Re: Reaction: Why There Are So Many Unnecessary PS5 Remasters for Games That Don't Need Them

mountain_spider

@Phelaidar the only problem about going that far back like the PlayStation 2 specifically, graphically they're low quality compared to everything they have now especially with high definition TV exposes a lot of the graphical elements. Now, if you mean, a remake completely similar to what Capcom did with resident evil then yeah that makes sense. I'd be completely fine with that. I thought it was trashy of naughty dog to label it uncharted collection, when it's missing one to three.

Re: Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth's Huge PS5 Pro Enhancements Are a 'Vast Improvement'

mountain_spider

@Shalooda this is my problem with it. All they talked about was performance mode enhancements not anything with Fidelity. I'd like to know how Fidelity mode would benefit also clearly they're keeping everything silent. This isn't a good way to convince people to buy the system. The only games I've played in performance mode has been stellar Blade and black myth. Because they required precise, counterattack, and movement speed.

Re: Blizzard Reportedly Made $150 Million in Diablo 4 Microtransactions

mountain_spider

@Nightcrawler71 Same here. It's a shame they don't even put any effort in making the in game armor look awesome and detailed plus unique like the micro transaction one. Instead bare bones outfit, I wouldn't have a problem with micro transactions, even though I would prefer not to have them to have them. It's just disappointing they don't put the effort in the game items.

Re: Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth 'Hugely Improved' on PS5 Pro, a 'Night and Day' Difference

mountain_spider

@RubyCarbuncle same here. I think I'm going to wait because I need to see more before and after videos what they showed, didn't really seem like a major improvement. I get the impression that you'll still have performance mode, but it'll look a bit better visually, so what about quality/fidelity mode? Didn't speak about the improvements of quality mode. That right there makes me wonder.

@nomither6 it's nice to know you took a worldwide survey to gauge popularity. Also, the fact that you're saying that it's a very unpopular opinion and shows the tons of people bring it up for a reason so clearly it's not unpopular, if you're still hearing it. It's just the truth. There's a lot of garbage stuff flooding the store and I bought them all the time so I know, you had a really dig around to find a quality one. The fact that you completely ignore while admitting there was a lot of garbage stuff and you have to look around pretty much just verifies my statement. They had way too much garbage. The vast majority of people don't care about wallpapers. Would it be a nice addition? Yes but I'm pretty positive. They did a survey and most likely found out people just don't care.

EDIT: to answer your other point about the PlayStation three yes they had them, and they added it way late into the lifecycle of the system. Then they went on overdrive and added it by default and purchased ones on the PS4, but there was a lot of garbage ones in the system. The fact that it didn't make it for PS five shows that they probably did some survey and realize people just don't care. There's all the things to worry about then having your wallpaper in the back of your gaming console, it may be a priority to you, but it's not for everybody. And clearly it's a popular subject because you constantly hear it.

@Blofse

3-D sound for AVR of been out for a couple months man. But you have to have a 3-D audio system meaning Atmos surround. Than sound, audio and switch from DD/DTS to Atmos. I believe it takes the information and spreads it out for 3-D audio but it's still slightly inferior from True 3-D audio Atmos not like on a physical disk from Movies because it came in randomly years later.

I don't believe anybody's pushed/advertised a game that makes use of their 3-D sound. So it's basically a lower quality version of Atmos 3-D. I'm not 100% sure but I believe the XB had it by default at launch. It's not Sony's proprietary 3-D audio but they promised it technically is the main supported version but it's not the one they constantly touted in house. Atmos is better than any 3D audio tech.

@nomither6 tbh I don't even know why themes are still thing before the whole store was getting flooded with nothing but garbage high definition theme or gif like themes. Sure you could upload your own and make it, but it was just another unnecessary space of garbage quality backgrounds.

Plus all the games nowadays have their own background/music it isn't really needed. I think taking away the theme makes everything more unified for all players. They need to go back to a background like the previous unit with different colors like a startup animation or water flow... those actually look better because they were professionally designed by them.

Re: Poll: Would You Buy PS5 Pro If It Was Cheaper?

mountain_spider

@playstation1995

Same here, man I've been with them since day one I thought they learned their lesson from the nightmare of the PS3 and if you remember when the PlayStation 4 came out and five following the same design pattern, their games can more quickly be developed because their standard PC, not exotic stuff like to CELL or proprietary engines. Yet I feel their increasing prices all across the board controllers, PlayStation plus, hardware $200 freaking controllers or was that 250? The list goes on and on. Nothing but remasters and stupid decisions like have dust born or Concorde.

And we still have not gotten a cheap price plan to be able to play online, either go back to being free, or at least charge a cheap price for online yearly like $20 but without the free game and include the Online save back up. I don't even play online but extremely rare and I don't see the value of free games because I buy all my games. I have what I want...

I think ever since Sony started charging for online giving you a game I've only downloaded 2/3 in all those years. The only time I was playing online a lot, was for uncharted 4 MP and about a month of Tekken 8 before I canceled it.

