According to the specs sheet the xbox series s is still capable of running games at 1080p at 60fps. The price is very competitive and I am sure the series s will find its audience. The system seems to be more towards the people that will only use the game pass or the crowd that only play Call of duty/ Fifa/Fortnite every year . For a parent looking to buy their child a new console for xmas , the series s could be more compelling.
@rachetmarvel I never said Sony was struggling financially making first party games , I said there is a untapped marketplace and territory for Sony to invest into bringing over their Ips to PC. There are alot of countries who primarly play on PC. Korea, China , Taiwan ,Russia . Even Japan is slowly moving away from home consoles.
It only makes sense for Sony as a company to reach to as many players as possible .
This was always going to be inevitable for Sony to release their games over to the PC and to be fair their strategy is very different from Microsofts approach. The days of making a game exclusively for one platform is in the past as games development cost is way to expensive for this business practice.
Alot of people are bringing up Nintendo , but even Nintendo were forced to bring over their characters to Mobile.
Sony has stated that Playstation Exclusives will remain exclusive till the end of the console release . There are alot of untapped consumers Sony can reach to with their games as alot of countries soley play on PC.
Does this mark the end or devalue the Playstation Brand ? No , There is still alot of reasons to own a console . You will never build a PC that can match the Series X or PS5 Specs with the same cost and have the longevity 5-10 years. It is also much simpler for a parent to go to a store and buy their child a Console for Xmas or Birthday.
Even though I own a Gaming PC , I still mostly play Consoles because all my friends are on the Playstation Ecosystem. I am also not that patient of a person to wait 2-5 years hoping and waiting for a pc port of a game I want to play to come over just to play it on max settings . PC is a great Platform , but its not perfect .
At the end of the day its the games thats whats most important , Choose whatever platform you have fun with most and have fun =)
Seems like this is the common trend with alot of publishers now . The best solution is to just wait for the next gen versions to come out and not buy any of these games on current platforms.
I don't quite understand why alot of people here are upset with Suicide Squad when all Rocksteady showed was a CGI Trailer. Alot of people seem to have a problem with the game having Co-op Multiplayer , but rocksteady clearly said if you wanted to play the game singleplayer you can , and have the option to which between 4 different players at anytime .
The game does not release for another 2 years so the backlash seems unwarranted even when we don't even know what the game looks like yet .
@AhabSpampurse Finding value in a medium is something that is a really difficult thing to critique cause really only we can judge how valuable something is worth to us. I can only really talk about myself really , but like cases in the past with genres like open world games , I get incredibly fatigued dealing with the same mundane fetch quest and collectables and the repetitives of side quest you see all so often .
Removing all the filler from games means games release at a faster rate and cut games budget down by a considerable amount.
@nessisonett Judging a games value by its game length is wrong imo. Sure a $60 game thats 100+ hours long might give you alot of content for your money , but the vast majority of games are overly stretched with the same boring content that often times hurts the pacing of the game but also gives so much filler content that is not needed.
look up all of the most highly rated videogames from the nes to the ps2 era of games. most of these games averages at 8-12 hours long.
the best way to judge a game is by its quality not by its game length.
Very fun game with friends but if they could add more features like create a playlist to remove the team based modes and add more maps and mini games this could rival Rocket League as the next big party game
1.Ghost of Tsushima
2.Streets Of Rage 4
3.Final Fantasy 7
4.Nioh 2
5.The Last Of Us Part 2
6.Dreams
7.Resident Evil 3 Remake
I have yet to start Doom Eternal, Trials of Mana or Sakura wars but 2020 so far has been an incredible year for videogames and a near perfect send off for the Playstation 4 .
This really has nothing to do with Ghost of tsushima but I am very tired of the same open world formula devs love to borrow so much from ubisoft games , especially Assassin Creed . Almost every new open world game that comes out is a checklist of the same old boring side quest , collectables and towers you climb to unlock more of the map .
I am glad people are so excited for this game, but its not for me.
