Interestingly, a couple of the other reviews said they had a problem with the speed of the walking. I didn't at all, but it might be something to consider I guess?
@ShogunRok Cheers Yeah look, they should probably change the name of it to: Walking Simulator: The Walking Simulator
@AhabSpampurse @get2sammyb I don't think I've seen a single person ever order a Fosters. In fact, I only even saw it for the first time a couple of weeks ago - in a boutique bottle shop, no less. Our friend is correct, Sammy, a crisp cool VB is the beverage of choice.
Here are two hints from your Uncle Kell which will help maximize your enjoyment of the game. 1. Give your character a silly/obscene name. It just makes the entire experience more ludicrous and hilarious. 2. Play with friends. It works remarkably well as couch co-op experience.
I know we've seen it before, but every time I see Big Shell in this game I make audible noises of excitement. @kyleforrester87 Whoops! My bad! Should be working now!
@get2sammyb When things like this get leaked there's always a cynical part of me that is convinced they did it on purpose. But in this case, you can just hear the devastation in guy's voice. Exciting stuff!
I think the problem with review scores is that they imply objectivity - as if the number I assign to a game is THE final and objective word on its quality. Obviously that's not the case, but it can be very difficult (even for someone who has literally been told that his review scores are nonsense (read:me!)) to remember that a score - and indeed a review - is someone's personal opinion.
Should we get rid of review scores? Probably not - they are demonstrably useful, and are often fun to have a good natured argument about. Should we stop assuming that a review can ever be perfectly and wholly objective? Absolutely.
The Inkeepers is one of my absolute favourite modern horror movies, so the fact that that team is involved with Until Dawn fills me with confidence. That movie manages to be both schlocky AND genuinely scary, so hopefully this can pull that off as well.
@DHW I did not know that, but it makes a lot of sense. Like I say, I've only really played the demo, so I'm definitely judging it way too harshly for how much I've played
@get2sammyb Yeah, I'm pretty sure it did. I feel like the Chinese government is making them wait a few more days just to double check that they /really/ want it
@Bad-MuthaAdebisi You're right. I think the fact that Sony is only offering 1 and 3 month services (and not full 12 month ones like with plus) is because they aren't expecting people to stay permanently subscribed. Personally, it's the sort of thing I'm liable to use every so often, but I doubt I'd ever use it for longer than a month at a time.
I think the value here obviously depends on how many games you plan to play. If you plan on going on a gaming bender for a month, then this would be the best way to do it. But if you just want to play one game, you'd obviously be better off either renting it from PS Now or just outright buying it. Probably the latter.
I certainly think this is a step in the right direction , though. It's a much more tempting proposal than anything that had been offered previously.
As silly as this is, it actually makes me more excited for Phantom Pain. For me, the appeal of the MGS franchise has always been the bizarre combination of incredibly serious subject matter with silly stuff like this. Ground Zeroes - while fantastic - felt very solemn to me, and I was a little concerned that Kojima was changing to a more "mature" style.
As usual, I now look like an idiot for ever doubting the man.
@get2sammyb You're right, it is perfectly timed in a strategic sense. Also, it feels like Techland has put a lot more effort into this one - but that could just be the delay talking...
@special_donkey Hahaha, that's brilliant! Swimming with zombies sounds deliciously absurd - I love it!
@iDangerMouse_ Yeah, I'm actually kinda excited for this one - but I can't pin down why. It was pretty good when I played it at PAX, so let's hope it delivers!
The shoes are /very/ nice, but I think we can all agree that the real star of the show is that navy/red cape. Just imagine the physics engine driving that thing.
@Davros79 Hey, I played Transistor It missed out on my top 3 by a gnat's wing, but it was definitely a highlight of the year. So much atmosphere, and such a brilliant setting.
@mitcHELLspawn @Zep_Fan_81 I'm at the 65 hour mark, with absolutely no sign of the end in sight. My character's around level 18 if I recall - I took a quick break to play AC:Unity. You're totally right, too, the variety in environments is pretty stunning - I enjoy just walking around staring at stuff
@get2sammyb It is very very good, but if you're not interested in the genre/setting I'd give it a miss. So much of the experience is tied up in the lore, so if fantasy isn't your thing it'll probably just feel like a lot of forced reading.
And it probably goes without saying, but the first 10 hours are just absolute stodgy garbage.
As someone who has always had a pretty tenuous relationship with Bioware, I was absolutely thrilled to enjoy this game as much as I did. A really solid RPG, with fantastic writing and gorgeous visuals. Now I just need to find some time to finish it....
@AeroZeppelin I totally forgot about Rime when I was writing my entry! That game looks absolutely phenomenal. Although, in some ways, it has the same problem as No Man's Sky, in that we've not really seen enough of the moment-to-moment gameplay. Good list
So, for this Crimbus I finally got a second DS4, as well as Far Cry 4. Oh, and my brother gave me a copy of some old game I've never heard of. Apparently it's for the N64, but I have no idea what that is
I'm very disappointed that you didn't include the 10 second clip of two men smoking on a train. That was clearly the standout trailer at the PlayStation Experience, and it's disgusting that it isn't represented here.
Joking aside, my favourite trailer was the one for Wattam. Because what even is that game?
I just did a bit of research, and apparently some other people have suggested that the message might be even more cryptic. The original fake studio for The Phantom Pain was Moby Dick Studios. Moby Dick is the 6th book by Herman Melville, and the 22nd chapter is called "Merry Christmas".
So, either Kojima's wishing us a merry Christmas OR it's a reference to the Kojima Station broadcast scheduled for Christmas day. I'm more convinced of the release date theory, to be honest.
@Bad-MuthaAdebis Apparently around 41,000 people signed a petition to get it gone. The shops that have stopped selling it (Target/Kmart) are basically supermarkets, so it's not a huge deal. If they can convince the big game retailers to stop selling it, that'd be something.
But back on topic - I'll be interested to see how ESO does. I've never been a huge fan of the concept myself, but I'm still slightly curious.
@Aviator I just double checked that time conversion, and it's actually at 4AM in Brisbane, which means 5AM in Sydney/Melbourne. I blame daylight savings!

