Re: PS4 Games That Need a PS5 Patch

skaarj217

@tomassi AC Syndicate has severe flickering textures issues on PS5, to the degree that the game is almost unplayable because looking at it will make your eyes burn. This is the same bug that used to plague the game running on a PS4 Pro, but they made a patch for it. I believe that making 'the same' patch for PS5 is a no-brainer, but Ubi doesn't care about this game for some reason. They even removed it from the Store on PS5.
Last time I played it, I had to play it on PS4, even though I already had a PS5.

AC Unity is fully playable and has no issues on PS5.

Assassin's Creed Syndicate needs a patch to just run properly on the PS5 at all. I had to buy it on Xbox - it has no issues running on the Series X. It is still unplayable on PS5, sadly. But seems that Ubisoft just doesn't care.

Re: Reaction: We Need to Talk About Tiny Tina on PS Plus

From what I see, PS+ is trending to be less and less attractive, while GamePass to be more and more.
Nevertheless, at least one useful function of PS+ remains: syncing saves with the cloud, which gives the ability to easily jump playing from one of your PS's to another.

Re: Updated PlayStation Patent Has Fans in Backwards Compatibility Frenzy, But It's a Reach

Okay, I've just checked throwing an audio CD and an audio CD-R into the PS5 and XSX.
Xbox launched a "Groove" application which started playing music from both my CD and CD-R (it even downloaded some covers to display while playing).
PS5 continued to spin the disc indefinitely (after waiting for about 1 minute, I ejected the disc), that was true for both the CD-R and pressed CD.
That means, we can make a conclusion that the PS5 does not read CD (but it's unknown if it's a software or hardware limitation), while the Xbox Series X can, at least, play audio CDs.
Both consoles have Ultra-HD Blu-Ray drives.

Re: Assassin's Creed Origins 60FPS Patch Likely as Ubisoft Investigates

skaarj217

I finished Syndicate on my base PS4. This and Shadow Of The Colossus (which has blurred textures on PS5) were the last games before I moved the PS4 to my old room at my parent's home.

Hopefully there won't be any more games that won't run properly on PS5. Although, DOOM (2016) and SOMA have flickering textures in a few places (not annoying really) on PS5.

Re: PS5 SSD: How to Install an Internal SSD and Expand Your Storage

skaarj217

@johncalmc Because having installed 40 games ready to play on the console is better than 5 — you can scroll through them left and right, and vice versa... and choose... what do I want to play today, right now?.. This? Or maybe this? No, this one!

In reality, however, for some users, like you or myself, this won't be needed at all. I prefer playing one, in some rare cases two games, at a time. If I'm playing Assassin's Creed Syndicate these days, I will be playing it until I finish it. I don't WANT to play another game. I want to fully immerse myself into the Victorian era of the game.

But there are many players who indeed play not even several, but MANY games at once. I know gamers who play 6 to 10 various games per day. Those gamers will play probably the same games next day, but it's again 6 to 10 games per day!
They need much storage on the console to live like that. 😅

Re: Seagate FireCuda 530 Is the First Third-Party SSD Compatible with PS5

skaarj217

@Dezzy70 I don't see PS5 as something totally different from a computer. You can't just plug-and-play an M.2 SSD into a PC - you have to remove the side plate (or whatever) of your computer case, take a screwdriver, locate that M.2 slot and very, very carefully (!) insert the SSD into it and tighten it with the screwdriver. Not very user friendly, but if that stopped you from doing it, you'd probably called a specialist to help. I don't see why it has to be any different with the PS5. The console is a technological piece of hardware and should be taken with care and only if you know what you're doing.

Re: Walmart Upgrades Some PS5 Digital Edition Orders to Blu-ray Model

skaarj217

Disc version looks a lot uglier, IMHO. As if designers just didn't know where to put the disc drive in the encasement. Hey, I'm by no means a fanboy but speaking of the design vs disc drive the XSX is a good example of how to get it all right. Such replacement would disappoint people who deliberately wanted the disc-less version, and I believe design was one of the main points for those people.
But yes - this is a first world problem.

Re: New PS Vita Games Will Sadly Cease This Summer

skaarj217

@Boucho11 Yes, absolutely. I have the physical box of the Trilogy for Vita and played through them all. One of the AA titles on the system, I'd say. Graphics is very good and gameplay is too, despite being a linear 2D action/stealth platformer. China is the best of the three, India is rather good, Russia is on the weak side, but in general the collection is a must have for AC fans.

Re: Talking Point: Would You Buy a PS1, PS2, or PS3 Emulator for PS5?

skaarj217

If Sony doesn't provide an emulator (and I would happily pay for it!), then I will jailbreak my Vita and install RetroArch. Sad but it's a simple solution. If Sony doesn't want to provide a way to legally buy games for legacy systems, then I don't care about legality of such actions because Sony will make me do this.

Re: PS3, PS Vita, and PSP Online Stores to Close This Summer, Says New Report

skaarj217

Is there a way to re-download a purchased game on the Vita without going to the PS Vita Store, searching for that game and clicking on the Download button on the game's page? I'm afraid that if they shut down the Store, we won't be able to re-download any games at all.
Will we also lose access to PS+ games on the Vita? The console checks periodically when you try to launch a game that the game is still eligible for download (your PS+ subscription has not expired). I'm wondering, what will be with these games?..
