Re: How to Pre-Order PS5 Pro

Still showing as in stock, got it in my basket and trying to pay but get a repeated 'something went wrong' message.

EDIT: and now kicked out after 10 minutes since my queue number has expired. Amazon it is in a couple of weeks.

Played it, completed it, loved it. Really interesting fantasy 18th Century setting, combat deeper than it looks, nice turns from the actors playing Nor and Enki, and hey, there might be a bit of jank, but when it's got this sort of character and heart, and is such good old fashioned fun, who cares?

Surprisingly moving ending, too. Although that last boss can GRTF.

Re: 700 Ubisoft Workers Strike in France Following Failed Salary Negotiations

@IntrepidWombat in my union our recent successful strike action has restored £10k a year to my pension when I retire. Worth every penny of my subs and will lead to plenty more PlayStation time.

And whatever jurisdiction you're in, when you run into trouble or layoffs come, not being a member leaves you much more vulnerable. Besides, I believe in collective power of workers rather than individualism.

Re: Days Gone Dev on New PS5 Exclusive: We're Cooking

@EfYI Been playing video games for nearly 40 years, have a PhD. Bit of a strange question, but there you go.

Days Gone is by no means a bad game - it's just alright and has its occasional moment, but is let down by profoundly bad character writing and generic open world gameplay. Plus any game with forced insta-fail stealth sections can just get stuffed.

'Masterpiece' implies to me an era-defining game, one of the best of all time, whereas I find Days Gone instantly forgettable.
