I think people truly forget how expensive it is to get into PC gaming , especially in 2021 . The days of making budget pcs that could match or surpass consoles are truly gone and to game on a pc is now a very expensive hobby that could cost you 1500-2000 euros.

The PS5 and Series X can match the performance of a GTX2070 for 500 euros . There is no way anyone could build a pc to match this performance and keep it under 500 euros .

There is alot of value in the console market for a long long time .

At the end of the day Game development has gotten so expensive to make these big AAA games that Sony and MS need to recoup extra money elsewhere to keep paying their employees and even make more games .

The games are what matters most than the plastic box you play on .

I can see returnal making its way to pc soon .

The best Final Fantasy game will always be Final fantasy VI

Fire whoever is responsible for that design change !

I played Xenogears and 3d dot game heroes on my ps3 this year and next year I am planning on playing Drakengard 3 .

still have abit of a backlog of ps3 games Ive yet to play :3

My backlog of unfinished games is bigger than both Tyr and Lady Dimitrescu!

I already went in with low expectations and still was disappointed.
Alot of the games we already knew about and the last 5-10mins does not make up for the showcase as a whole .

alot of the games that were shown last year like Tokyo Ghostwire still dont have a release date .

and its really hard to get excited over the wolverine and spiderman 2 trailers when they were just CGI trailers .

overall the showcase was a 6/10

@spyro202 This was back in 2017 I think ?? it was removed from Steam and Xbox Storefront at the time .

We could be facing a even longer Console lifecycle with the playstation 5/xbox series x if they cant fix these Shortages issues soon . I have never seen anything like this before

before Alan wake got discontinued on steam I bought it for 3 euros . its crazy to think this game is going to cost 50-60 euros on consoles :/

You cant really compare past consoles to the PS5/Xbox series x.

There were hardware limitations with the old consoles compared to the newer ones which are designed to bring over the previous gen to this gen and make it easy and seemless according to Mark Cerny himself .

But the messaging has been way too complicated more than once now since the PS5 launch and no one is to be blamed other than Sony .

The Uproar is Sony made a promise on their blog to the 120 million PS4 users that if they purchased the ps4 version of the game whether its Spiderman Miles morales , Sackboy adventure or Horizon forbidden west they would get a free upgrade . but sony has now decided because they said launch and horizon had to be delayed to next year ( missing its launch window ) Sony used that has a loophole to charge people .

at the end of the day Sony were banking on the idea people double dipping buying Horizon Forbidden West on the ps4 then buying it on the ps5 again .

With every rogue-like and Metroidvania game that is made there is dozens and dozens more different type of games that are made each year . I cant exactly say the same thing when it comes to AAA games .

The current state of the Modern AAA games will collapse as it cannot cope with the rising cost of game development.
Whoever says 8 hour games are not worth it clearly didnt start gaming till the early years of the ps3/360 era.

All the best games of all time list you see on every gaming site . 99% of games were 15 hours or less long in game length .

The problem with Modern AAA games is that they are overly long , boring games with so much padding that over stay their welcome. Every Modern AAA game is a carbon copy of a ubisoft game that copys and paste the same gaming ideas from assassin creed and far cry .

Thankfully we will have the indie game scene thats keeping things fresh and exciting .

The Playstation Slogan ( for the players) should be changed to "For the Payers"

Well Sony has never had an exciting direct showcase so far so I wont get myself too excited with this one .
Whatever you guys are most hyped seeing probably wont be shown so go in with low expectations to save yourself from being hurt or upset over it XD

with the amount of patches the devs keep bringing out , you wouldnt be able to even install it on the PS5

If he does end up leaving Sega I wish him all the success.
Toshihiro Nagoshi has worked on some of my favourite games as a child when Sega AM2 was still around with Virtua Fighter 2, Daytona , Super Monkeyball and Shenmue .

The work he has done building Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio I think would be in very healthy state to continue on without him . He is 56 years old and given game development takes roughly 5-6 years , hes best to leave making 1 or 2 more games before he decides to retire .

Nothing yet is set in stone if he is leaving or not but he remains as one of the most important people working at Sega alongside Yu Suzuki and Yukio Futatsugi

Alright I will play this game . Games that have microtransactions/loot boxes ( that are majority of the time cosmetic items only ) Anyone Who complains about it are ENTITLED BABIES. Get over yourself.

Not sure how you can call people entitled when they are paying 60 euros for a Subscription service each year . If it was a free service I would agree with you but if someone is paying for something they have the right to voice their opinion .

don't get me wrong I am not even a Pokemon fan but I was simply pointing out comparing Dokev to Pokemon is pointless considering one is a tech-demo probably running off the latest GTX 3080 Graphic cards and the other game is running off a Mobile Chip from 2014 .

I never stated being top of game charts = Quality but at the same time you can never expect to see this big of an improvement unless Nintendo releases a platform that has the same level of power as current platforms .