I have a feeling Astro Bot Playroom is going to get overlooked , which is a crying shame . AstroBot Vr for me was the closest thing Sony had to rivalling Mario . What Mario 64 did for 3D Platformers , Astro Bot did that for VR gaming .
Resident evil 8 was my game of show. While Demons souls was on the top of my wishlist , Resident evil 8 looked incredible . I hope and pray it will have a VR Mode like Resident evil 7 .
I dont know how to say this without sounding mean but anyone who says they dont care about backwards compatibility are hypocrites. These are the same people who got excited when Mafia Trilogy was announced , but also the same people who bought Borderlands handsome collection , Uncharted Trilogy , Call of duty modern warfare remastered and the list goes on and on .
If red dead redemption 1 was announced tomorrow morning , the majority of people would be rushing to Gamestop and Pre ordering the game .
I applaud capcom for sticking with this game as long as they have but sadly there has been so many missteps with SF5 since launch I am just waiting for Street Fighter 6 so they can start over.
Launch titles are normally terrible so I will not be expecting anything mind blowing . But it would be nice to see what type of games Sony have been working on for the Playstation 5 .
Maybe my taste have started to change but I am kinda getting tired of seeing the same AAA game always being carbon copies of Ubisoft games in which this is case its Assassin Creed. The game was always going to look visually breath taking but the combat since its first reveal looks very clunky and the combat animations are very poor . Such a shame as I was interested in buying it.
@Cornaboyzzz I have seen the leaks , but remember if games are art (which are claimed to be )then the artist should have 100% control of their art and be allowed the freedom of expression to tell the stories they want to tell .
It has been proven time and time again when fans shout boycott and say they wont buy or play the game , they buy and play the game .
How can anyone critique a game by going off leaks without playing it for yourself then making up your own mind ?
Everyone who says they wont buy it , will buy it ( Its already No.1 on Amazon ).
Dont get your hopes up people . Tony Hawks will never be as good as it was back in the day cause Neversoft have disbanded . The same goes with Crash Bandicoot , there is no point getting excited for a franchise returning if we do not know who is going to develop the game.
While everyone is entitled to an opinion I am not sure I exactly agree with your negative points towards the game , especially with regards to the points the game Sticks a little too close to the original and it has an Unremarkable story. Not every game needs to have a story, they are videoGames at the end of the day .
also to the point it sticks to close to the original is not a bad thing. SOR fans have been wanting a sequel for 26 years .
regardless I cannot wait to pick this up on Ps4 tomorrow
For the time I have spent with it thus far I would give it a solid 8 . The core gameplay is very fun but there is alot of hiccups when it comes to the way the dialouge is spoken, and the level design. While I dont mind it I wish the game wasn't so on rails ( Maybe it will open up later the more I play ) . Overall I am having a great time playing it .
@FullbringIchigo Nintendo probably wont give out free games but they have played a part donating 10,000 facemasks to medical helpers in the United States. Kudos to Sony and Nintendo
@tatsumi I was just going to write the same thing. There is zero excuse not to have Language Packs on the digital store , no matter what console it is .
@Jaz007 As I have already said to another person here , if as little as 60c dlc to cover alittle more cost to not only a niche title then by same definition you would want playstation to fail cause you are forced to pay for Playstation Plus. Otherwise you would be locked out playing online which is half a portion of a game . You have to be consistent with your argument .
@Get2thechoppa That is a bit to the extreme comparing having 1 save slot to New Game + . with that kind of comparison why are you accepting of Playstation Plus cause you know if you dont pay for it you are locked out of half a game.
@Jaz007 No the game does not need to fail . Just do not pay for it . its hardly going to break the game and most likely the majority of people wont play a second playthrough. Its already a niche franchise over here in the west and games are not exactly cheap to make.
