I’ve not been fully following any gaming news for quite a while and this was the first bit of media I paid 100% attention to. I’m slowly catching up. (Like I found out a few days ago there is a new Star Wars and Assassin Creed game coming out this year!)
Up until that SoP, I had no idea Concord existed let alone what sort of game it was 😂

I was invested during the cutscene at the start. Looked like it was going to be a fun space adventure game...
then they said 5v5 FPS

Nothing of interest for me there. Not a great month really.
For those who want to play RDR2, I would start right away as Rockstar games only seem to be on the service for a few months at a time.

I honestly have no idea what happened in the end. Prior to be completing the game, I saw posts saying saying the ending was amazing... and I felt it was just meh

The only reason I have re subbed to Premium for the next 12 months is because it was £65. No idea why... 🤷‍♂️

@TheAmbienWalrus it’s a strange one because if the PSN account is needed, they sold it to countries that don’t have access.
That is what I found the oddest thing about it all tbh (especially when they pulled it from those country stores!)

I don’t use steam so I was just looking on Reddit so I may not be 100% correct but I did just see some one post a screen shot of the PS Direct shop saying you don’t need a PSN account (21 hrs ago)

@Flaming_Kaiser when I was going through Reddit the past few days, some one put the details page through the way back machine and found that it was an optional requirement

This would have been a whole different story if they said up front you needed a PSN account. I feel the new PSN PC Experience was not quite ready at the time HD2 launched and they just though 'we will bolt it in later', with a single employee in the corner quietly questioning those countries that don't have PSN access lol

I am wondering if because you claimed the base game from Plus and then purchased the DLCs, the store grouped them, thinking you owned the GotY. Now this update has been pushed, the store saw the mistake, and broke the bundle apart

No one is safe it seems.
I feel it was a mistake shutting some of the smaller studios down as they were great at releasing games in between the big AAA titles.
Obviously the Live Services would have taken their places but a lot of them have now been cancelled.
Now we are left with each AAA needing the same budget as a Hollywood movie and a dev time of at least 5 years. The bubble has to burst at some point.

I have tried to play Outer Wilds three times now and it never clicked. Each time I thought... "this is the time I get it", but never happened.

@Savage_Joe agree! They have 10 years (was that the deal?), great older IPs and studios that could create something pretty special.

At the moment there is nothing that really excites me about this one. Will be something I probably pick up late into the year

@Titntin from what I have been reading from players on the sub reddit, the first few hours are all tutorial but they are all saying they are having fun (I know... 2024 and having fun in a video game!). I have been patiently waiting for reviews on this but I feel this is the latest "it is cool to hate" game. So I am going to wait some more, for either big price drop or if it gets added to a sub service.
Like I said above, my only worry is Rocksteady's Resources going towards this instead of fully to the next project but I hope they have a plan lol.

Edit: And something new from a Sony Studio for the PS5. It is great they are filling gaps with some exclusive 3rd party stuff, but it should be about time we start seeing something from future 1st party studios.

As a Rocksteady fan, my biggest concern about it being a Live Service, is that it will be taking resources away from their next project (just like how Naughty Dog were concerned).
I think I will wait for this to either hit PS+ or Game Pass (can see it going here first)

Premium really is a massive con at this point. Massive catalogue of games to port across to PS4/5. I know it takes time and effort to do but I am sure those leaked documents showed that more people are subbed to Premium than Extra....

We are 4 years into the PS5?!
I would like Sony to acknowledge that the PSVR2 exists and port over Astro Bot to it!

Great month. Nobody Saves the World is a brilliant game. I was hooked on it when it was on Game Pass.

Loved my first 12 months with it but now it is collecting dust waiting for Spider-man 2 to drop in price 😂

Patiently waiting for every one to finish it and trade it in, so I can pick it up cheaper. Or until it drops in price. Which ever first, I can wait.... I think

@get2sammyb I am not talking about timed exclusives. The Final Fantasy deals are not timed. They are locked down heavy to the Sony platform.
I just do not like the narrative of people complaining that they can not play X game on the PS5 because of exclusivity whereas Sony has build an entire generation on that model.

Like I said, the only difference is that you could play X game series before (not that there was many outside CoD) and now you cannot.

@Shepherd_Tallon Oh I totally agree with you. They release CoD every year without fail. As for other games.... the last one was that Crash game and that has vanished.
So yes, the second deal is the best hands down

@StrawberryTurtle Sony paid for the exclusivity deal. This came out in the court documents. Also both sides paying devs to stop games being added to Game Pass & Plus.
They are both as bad as each other. I would say (need to check facts on this) MS started it first in the 360 era, followed by Sony become exclusive heavy in the PS3 era. This continued in PS4 era as that dominated, followed by Xbox snapping up studios which, (you probably forgot about) Sony did too.

@StrawberryTurtle Final Fantasy 7R, Final Fantasy 16 to name some 3 rd party.
Sony also have their own excusive games that Xbox players cannot play. The only difference is that Activision games use to release on PlayStation, but now they will not (apart from CoD).

Also, have we forgot about Insomniac Games? They published for Xbox then were bought out.

I have never understood the argument "but PlayStation will not have any Activision games...". Just buy an Xbox, just like you would by a PlayStation for their exclusive games!

@sanderson72 Sony had the option to keep all Activision games but they turned it down.

@Daleaf I too did not enjoy the 2nd game as much, but I am currently on a NG+ and I am enjoying it a lot more.

How is no one surprised by this? I am more surprised when they include the PS5 version along side the PS4 version (like Haven Immortal)

The game has changed a lot since it was released. Maybe take this review score with a pinch of salt as we have seen many games review badly at launch, but improve greatly over time (especially GaaS titles)

This game brought back a lot of memories and managed to knock the plat out in an hour. Will definitely go back to play it some more

Weak month for me. Either I already have (and played) them or not interested.

@Shstrick I don’t see the issue. I think it’s cool but Sony promoted Premium to have a collection of classic games including any remasters. And with how terrible Premium currently is, they could have added them. They did the same with Vice City.