Pokémon Legends: Arceus was about as much as I expected it would look and still it looks like its going to struggle at keeping a steady framerate . but despite all this it will most likely break sale records again. is it annoying ? Yes! cause it would be nice to play these games looking the best they can but at the end of the day its hard to see anything changing .

@nessisonett Spot on ! . Its less misleading and just marketing push for the Ps5 in my eyes . Its no different when Sega used the term Blast Processing as a marketing push against the Super Nintendo .

Well in fairness to Game Freak the Nintendo Switch Tegra chip is a custom mobile phone chip thats 7 years old at this point and there is only so much Game freak can do with the hardware limitations of the Nintendo switch.

at the end of the day Dokev Developer have something like 3 games in development that they announced years ago that still have no solid release date and I would expect the same for Dokev that this game wont be coming for a very long time .

Regardless of Pokemon graphics the games are still coming to sell 10-20 million copies easily .

While I understand Sony reason for closing Sony Japan Studios I am still not happy about it . The reason I loved Playstation was for all the interesting games they used to make and fund . jumping flash, Tokyo Jungle , Tomba , Ape escape , Gravity Rush , Kula World , Everybody golf , Ico , Shadow of the colossus , the last guardian, Fat Princess .

These are the reasons why playstation 1 ,2 and 3 were so memorable to me . I have to be honest guys the older I get and the more new gaming generations come the more I get bored with AAA gaming. If it were not for the indie game scene and Japanese studios like Fromsoftware , Capcom and Nintendo I would Quit gaming .

While Yes Japan studios games never sold well they still did alot of work co-developing games with Bloodborne , Demon souls remake Déraciné to name a few , at the end of the day it was not Sony Japan Studios that failed Sony , it was Sony that Failed Japan studios from letting all that talent go .

If there is a bright light to this story is that all these people will form their own studios which means we will get even more amazing games in the future .

DQ does not need to change anything . let it be the same turn based jrpg that it has always been .

I hope this game does very well and encourage Sega to bring over Jet Set Radio Future to modern consoles !!

Currently playing Fatal Frame 2 on my Playstation 2 . easily one of my favourite horror games of all time . Maiden of Black Water is the weakest game in the series but I am absolutely going to buy it when it comes out .

You are reading and thinking completely different things . I asked someone to name 10 exclusives . look up the term exclusive . Someone could consider anything a ps4 game if thats the only system they own but it does not change the definition of the word just to fit your narrative.

It reminds me of the 360/ps3 days when xbox fanboys would say oh its on xbox/pc only and microsoft owns windows so its a microsoft exclusive . it doesnt ! its a multiplat .

@theheadofabroom If Octane was talking about TLOU1 then its not a ps4 exclusive, which I could only assume he was talking about TLOU2 . I dont know how I am being disingenuous with what I said . Both Death Stranding and Horizon were ported to the pc before the playstation 5 ever came out so regardless if the game was brought to another system a year, 2 years or more its still a multiplat .

The wonderful 101 was exclusive for the Wiiu so even though it was remastered for the ps4 and xbox one years later does that mean its still a Wii u exclusive ??

One thing I can never understand is people defending a multibillion dollar corporation. once upon a time Ps Plus was 20 euros cheaper , optional and had free games across multiple platforms but now is mandatory , offers 2 - 3 games that are years old . if you find value in paying for ps plus congrats . I wont be losing sleep over these game announcements so dont worry , Sony will always be there to kiss you goodnight and call you their best little boy and always make you feel better .

why do I even bother paying for playstation plus

When I first finished it I gave the game a 8/10 but it was not long after finishing it my opinion of the game drastically changed and it became 6/10 game for me .

I only ever remembered enjoyed exploring in the game with everything else feeling so repetitive especially with the combat .
My biggest complaint with the game came down to how unoriginal it was given it was another Assassin Creed like open world game .

I am extremely tired of the Ubisoft Formula

The Steam Deck has alot of potential but the issue valve is going to face is getting devs to jump on board and have them optimize their games for the steam deck.

even though the specs of the handheld are impressive the games are still going to be running on a mobile chip at the end of the day and I would not expect alot of the bigger AAA games to be running 60fps or more without some serious optimizing .

Playing tasking games like Jedi fallen order on the go means battery life will be no more than 2 -4 hours at most .

The steam deck might not tap into nintendo market but it might be the perfect device to bring the pc market to the mainstream

I have seen alot of people complain just how barebones the OLED Switch was since its reveal , but I dont know what people were expecting when the world is facing the biggest chip shortage in recent memory from all manufacturers. it would of been an miracle for nintendo to release the Switch 4k pro that was rumoured .

All the rumours that people were reporting that said a new version of the switch was coming before Nintendo revealed it were pretty accurate . So if I were to make a guess Nintendo got cold feet last second knowing about the chip shortage but already ordered the OLED Screens from Samsung and had to put them to use in some way .

Regardless whatever actually happened , it would be naive to think we will never see switch 2 within the next 3-4 years with all the promised specs that were rumoured before .
