Re: Hands On: PSVR2 Represents the Next Big Step for VR

Yozora146_

@Snake_V5 If this helps, motion sickness caused by VR (also dubbed VR sickness) actually improves over time. I originally felt sick using locomotive controls and no vignette settings on the OG psvr, I've spent well over a thousand hours in OG VR and have no issues anymore to speak of. The best thing to do is play for as long as you can but not force yourself. Come back to it now and then and you should see an improvement. it could differ from person to person though.

Re: 15 PS5, PS4 Predictions for 2023

Yozora146_

@Neonix This been saying this for a while, if VR wants to grow exclusivity is not the way forward, let the headset work on PC as well. I don't even have any interest in PC gaming etc and I still want that to happen

Re: PSVR2 Will Have More Than 30 Games at Launch

Yozora146_

@LN78 That wasn't really the point though through the other messages you started talking about 1 year tbf. if you want to wait 5 years hell why not wait 30 years and get it that cheap cool you do you yeesh I'm not attacking you I was just curious why in the end why you thought so.

Re: PSVR2 Will Have More Than 30 Games at Launch

Yozora146_

@LN78 I was just saying its pretty unrealistic is all, and why you getting so heated. Even if your quoting the OG your numbers don't add up, the psvr 2 is £180 more expensive even acounting for your OG price drop was £125, point is getting VR 2 down to sub £300 is very unlikely which even you've got to admit jeez.

Re: PSVR2 Will Have More Than 30 Games at Launch

Yozora146_

@LN78 True! Just saying because if the market is poor than getting replacement anything becomes less viable and costly. I had a look at some second hand Quest 2 prices on CeX and ebay none on cex I saw were sub 300 and those that were on ebay are incomplete bids given that the quest 2 is a cheaper I wouldn't put too much stock in sub £300 for psvr 2 anytime soon unless its a massive bomb. Hope you don't think I'm being rude btw, this is just an interesting conversation .

Re: PSVR2 Will Have More Than 30 Games at Launch

Yozora146_

@themightyant You make great points, admittedly I think high end software largely dried up due to hardware limitations especially with the move wands, and yeah games need to evolve past 'look you can use your hands' too. Price wise its competitive to other areas of the market but but as you said price will only drop of it gets mass market appeal but games like saints and sinners do give a lot of hope for the future as that game just wouldn't work flat.

Re: PSVR2 Will Have More Than 30 Games at Launch

Yozora146_

@LN78 Having used the OG extensively I've never even thought of replacing the foam probably because no such official way exists as far as I'm aware so I wouldn't call that easy. You also said under £300 so I assumed around what £250 as a ballpark figure so I apologise for that. Yes its expensive but pretty fair when look elsewhere at the VR market, I mean sony are selling it for profit unlike PS5 hardware which is sold for £100-£200 loss. As far as pre orders go VR isn't a massive market at the moment (less scalpers too) anyway realistically I imagine those who have pre ordered at the moment will likely be those who already are quite invested in VR like myself. But you know its fair if that's what you want to pay.

Re: PSVR2 Will Have More Than 30 Games at Launch

Yozora146_

@LN78 The foam absorbs sweat and oils antiseptic wipes aren't getting rid of that I'm afraid hence why washing machines work the way they do. To get under £300 the headset would have to be sold for less than half, but then again perhaps the reason there'd be so many second hand units is many is because most people Don't like the idea of buying one. Curiously why do you think the headset should be at that price anyway? The launch line up looks great. Hardware is good too.

Re: PSVR2 Game Pricing Revealed as Pre-Orders Go Live

Yozora146_

@ROTTIEMAN16 Coming from the generation who never had a massive gaming leap like the old 2D to 3D days VR was my first wow moment too.Nice to hear someone else has also experienced that wow moment
I'm pretty grateful that I can play any OG PSVR game with no VR sickness even with no reduction features hence why I've pre ordered mine. Hope you enjoy yours.

Re: Feature: 12 PS5 Firmware Updates We Want to See

Yozora146_

@Olmaz
It depends on whether that bandwidth limitation is a software cap or hardware based. Honestly the cap at the moment does mean that when outputting 120hz with hdr it uses the 4:4:2/0 sampling. As far as I know VRR doesn't use any extra bandwidth.

Re: Feature: 12 PS5 Firmware Updates We Want to See

Yozora146_

@Olmaz
VRR will also benefit the games that have 120hz modes as it makes the likely unstable framerate drops almost unperceptable to the average person.

Heres a few games that support 120hz
DMC 5 special ed.
Cod Cold War
Cod Vanguard
Destiny 2 (Crucible Only)

Re: PSVR Shooter Fracked Now Has a Free Playable Demo on PS Store

Yozora146_

@Bentleyma- ah, so you've got a gen 1 box, yeah that would suck for me too I would even be able to use it with my amp which keeps my cables tidy. I do have to swap the cable if I want to use the PS5s hdmi 2.1 features though. Although I think we can agree its too hot for VR right now right lol.

