@Ken_Kaniff Does the power supply on your PS4 Pro make a buzzing sound? Is the disc drive starting to have issues reading discs? Do you get randomly logged out, causing the game you're playing to close and you have to log back in?
Yeah, even though I like my PS4 Pro (it's the red Spider-Man one from 2018), I miss my old regular PS4, which had none of those problems.
@Spanky nothing hits that funny bone than in the first level, it ends with the sultry female voice saying, "I hope you enjoyed your first suck..." while "funky" music plays in the background
I like that Sony is bringing back these games that are theirs but were localized by third parties in other regions. Hopefully they follow with others like Ape Escape Pumped and Primed, Flipnic, Devil Dice and Bombastic, Wipeout Fusion... (there were so, so many!)
@pharos_haven I wouldn't say that was a "nail in the coffin" for the Saga series, more like an extended hiatus, because with multiple re-releases and remakes, as well as two new entries (Scarlet Grace and Emerald Beyond), the Saga series seems be alive and well.
@get2sammyb I remember back in the PS3 days, a PSone Classics re-release of Rival Schools was being held up due to some rights issues with the voice actors. And when they did finally figure it out, it was released only in Japan 😞
@Shepherd_Tallon the emulator being used here has the same interface as the ones for PS1 and PSP. They are updated fairly often with new features so it's a given that the PS2 emulator will be updated in the near future, hopefully.
@Flaming_Kaiser the funny thing is today, Capcom just released the original PC version of Resident Evil on GOG.com, with the PC versions of 2 and 3 to follow later on.
I was playing Sly 1 on the PS3 collection yesterday and my four-year-old nephew came into my room and was watching me play. Whenever Sly and Bentley would talk to each other, my nephew kept moving back and forth to look at their faces on each corner of the screen. I hope he checks out the game when he gets older.
@Ken_Kaniff Ghosthunter is a PS2 action game from SCEE Cambridge, the creators of MediEvil and Primal, or more recently, as Guerilla Cambridge, before their closure, Killzone Mercenary for Vita and RIGS for PSVR.
Ghosthunter is a good game to check out if you like spooky stuff and action.
@VatoLoco47 It's not gonna be on PS Premium, since it's not a PS1 game running in Sony's emulator. Limited Run is producing and publishing this new version using their Carbon Engine and it's also coming out on Switch and PC as well.
@LikelySatan no problem. Don't get me wrong, it's still a fun game, but they shadow dropped it on Switch and it felt like that came at the expense of giving it the proper amount of time to make sure it was firing on all cylinders.
Day one for me. If you love platformers and miss the kind of games Japan Studio made before their unceremonious closure, don't sleep on this, lest Team Asobi meet the same fate...
@LikelySatan Yes, with an Epic Games account. I played it on Switch and each time it signs in to Epic, the controller vibration is turned off for some reason.
Also, early on, putting the system to sleep while signed in caused a bug where all of the menu button prompt icons would be replaced with an RT icon.
So hopefully they took their time with QA for these new versions. Hopefully.
This is cool, I loved Jet Moto back in the PS1 days. Now I'm wondering which version of Jet Moto 2 they're using for this rerelease-- the original or the championship edition?
@supergurr Speak for yourself. There are two excellent PSP versions of fighting games, especially Tekken 6, more Ape Escape, which is never a bad thing and to top it all off, IQ Final, which, and I am sure I'm speaking for a number of gamers here, we are finally getting outside of Japan and Europe.
@Kang81 Think of it this way-- Getting the PS5 (and the PS4 for that matter) to emulate PS3 games is like trying (and struggling) to learn a new language.
The PS3's architecture is very complicated, whereas that of the PS4 and PS5 is simplified. And this doesn't just apply to PS3, just about every type of emulator over the years requires some work and significant system power to even match the system it's targeting.
@MaikonCSGarcia Id Software retained the copyright for Quake 4 despite Activision's publishing. And there were later re-releases on Steam (2011) and GOG (2017) that were published by Bethesda. So it's definitely possible.
"...has drawn some comparisons to Top Gun: Maverick, directed by Joseph Kosinski, which is the kind of company you want to keep."
That's an interesting comparison, considering that apparently, back in 2013, there was an different version of the GT movie with Kosinski attached to direct.
@get2sammyb For Pursuit Force, I'm actually wondering about any of the following: -Will they pick one version (Europe or North America) for all regions or will either region get their specific version? -Will they give us the option to select either version in the emulator like in the PS1 classics?
@get2sammyb I was playing it on my PSP not that long ago and wondered if it would hit the service. Now here it is! The game is really hard, I can't get past the final mission and I'm playing the supposedly easier US version.
I've gotten back into PSP lately, having bought a replacement one at work and purchasing some new games for it. But redownloading games has been a pain because of the limited store and outdated Wi-Fi.
In terms of games, I'd like to add Final Fantasy Type-O to the list. Sure, it never came out in English on PSP, but it's still a top-shelf game regardless.
I was just thinking about her this morning, wondering that, if she didn't get to play Tess in the series, she would appear as a new character in season 2. I can't believe she's gone, she was such an amazing actress and wonderful person.
Actually, today was the day the merger was announced, but it didn't actually go into effect until April 1, 2003, when the former Enix absorbed Square and became Square Enix.
This reminds me of back in the PS2 days when EA published and localized the original Kessen and then, a few years later, EA distributed the original Samurai Warriors for Koei.
