Re: Random: Hitman 3 Psycho Spends 10 Hours Crushing Mendoza's Entire Population in the Grape Press

I did something equally as tedious in Deus Ex mankind divided where I killed all the baddies and the NPCs in the hubworld and dragged and piled all their bodies up in my characters apartment. It was a big hill of bodies in the bedroom! It tanked the frame rate as well. I think I did it because I was bored of the game and I had recently read an article about Warren Spector criticising violence in video games

Re: Poll: What's Your Most Anticipated PS5, PS4 Game of 2021?

ralphdibny

Im not that familiar with all the games listed.

I guess god of war Ragnarok would be good cos I'm playing through the series at the moment.

I have the first horizon but haven't played it yet. I'd like to play Gotham knights if it has a single player. Hogwarts legacy looks interesting but I doubt I'd buy it day one, if at all. That's probably true for all the games I've selected though.

Not sure how many of those games are coming out on PS4 either so I won't get too excited for any of them

@gbanas92 haha well I knew what sound you meant based on what you ended up typing! I don't think as many people would recognise it if you typed any real words that you think you can discern from the noise. I definitely had an idea for what the other mask says but I really can't remember it now. I feel like I remember reading that it was a nonsense sound anyway, no real words involved apart from what we attribute to it!

Anyway, nice interview! Apologies for focusing solely on the subheading with my comment but the interview was interesting too!

Re: Poll: Do You Actually Play Your PS Plus Games?

ralphdibny

I try to but I have like 100 hundred on PS4 alone, let alone Vita and PS3 that I still haven't played. I don't want to renew my sub in May as I rarely play online but I do want to play these games and get my money's worth.

I wish the online portion was cheaper or free by itself, then I could justify just buying that for the odd time my mate wants to have a game online without having to worry about a time limited back log slowly building up

I've always tried to work out what Uka Uka and Aku Aku say when it sounds like "oogabooga". For a while I was happy that they just said their names in a distorted way.

But when I was heavy into Crash Team Racing, I think Uka Uka (if that's the bad one? I can never remember) actually says or at least sounds like he's saying "IdontBelieveIt" really fast when a bad character with a mask gets hit.

Re: eBay Users Are Trying to Flog Photographs of the PS5

ralphdibny

It's mad that people don't read listings these days. if I receive an offer on an item that I think looks better in the photo than it is, I always message the buyer with excerpts of the description so they definitely know what they're buying and don't come back with issues later on. I'm a rubbish business man though 😂

Disclaimer: I'm not selling ps5 photos

@nessisonett have you checked your junk mail for that photograph?

Re: Random: Indulge in PS5's UK Release with the Greggs & PlayStation Launch Box

ralphdibny

Greggs donuts are the best cheap donuts you can buy. I know Krispy Kreme are good but Greggs are like a third of the price and are basically as good and in some cases better. I once bought every single donut they did in one go so I could finally decide which one was best. I decided on Triple chocolate.

Also their coffee is pretty good so a sweet treat deal with a cappuccino and a triple chocolate donut is delish

Also their breakfast baguette and coffee deal is amazing, anyway I'll stop shilling for Greggs but I had just forgotten how munch it was since I haven't had one since way before the pandemic!

@NEStalgia I think overall you are correct, the main downside that I experience is that I end up buying a lot more rubbish that I probably wouldn't have if I didn't see targeted ads/sponsored content and the other weird and subtle methods there are to liberate you of your money. I know a lot of those sorts of ads can easily be seen through and avoided but some stuff is definitely low key enough to work. My garage full of George Foreman Lean Mean Grilling machines can attest to that....just kidding haha

I know it's a bit of a separate thing but I understand that the EU didn't take very kindly to the information Snowden leaked about the extent of US surveillance which I believe led to them upping security and possibly being less lenient towards the big US data collection firms like Apple and Amazon in general. I may be conflating the points there but it's a bit out of my scope to understand it all. All I know is that companies and governments collect the data, I don't feel particularly comfortable with it but I accept it begrudgingly and as little as possible in exchange for their goods and services.

Re: PS4 Firmware Update 8.01 Is Available to Download Now

ralphdibny

@NEStalgia yeah it's pretty bad in my opinion, I always turn off or choose the most limited option of the data gathering options on all my devices. But I do realise it's still being collected on certain things, it's just the trade off I have to accept for using something like a mobile phone.

There's probably not a lot we can do about it as individuals and some laws have been passed (in the UK at least) that give us better protections but normally a different law that overrides it gets passed when there is a terror attack or something.

I don't watch them but there seem to be a lot of popular documentaries out these days that I think are increasing people's awareness though I'm sure a lot of people still just don't care.