@AdamNovice 1. You are misformed like the majority of people as to what actually happened to Jeff Gerstmann , he stated before years ago on ign and other media outlets the moment that got him fired was the ratchet review that happened before the Kane and Lynch review
2. You know before Sony had there press conference for the reveal of the Playstation 4 there was Loud leaks sony themselves were going to implement what Microsoft did , but then saw the negative feedback and made the console DRM free right and used it as a publicity tool to look like the good guys. You even said it yourself regards to Online Game Pass , it was for developers to stomp down on used copies so why would Sony Change that ?
Oh wait ! Cause they already implemented a pay wall that was once optional with Playstation plus offering free games across not only ps3 games but Psp and ps vita games . but now that is mandatory we have been paying more for less free games.
3. Yes the prices and size of the memory cards is what ultimately cost an amazing handheld its early doom , Sony had no interest supporting it after barely 2 years on the market didnt really help much either .
4. Im sorry but All Sony divisions work under the same roof and all operate from heads of multiple Ceos and executives on what business decisions are made and are told how to operate accordingly. Jim Ryan didnt suddenly become head of Playstation and soley make the decision to move PS headquarters to America and close all other headquarters in Europe and elsewhere without permission from the higher ups he works for .
the argument is still being made about artist such as Michael Jackson that it was planned to absoutely destroy a man just to get 100% control of his music .
Yeah Nintendo Prices being full price is quite annoying , but its understandable , they are ever green titles that always appear in the top 10 charts so they will always retain their value till the end of a console lifecycle .I remember GTA 5 was being sold for 60 euros for like 5 years . Nintendo do offer Nintendo Selects with a reduced prices but its usually at the end of a consoles lifespan . its frustrating I agree
@mini_piekarnik If its under fair use and you have permission from a publisher or creator then there is no problem . But the problem is for every copy of dreams that is sold , Sony is is gaining money and can indeed fall into legal troubles.
Regarding sharing your own art , lets say I drew fan art of Overwatch. There is no problem , but lets say I then sold it at conventions , if I get caught I can be sued by not only the artist without permission but also by activision and blizzard if they wanted to . Even if I drew a pose and used a models photo as a reference , if I dont give credit I can get into serious trouble .
@Nyne11Tyme Nintendo is the most anti consumer of the big 3 ? are you serious ?
Do you know the list of shady business practices Sony has done over the years to not only its consumers but also people who worked with them amongst all of their divisions .
To list a few Sony was the first company that soon led a trend of online passes on the playstation 3 era if you didnt buy the game new you were locked out of the online portion of the game.
Sony threatned Jeff Gerstmann who was working at gamespot at the time for not giving Ratchet and Clank tools of destruction a perfect score and pulled pulling ad money which led Jeff to lose his job
Playstaton Vita overly priced memory cards.
2011 PlayStation Network outage: when hackers claimed 2.2 million playstation users credit cards and sony said nothing for weeks and had to publicly apologise.
Sony BMG copy protection rootkit scandal: when they put mhalware and DRM into cd disks that broke peoples CD players .
Or about how they literally destroyed Michael Jackson Career and bankrupted the man for not handing over the rights to his music
Quote :We’re expecting backward compatible titles will run at a boosted frequency on PS5 so that they can benefit from higher or more stable frame rates and potentially higher resolutions.
Key word is We’re expecting
It offers no guarantee all games will be running at a higher framerate . Although I would love it to happen , I do not expect the likes of Bloodborne to be running at a stable 60 fps . If games are designed behind a locked framerate , undoing that results into more glitches and problems for said game .
It still seems to me with BC Sony is focusing on a console generation while Microsoft is prepping for the future with Xbox Game Pass.
If Sony is serious about Playstation Now it needs to add Ps1, Ps2 support
@Juanalf I agree , I just cannot see the reason why sony are handling BC the way they are . Jim Ryan comments never left me with much confidence when he once said why would anyone go back to play games from Playstation 1 as they look terrible .
Having BC means long Dormant franchises can gain new life for people who never played it and can breathe new life in a series for a new sequel or possible remake .
You would never see this happening from books , music or the movie industry . When the next future next gen experiences are seperated by long gaps of droughts on the calender year , having BC there across multiple generations of games means there is always something to play .