@Churchy Yeah, that's exactly right! I hope it finds an audience, because I'd love to see what the dev does next.

Re: Life Is Strange: Episode 4 Turns Back Time on 28th July
@get2sammyb Isn't it, though? Just so so different to everything else I've ever played. And strangely emotional a lot of the time.
Re: Life Is Strange: Episode 4 Turns Back Time on 28th July
This has been my favorite game of 2015 by a country mile, so I am very very keen to get my hands on the new episode.
Re: E3 2015: This PS4 Footage of Unravel Will Melt Your Heart

Yes.

Re: E3 2015: Bethesda Bizarrely Hints at Dishonored 2 on Accidental Stream
Oh man, this is utterly heartbreaking for the devs.
But at the same time, this has now shot to the top of my list of most anticipated E3 games.
Re: PS4 Puzzler The Witness Will Apparently Take You 70 Hours to Fully Complete
@Dodoo Tell me about it! I think he said that you can beat it much quicker than that, though. It'll only take you 70 if you want to see everything.
Re: Ratchet & Clank PS4 Footage Looks Out of This World
My stars. This looks stupidly good.

Yeah, I'm a pretty big Ninja Theory fan, but I just could not truck with new-Dante at all. I couldn't even make it through the demo....
Re: Your Very Own Shower Dream Is Nearing in Friday the 13th: The Video Game
Friday the 13th is without a doubt my favourite film franchise of all time, so I'll probably end up playing this. Even if it is absolute bunkum.

Fantastic and hilarious video as always, Ben. Also, that's one heck of a Stewie Griffin impersonation.
Re: Game of the Year: Best PS Vita Games of 2014
This has been a hell of a year for the Vita, as far as I'm concerned. Rogue Legacy was my pick, but there's been some really stellar stuff.
