Re: Mini Review: The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (PS5) - A Bare Bones Asymmetrical Multiplayer Experience

My friend got this game (on pc) and he's having a lot of fun with it. He's a pretty experienced player for DBD and also played Friday the 13th. I was worried matches would be too similar but it seems in the early stages he's having a lot of fun.

While I'm not personally interested in buying this because I have DBD and also a TON of games to buy this year, I figured I'd put that input out there.

@Trousersnake to be fair, I only played like 20 minutes of the intro, so I didn't get to see settlements, or any of that stuff. Maybe it looks better in more confined spaces. I got started on a snow planet this time which was new. Again, I do feel it was massively improved. With all the hype I saw on reddit I went in believing it was going to be like Red Matter 2 and to me it just wasn't unfortunately. It's still a great upgrade!

And it isn't all on my expectations. I played Kayak VR for the first time, expecting it to look great, and it does! Not perfect but great. I also tried Synth Riders for the first time and it was way better than I expected. But again, both of those games don't have the same scope as something like NMS, which might be one of the most ambitious games on the platform with how vast and procedurally generated it is.

@thefourfoldroot1 Yeah, I would have loved for it to look that good, but to my eye it just doesn't. But it makes sense with how big and open NMS is vs how corridor like Red Matter 2 is. I think it's like if it was the worst looking PSVR2 game there was (which is what a lot of people said), it's now around mid tier instead of top tier

@Trousersnake @thefourfoldroot1 I feel like I'm taking crazy pills, but I loaded it up last night and it in no way matches Red Matter 2 for me in graphical fidelity. It's definitely a step up from where it was and makes it a lot more playable but I can name several games with much better graphical fidelity.

It's still awesome that they updated the graphics, I just need to be honest.

Re: PS Store Sales Charts: Final Fantasy 16 Can't Stop Diablo 4 from June Number One

@WallyWest 16 is a WAY better Final Fantasy game than 12 or 15. Story, gameplay, music, world etc. Combat is great and more varied than you think. Two of my best friends are playing and since I’m ahead of them, I’ve watched them play and we all use different abilities and approach combat differently. I’m saying all this as someone who also loves turn based, one of my top two games this year is turn based.

You’re obviously the one with bias based on your comments here. You’re coming off as really abrasive. It’s ok to have different opinions but maybe don’t speak for everyone.

I love this! I had been waiting for 3 years and it’s met all my expectations. My runs tend to be long though because I almost always go through all biomes I’ve done so far to a) accumulate gold, b) continue to learn layouts and enemy types and c) get xp for that class. I think it’s gonna help in the NG+ runs. Just made it to the sixth biome.

Re: PSVR2 Sales May Actually Be Stronger Than Has Been Suggested

@AtlanteanMan I guess I didn't specify, the issue I was having is that the right controller would work in menus but not in game, so I couldn't select anything (whether it was my play area) or in an nfl demo's case, agreeing to the EULA.

It's a known issue for random units, they said they could fix with a software patch but they have no idea how long it might take. Some people have had the issue since launch so I figured I'd just go ahead and get it exchanged.

@AtlanteanMan I don't own GT7 yet, but either way, they made me send in the entire VR unit even though it was just the controller that was defective. It's listed as a return and not a repair (which is supposed to be faster) but supposedly the warehouse that ships to me is super fast with purchases but ridiculously slow with exchanges. One guy on Twitter said it took 4 weeks for him to get his back. They say up to 10 business days just to process before sending out. My 10th business day is Tuesday so I guess we'll see.