@AdamNovice You are missing the bigger picture . Good Publicity is key to having a successful Console launch.
Backwards Compatibility is very important if you are a company like sony that invested billions into an infrustructure (Ps Now) and want as much people as possible to subscribe and maintain .
When Microsoft is offering 4 generations worth of games on their service none of which require to stream games , its going to be very damaging to Sony once the industry leads to a Netflix type model in the future if they do not keep up and add Ps1,Ps2 support
@1_W1NG3D_4NG3L Im not sure if I can agree with your Statement How can you be in for the games yet disregard Backwards compatibility ? You know as technology increases , so does development time on games and you can expect huge gaps in the calender year with nothing to play and having BC fills in those gaps . Playstation may make better games than Microsoft but I can garuntee if you were to look at your gaming collection right now I would say 98% of your collection are Multiplats . When Ps5 early Adopters are waiting for the big games to play at launch , Microsoft users will be playing across 4 generations of games happily.
The fact Microsoft will continue having backwards compatible games across 4 generations of consoles means I will be buying the Xbox Series X . Xbox game pass is incredible value for money and I cannot wait to play Panzar Dragoon Orta and Ninja Gaiden Black once again
Alot of people are going to have to come to terms with that eventually consoles as we know it will be a thing of the past , and the new model will be Netflix like subscription services .
As technology becomes more advanced everyday , its going to be so difficult keeping studios open when games are getting too costly to make.
With Horizon Zero Dawn , I think sony is using the game as a marketing tool to try to get pc users to subscribe to Playstation Now for Next Gen .
It used to be before Console Sales were super important , but now the focus has shifted to Memberships and subscription services .
People might joke and laugh about Microsoft 41 million userbase , but if you looked at their last investors meeting , microsoft posted profits thanks to Xbox game pass .
I still much prefer consoles at the end of the day , but in the end its the games that matter most to me .
Even though I have a switch , I really hope there is someway Bayonetta 2 will be ported to other platforms . I much perfer to play at a stable 60fps than 40-50fps.
I have been a Yakuza fan since the first game on Playstation 2 but I was not a fan of Yakuza 6. I already started to question certain characters motives in Yakuza 5 and Yakuza 6 continued pushing characters in a certain direction that fell out of their character and who they are .
The side stories content was less fun or interesting compared to past entieries and the new dragon engine was still in development and the kinks was not fully ironed out till the releases of Kiwami 2
PC Gaming is great but there is a few things to consider before buying a pc.
1. For the most part you might be waiting up to a year or more for the bigger blockbuster titles like Monster Hunter World, Read Dead or GTA . but even then there is no guarantee its going to work in a stable condition without requiring a patch from the developers or you needing to look up a guide to work a fan patch.
2. Because there is so many different parts in a pc each problem you will face may be an issue only to your hardware and you may not find a fix that easily . whether that is frame drops , screen tearing , games not booting up , or over heating issues.
3. Steam is an amazing digital store front and while is always nice to have options it can be quite messy with the amount of storefronts there are on PC with Uplay , EA Origins, GOG, Epic game store.
Both Consoles And PCs have there pros and cons but if you like the idea of customisation Pcs might be for you =)
Despite having a gaming pc, consoles still caters to my gaming needs the most. Its where I invest the most into the eco-system via physical and digital games but more importantly its where my friends are.
While Exclusives do entice people to buy a certain platform its not the end all be all. I do not believe the mass audience cares that much if all exclusives made its way to the pc.
A parent is still most likely to buy a console for their child for Christmas than building or buy a pc for them .
and the Playstation brand is so valuable in itself that there is nothing to be concerned about.
The inevitable future may push us to a digital service , and while I am a strong believer in archiving games and the importance of game value . I still am more interests in games rather than if a game is exclusive or not.
I Don't think the mass audience cares whether or not PS 1st party titles remain exclusive or not . At the end of the day A parent is more likely to buy a console for their kid than build a PC for them . Before console sales was very crucial , but times have changed and now its more important to get enough people as possible signed up to services whether that be PS Plus/PS Now or Xbox Live/Game Pass .
