Re: We Almost Got a Brand New Jumping Flash Game for PSVR2

This licensing business that Sony is doing could lead to some cool stuff if done right. How's this for a hypothetical idea:

A dormant Sony RPG IP:
-Arc the Lad
-Legend of Dragoon
-Legaia
-Wild Arms

being remade by a developer known for RPGs:
-Square Enix
-Atlus
-Bandai Namco's Tales team

Or Level-5 licensing Dark Cloud, Rogue Galaxy, Jeanne d'Arc or White Knight Chronicles from Sony and making a new game themselves.

Re: Reaction: Sony Finally Understands the Assignment with One of the Best State of Plays of the PS5 Era

zidane4028

This was one hell of a State of Play. Very Japan-focused.

On a related note: man alive, am I sick of hearing all these calls for Bloodborne 2. The first was great, and a second one would be great too. But two things:

1. If it was gonna happen, it would have happened already. From is busy with other games and the producer at Sony Japan left so it's even less likely there will be a Bloodborne 2.

2. Even if it was in development, they're not gonna show it unless it looked like it was in an acceptable state. Whenever someone shows a game and it looks and runs kind of rough, it's picked apart immediately and ruthlessly, despite the fact that it's still in development with more time to go in order to optimize it to look and run better.

Sorry about the rant, but it's getting old that people dismiss a kickass State of Play because the game they feel they're owed was not shown.

Re: Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart Showcases the Problem with Sony's Games on PS5 Pro

@Ken_Kaniff Does the power supply on your PS4 Pro make a buzzing sound? Is the disc drive starting to have issues reading discs? Do you get randomly logged out, causing the game you're playing to close and you have to log back in?

Yeah, even though I like my PS4 Pro (it's the red Spider-Man one from 2018), I miss my old regular PS4, which had none of those problems.

Re: Sly Cooper PS2 Is PS Plus Premium's Biggest Classic Hit So Far

zidane4028

I was playing Sly 1 on the PS3 collection yesterday and my four-year-old nephew came into my room and was watching me play. Whenever Sly and Bentley would talk to each other, my nephew kept moving back and forth to look at their faces on each corner of the screen. I hope he checks out the game when he gets older.

Re: 14 PS Plus Extra, Premium Games Announced for June 2024

@Ken_Kaniff Ghosthunter is a PS2 action game from SCEE Cambridge, the creators of MediEvil and Primal, or more recently, as Guerilla Cambridge, before their closure, Killzone Mercenary for Vita and RIGS for PSVR.

Ghosthunter is a good game to check out if you like spooky stuff and action.

Re: Mini Review: Horizon Chase 2 (PS5) - Around the World in 80 Revs

zidane4028

@LikelySatan Yes, with an Epic Games account. I played it on Switch and each time it signs in to Epic, the controller vibration is turned off for some reason.

Also, early on, putting the system to sleep while signed in caused a bug where all of the menu button prompt icons would be replaced with an RT icon.

So hopefully they took their time with QA for these new versions. Hopefully.

Re: Is Sony Working on a New PS2 Emulator for PS5, PS4?

zidane4028

@Kang81 Think of it this way-- Getting the PS5 (and the PS4 for that matter) to emulate PS3 games is like trying (and struggling) to learn a new language.

The PS3's architecture is very complicated, whereas that of the PS4 and PS5 is simplified. And this doesn't just apply to PS3, just about every type of emulator over the years requires some work and significant system power to even match the system it's targeting.

Re: New PS Plus Premium Classic Games Will Ship with Trophies

zidane4028

@get2sammyb For Pursuit Force, I'm actually wondering about any of the following:
-Will they pick one version (Europe or North America) for all regions or will either region get their specific version?
-Will they give us the option to select either version in the emulator like in the PS1 classics?

Re: Best PSP Games

zidane4028

I've gotten back into PSP lately, having bought a replacement one at work and purchasing some new games for it. But redownloading games has been a pain because of the limited store and outdated Wi-Fi.

In terms of games, I'd like to add Final Fantasy Type-O to the list. Sure, it never came out in English on PSP, but it's still a top-shelf game regardless.