Re: Spider-Man: Miles Morales Patch 1.10 Makes Ray Tracing Even Better

Yozora146_

@BoldAndBrash whoa, hold on a minute, your going complain about the lack of swing physics in a game, then state you prefer RDR2 to tsushima because of its physics? Pretty sure RDR2 has no bullet physics, ie no bullet drop.
Its fine if you don't like spiderman its your choice, but I just don't understand why you would reference a game with outdated gunplay.

Re: Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart Patch 1.002 Adds 40FPS Mode for 120Hz TVs

Yozora146_

@Olmaz
I would like to add that I also suffered from the first level crashes as well, what was weirder was that it would crash in random spots and not in the same spot (the opening is relatively on a track). Which was annoying as I'd just finished uni for the day and really wanted to play, I waited until the next patch and got passed the level so maybe its conpletely patched.

I'm sorry but im confused about your comment on vivid mode, are you agreeing or disagreeing with me? Sorry now I'm just worried I've missed a setting or something.

Re: Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart Patch 1.002 Adds 40FPS Mode for 120Hz TVs

Yozora146_

@Olmaz
whoops yeah I made a typo with tone mapping thanks for pointing that out

Yeah I've talked to others who prefer the dynamic tone mapping because it looks brighter and therefore more how they expect it to look, but sometimes it is better to have it the way the developer intended. But hey people can always choose what they prefer.
The reason I don't use it is mostly because it has a habit of raising the black floor, therefore washing out the deep blacks which to me is more noticable than clipping slight detail from bright scenes (I use a very dark room). The other reason is that dynamic tone mapping causes fluctauations based on the information in the image giving different results for similiar scenes. Reminds of how some people leave their TV scene on vivid, 🤮.

@thefourfoldroot
As an owner I can say they are easily one of, if not the best tvs you can buy (provided you havethe right viewing conditions)

I'd like to give you some tips to set it up correctly if you'd like so here goes.

After all the initial setup and stuff you'll need to set certain things up with your ps5.

1. Select the hdmi port your PS5 is connected to then Go to all settings, it should open up the picture tab, next go on additional settings and select HDMI ultra HD deep colour (this is for HDR) then select HDMI port your PS5 is connected to and click it in case it hasn't already done so. You can also turn on the instant game response and AMD free sync if you wish, however PS5 doesn't currently support the options but have been promised in future updates.

2 next you'll need to set the picture mode, make sure your ps5 is on and you can see a picture, then hit all settings again. From the picture tab click on the picture mode settings, it will move to a new tab with picture mode at the top and contrast, brightness etc. Click picture mode at the top and select Game (it may already say Game HDR) in which case do nothing.

3. In the tab that should now say picture mode Game at the top along with brightness, contrast etc scroll down to advanced controls, click it and you should get a tab with dynamic contrast. Select DYNAMIC TONE MAPPING and select HGiG (only use HGiG for Gaming!!!!!.) I recommend leaving all other settings at this point at their default values.

4. Now if the PS5 has not done this already, it will ask you to calibrate HDR, to do it manually you can find it in the PS5 settings as adjust HDR under screen and video. (Make sure you have HGiG) already selecting before going on to the adjust HDR screen otherwise it can mess with the calibration. On the first step of adjust HDR, set it so that the sun dissappears (shuld be 14 steps from lowest) do the same for the 2nd step. For the 3rd step set it to the lowest setting (perfect black). The reason to set it this way can be found in guides on the Internet that would take a while to explain here HDTV test has a good video on it.

I hope these steps help you and others calibrate HDR correctly, you can find alot of this in guides on the Internet Key word is HGiG. If you do have anymore questions just reply to this comment. Enjoy your tv

Re: PS4 Exclusive Ghost of Tsushima Could Be Coming to PC as 'Only on PlayStation' Is Removed from Box

Yozora146_

@gollumb82 yeah I tried PS Now and the latency is just really off putting, along with random quality drops for me. Google stadia hasn't really done much for the streaming model market either.

For anyone who doesn't know though, latency is caused due to the time it takes for data to be sent from one location to another (often called ping) "faster" Internet just refers to a larger bandwidth so more data is being sent but it travels at the same speed. So for an easy to understand example let's say 1 data packet travels at 60mph and it has to travel 60 miles to get to the server, your latency (or ping) is going to be 2 hours as the data has to come back if your playing a game.

@tselliot I Live in England dude, which means our houses are solid brick, insulated to keep heat in, and our houses rarely have A/C, (you know, because its mostly cold and wet 9 months of the year). I also don't live in the south (so no london) which means I'm acclimatised to cooler weather.
