opinion is no more right or wrong than those who say Xbox won, or for a lot of people on here, that Playstation won.

Also, sorry for this message @ShogunRok. (T-T ) You're one of my favorite writers here and I don't want this to come across as if I disagree with you. I think this article is important.

Re: E3 2017: PlayStation Experience 2017 Slated for December

Utena-mobile

@Xaessya
a .hack// hd trilogy has been announced for ps4. I don't know anything about that series but I guess it was a big deal back in the day. (o_O )
could be fun.

*edit: I think I triggered someone with this message. So I'll just clarify.
I've never played .hack// before. I remember hearing about it when I was very little though, so I think it was pretty big. It could be fun and I'm looking forward to it because I like jrpgs. This message in no way implies that I am sarcastically saying the only good thing to come out for PS4 is an hd remaster trilogy. I'm looking forward to a lot of PS4 games, but, this e3 presentation wasn't one of my favorites because most of the games are not ones I would normally play (or games we found out about in previous conventions). But that is ok. It's ok to not like something. You like what you like, I'll like what I like.
I'm going to preorder 3 games tomorrow that I'm super excited for and I'm going to wait for Playstation Experience to hopefully find more that I'll buy day 1.

Re: Poll: Should Resident Evil Remain First-Person for Now?

Utena-mobile

Depends. If I'm playing as a no-name character, or if I'm playing a character that is really meant to be in just that game, then yeah, definitely. first person is super scary and a good way to immerse yourself.

But if I'm playing as an established character that they want to represent the series (like Jill Valentine, or Claire Redfield) then no.

Re: PS4 Pro Is a 'Half-Assed Upgrade' Compared to Scorpio, Says Xbox Dev

Utena-mobile

uhm... so, not to get on anyone's bad side, but yeah, I do think the PS4 is a lame attempt to get better results with PS VR and slightly better graphics. And I think PS VR won't even do that well this gen (but I bet it will take off next gen).

But you know what? I'm happy PS4 pro isn't a huge increase in power because the one thing I was scared of (that the base would be split into vanilla and super-fantastic-graphics-beast-mode) isn't happening.

However, Scorpio is (practically) a next gen console, and it will split the base.

Re: Review: Tales of Berseria (PS4)

Utena-mobile

@Azikira
I think he's just commenting that this January has been unusually packed with lots of good games worth getting. I would agree.

As for anyone who has beaten the game (pushsquare staff?). Someone told me that one of the scenes was censored in western releases. And, while it still carries the same message across, there's some dialogue and motives that work better with the uncensored scene. Is this true?

I mean, I'm still going to get the game, but I'm just curious. Also, sorry if I'm being vague. I didn't want to spoil anything.

Re: Talking Point: Should Sony Really Curate the PlayStation Store More?

Utena-mobile

@RenanKJ
wow. exactly. best comment to start the article.

I don't know how bad "Life of Black Tiger" is, but it seems to be the exception and not the rule. And if Black Tiger is curated, then that begs the question, what is the metric by which games will be judged? I'm sure there are many gamers out there who would have loved to see "No Man's Sky" taken out of the store.

@RenanKJ has the right idea.

Re: Guide: Which Difficulty Should You Play Resident Evil 7 On?

Utena-mobile

whoa!!! I love the site's new redesign. (^_^ )
Anyways, I usually like picking normal because I feel that's where the game is most balanced. Sometimes harder difficulties just seem like scaling the health up, or enemies deal more damage etc and less about creating a balanced immersive world.

Also, I'm not very good at a lot of games and can't beat most "hard" difficulty settings. (T_T )

Re: Guts Looks Better on PS4 Than He Does in the New Berserk Anime

Utena-mobile

Yeah he does.
I just recently got into berserk. I read an interview where the author was all like "yeah, Berserk is basically a shoujo manga." and I was like "shoujo! I love shoujo!" So I tried it out... and I was not expecting what I got.
I've never binge watched an anime as hard as I did with Berserk. I love Guts!

But the new anime is nowhere close to the how good the original series is. Kotaku, you're crazy! (-. - )

Re: New Final Fantasy XV Screenshots Prove It's a Preposterously Pretty PS4 Game

Utena-mobile

@mrobinson91
Maybe because it takes its inspiration for wide open fields and long highway stretches from the U.S.? As someone from the U.S., I can attest that yes, long highway stretches get really boring, especially when all you have to see are fields or mountains. (T_T ) (the city looks better, but that's because Venice> Highway any day).

I'm looking forward to the game but I'm not happy that your party is practically a sausage fest. But I'm willing to still give it a try because I really like Ignis.

Re: Resident Evil 5 Punches Rocks on PS4 from 28th June

Utena-mobile

@AyeHaley lol. well then...

so I wasn't going to mention it, but since a few people already have, I think Chris is a total hunk! I mean, I love both Sheva and Chris, but there's something about those biceps. (^_^ )

*whew, is it getting hot in here or is it just me?

btw, definitely picking this up day 1.
