@ShogunRok Thanks for the review! I'm confused about the original game and the comparison to this new one, though. I've seen people talking about this particular matter, but I've yet to completely understand what exactly is the difference between the two. If I skipped the original, can I feel good about jumping into this one without feeling I've missed some story beat or content that was left out?
Few people can deny that Sony has lost a lot of its spirit when there are not many first-party games that are made in Japan anymore. This is a consistent problem because their image is already synonymous with the West and it frankly becomes too monotone if nothing is going to change. I'm glad to see an aggressive move towards a more global approach, especially regarding China and India as of late. But even that doesn't change the fact that they've lost their grip on their legacy games. The titles that were made in Japan. I hate to repeat myself every time this comes up, but they got to change.
This is one of my top 3 favorite games of all time, together with Total Annihilation and Persona 3. The fact that this has trophy support now is definitely making me want to go back again and 100% it. In due time, I will. Appreciate the review!
I'm fully on board with this kind of initiative from PlayStation and have been asking about retro collections for a long time now. The more the merrier.
Return to your roots, Sony. Do something, anything at this point. Konami celebrates its IPs by re-releasing them in great packages that get people talking. Castlevania, Contra, and TMNT are entries that we can go back to now and be excited about again. Suikoden is also coming up. Try doing more of that at the very least.
Great news! I'm pumped to finally get into Suikoden on PlayStation for the first time, though I'm very late to the party. The earlier titles are quite expensive nowadays.
My goodness! I've been waiting a long time for this to be announced. Super happy and very much looking forward to jumping into the world of PSO again. The first game on Dreamcast many years back made a huge impression on me that never really diminished. Feeling very blessed right now.
This is what I want more in games that clearly try to aim for a more grounded approach. If not, the option to raise the difficulty yourself should be obvious.
Having fun while trying to outmaneuver the competition is the best kind of duel. No need to be so serious and stale all the time. That video is for the history books, love it.
@Flopsy Dead people's opinions sometimes have great ramifications for what happens in the future. Not always, but the ones that are there are kind of difficult to look past. History is a fantastic tool to measure where we once were and where we are moving now. Yamauchi is more than a dead man with an opinion most of us would disagree with, far more.
Typhoon Studios is going to make titles for sloppy Stadia from now on. Journey to the Savage Planet is likely their last game on traditional platforms. Here's hoping for a speedy recovery.
I get the feeling there'll be a lot more launch games for the PS5 than we got for the current generation. Might be wrong on that, we'll see. They'll definitely want to bring all the big guns and show whatever they got for the next 1-2 years ahead though.
I'm actually surprised a sequel would be made what so ever. Sony has a big graveyard of dead intellectual properties, thought this would be one of them. It will be interesting seeing this particular footage pop up, if true.
It's understandable for Sony to pull out of E3 considering the information that came to light about ESA over the years. They don't know how to move this show forward.
Final Fantasy 7 Remake is my most anticipated PS4 game of this year followed closely by Ghost of Tsushima and then Cyberpunk 2077. There's still a lot of other cool games to choose from and it's pretty overwhelming, to be honest.
@JJ2 There's no substance to the claim at this point. Some of us already expected an acquisition, hence the skepticism. The situation is more about the person in question having information about the matter as if it was a fact. This is outlined in the article.
Here's one. Ready at Dawn has a launch game for the PS5. It's not a sequel to The Order: 1886, but a completely new IP. Sony believes there are too many sequels in the pipeline for the new system anyway. It's an ambitious action-adventure title that leans heavily on sci-fi elements.
I bought Far Cry Primal for the same reason I'm eventually going to get this. It's so interesting exploring a time period way further back of human history, too bad about the actual mechanics of the game. I wish they gave it a second thought. Thanks for the review.
@Rob_230 Considering how Bluepoint mentioned their project in one of the Wired articles about PS5, I would guess the title is more connected to the "actual" reveal of the new console. So probably early next year.
Jumping into Apex Legends for the first time. Wouldn't mind playing with a group I'm more familiar with, but still having a good time with the randoms.