Re: Poll: Would You Buy PS5 Pro If It Was Cheaper?

mountain_spider

@Jeaz yeah, but remember when the PlayStation 4 pro came out, it was very decently priced for an OK upgrade. Was pretty much the same price as the normal unit and that including everything. I truthfully believe that the PS 6 is going to be either about the same price or $600 with a separate disc drive at $80. I think next generation they're going to sell one unit where you can buy a third-party hard drive attachment as default to make up money.

I wouldn't mind if the upgrade is noticeable like stable frame rate, high quality visual, not having to always downgrade to performance, etc..

I like the PS five but I was never a fan of the reflections on glass and water because they're barely noticeable and at the end of the day, you're swinging at 100 mph a Spider-Man not attached to glass to see it, and devil may cry the glass reflections, including the water puddles barely were noticeable, even in Tokyo ghost. And they were really hyping up those enhancements, but it completely kills the fps and the resolution.

Re: Poll: Would You Buy PS5 Pro If It Was Cheaper?

mountain_spider

@Bamila

Black myth the new game including stellar blade I believe use the unreal engine and their performance mode is 1080 P. Black myth has a lot of details environment so I feel like a lot of of the times all the tiny details are going into the surrounding area, but you're just not getting the higher resolution that you've been promised for the past two generations. It's like they're giving you low quality resolution, but trying to make it up with visuals and don't realize that it's really destroying the overall presentation.

Re: Poll: Would You Buy PS5 Pro If It Was Cheaper?

mountain_spider

I think 499 would've been a better price point. I would be willing to buy it even if I had to spend an $80 extra on the disc drive. Because at least I can buy them on my leisure time. We all know that buying the physical disk unit is profit for Sony. For what it's worth, I don't feel that it's a must have unit slightly improved shadows and improve lighting system, which is barely noticeable. Same goes for reflections is not worth it.

The light system is the only thing that's noticeable, but reflections barely stands out. And the presentation was slightly confusing.

For example, they're taking away or understand that most people want performance so they stabilize the performance mode but it looks like they're enhancing the visual fidelity in performance mode but that doesn't guarantee 4K like article said earlier and some would run a 30 depending on the kind. So what about Quality/fidelity mode?

I don't have a problem with 30 FPS as it's not a high performance demanding twitchy control type game like a fighting system, shooter, etc. I have more of a problem with he announced that the vast majority of people use performance... we don't have any other choice if we want accurate movement. I would never play black myth or stellar blade using high Fidelity because it looks like they're fighting water. So all these games releasing with high-quality visuals, you're forced to downgrade them to stabilize them and Sony is apparently trying to take out the guest work.

It sounds like you're still in performance mode but with enhanced visual, but it hasn't really explored what would happen with going with fidelity mode I think most people would prefer fidelity mode or quality if the character wasn't bogged down.

Re: Talking Point: Is PS5 Pro Way Too Expensive?

mountain_spider

@UltimateOtaku91

I feel like next generation what they should do is offer the standard unit and a pro model (like you said) or at least the ability to upgrade like a computer and buy the part later when they produce it/make it accessible like let's say have a standard PlayStation six however it's upgradable when they bring down the prices and develop it later in the years.. You can just buy an attachment to change the internals and then launch a unit that has all the internals changed already.

Re: Talking Point: Is PS5 Pro Way Too Expensive?

mountain_spider

I expected more along the lines of 600.. $700 , 80 (disk) + 30$ for a stand and no disc drive is a dealbreaker for most.

I think next generation they should sell a console at a decent price without the disc drive and give the option for anyone to upgrade by physically buying one to keep the cost separate. Have a list of compatible blu-ray drives you can buy anywhere not just Sony approved.

I would prefer a whole complete unit and not completely remove it. But having one unit that simply has both of the items combined (inside of a box) or handed out separate could work for the future.

Have the stand included next generation, but have the ability to attach it later I think most would work with that. But this generation doing that seems like a high risk, especially when their games are pretty much nonexistent. I've had the system since launch and don't feel that there's a lot of games worth justifying it. Final Fantasy already played it, Black Myth totally worth it, Stellar blade, good but they came this year. We haven't seen anything interesting other than remakes.

Anyways, back to a console I feel like the PlayStation five pro is overpriced and lacking way too many things. They're just not enough games right now and let me realistic the game we did see were previous older games having a little bit of a buff.

If they would've sold the unit for 500 and then a separate disc drive for 80 I think most would've taken the plunge.

Re: PS5 Pro Showcase Set for Tomorrow, Hosted by Mark Cerny

mountain_spider

@SerScoundrel I hope so. Also, I really wish they would stay with an upper model last generation engine so that we can at least get stable frame. I don't mind all the pretty animations and things, but if it start slowing down on high action game, it's pointless. Tekken 8 had the luminous engine (use it as advertising for the game, then removed), which looked phenomenal and then they removed the last minute because they couldn't get a stable 60 frames. Which is understandable for twitchy fighting games.
