I buy a game brand new, complete it and sell it on eBay - basically costing £5-10 for a new game. Physical is such a smarter option. Digital is just publishers and platform holders using their monopoly to mug off consumers.

Bought at launch and sold three months later when it became clear the support similar to gran turismo 7, RE Village etc just wouldn't be there.

I was fully expecting Alyx to arrive in the first wave of post launch announcements but nothing came.

It seems such a totally pointless system. All that work by Sony with seemingly no strategy or vision for its role in the overall ecosystem at all.

Wow wasn't expecting to be disappointed about a game being cross gen for ps6/ps5 in 2024

@KundaliniRising333 100% agree and was thinking the same. I know it's not yet ready for release but my god it doesn't even look close.

Difference is one was made to be an artistic experience and the other was made to bring in as much money for as little outlay as possible. CoD employees giving it large is like them trying to claim that CoD is more popular by their metrics than the Sistine Chapel.

@The_Pixel_King 100%, it's amazing. I'd imagine a lot of people who were going to buy it all bought it week one.

Meanwhile a PS3 game is still convincing enough people to go out and physically buy it to put it in the top ten.

For use cases like this it is helpful. I am doing the same for mundane throw away 'workhorse' tasks. It allows time and focus for the things people actually care about.

Shoutout to Demeo - absolutely fantastic game. So immersive being able to zoom in and out, and the animations of the pieces are superb.

@SJBUK something seems up. There are a lot of polls going around of who ordered the bundle and hasn't had it shipped (myself included) and the numbers were over 90% last night! There's something fishy going on.

@KundaliniRising333 allegedly all of the codes for the call of the mountain bundles don't work in the UK, so Sony are waiting for replacement codes to be generated and then put in to all of the bundles before sending them out in the UK; rather than send them out wrong and email correct ones for fear of them being sold on for overseas use.

Pity no one is receiving their PSVR tomorrow due to Sony's call of the mountain codes cock up. That's a story waiting to be written outside of Reddit! Another shambolic launch.

The only let down for me are the facial animations. They feel very PS4. So many games from Spiderman to Valhalla to Horizon nailed it on a whole other level. That aside, superb. A magically realised world.

I was going to pre-order it right up until I saw the tell-tale sign of a release day embargo combined with tonnes of mass media marketing. Dead giveaway of a middling game. Reviews drop when it's too late.

I don’t understand why it’s being framed as “no longer a remake”. There was absolutely nothing in that trailer that isn’t in the original? You had the memory bit from Kalm with Cloud and Sephiroth at the Mt. Nibel Mako reactor, and then the flashback from the Nibel Mansion of Cloud and Zack after being attacked by Shinra soldiers… was there something else in there that wasn’t in the original??

So I had it on ps4, then on ps5 but deleted it as needed the space. Do I now need to re-download the ps4 back compat version, do the 'upload saved data' thing, then download the ps5 upgrade when that's released?! Or is it already there from when I downloaded for PS5?