To me , despite the news of Dreams or HZD going to pc, I am still a primarily a console user even though I have a gaming pc . Console still caters to me most and that is where all my friends are. =)

Re: Nintendo Putting Pressure on Sony to Remove Dreams Creations on PS4
@get2sammyb care to explain what Im wrong about ?
Re: Nintendo Putting Pressure on Sony to Remove Dreams Creations on PS4
@mini_piekarnik If its under fair use and you have permission from a publisher or creator then there is no problem . But the problem is for every copy of dreams that is sold , Sony is is gaining money and can indeed fall into legal troubles.
Regarding sharing your own art , lets say I drew fan art of Overwatch. There is no problem , but lets say I then sold it at conventions , if I get caught I can be sued by not only the artist without permission but also by activision and blizzard if they wanted to . Even if I drew a pose and used a models photo as a reference , if I dont give credit I can get into serious trouble .
its copyright for a reason
Re: Nintendo Putting Pressure on Sony to Remove Dreams Creations on PS4

Re: PS5 Backwards Compatibility Will Play Overwhelming Majority of All PS4 Games, Improved Framerates and Higher Resolutions
Re: Sony's Poor PS5 Backwards Compatibility Clarity Prompts Damning Headlines
@Juanalf I agree , I just cannot see the reason why sony are handling BC the way they are . Jim Ryan comments never left me with much confidence when he once said why would anyone go back to play games from Playstation 1 as they look terrible .
Having BC means long Dormant franchises can gain new life for people who never played it and can breathe new life in a series for a new sequel or possible remake .
You would never see this happening from books , music or the movie industry . When the next future next gen experiences are seperated by long gaps of droughts on the calender year , having BC there across multiple generations of games means there is always something to play .
Re: Sony's Poor PS5 Backwards Compatibility Clarity Prompts Damning Headlines
@AdamNovice You are missing the bigger picture . Good Publicity is key to having a successful Console launch.
Backwards Compatibility is very important if you are a company like sony that invested billions into an infrustructure (Ps Now) and want as much people as possible to subscribe and maintain .
When Microsoft is offering 4 generations worth of games on their service none of which require to stream games , its going to be very damaging to Sony once the industry leads to a Netflix type model in the future if they do not keep up and add Ps1,Ps2 support
Re: PS5 Backwards Compatibility Will Support 'Almost' All PS4 Games
@1_W1NG3D_4NG3L Im not sure if I can agree with your Statement
How can you be in for the games yet disregard Backwards compatibility ? You know as technology increases , so does development time on games and you can expect huge gaps in the calender year with nothing to play and having BC fills in those gaps . Playstation may make better games than Microsoft but I can garuntee if you were to look at your gaming collection right now I would say 98% of your collection are Multiplats . When Ps5 early Adopters are waiting for the big games to play at launch , Microsoft users will be playing across 4 generations of games happily.
Re: Microsoft Beats PS5 to the Punch with Impressive Xbox Series X Features
The fact Microsoft will continue having backwards compatible games across 4 generations of consoles means I will be buying the Xbox Series X . Xbox game pass is incredible value for money and I cannot wait to play Panzar Dragoon Orta and Ninja Gaiden Black once again
Re: Ex-Guerrilla Producer Rips Butthurt PlayStation Fans Over Horizon PC Port
Re: More Major News from PlatinumGames Coming Before the End of February
Even though I have a switch , I really hope there is someway Bayonetta 2 will be ported to other platforms . I much perfer to play at a stable 60fps than 40-50fps.
Re: Soapbox: Yakuza 6: The Song of Life Is One of the Best Video Game Send-Offs
I have been a Yakuza fan since the first game on Playstation 2 but I was not a fan of Yakuza 6. I already started to question certain characters motives in Yakuza 5 and Yakuza 6 continued pushing characters in a certain direction that fell out of their character and who they are .
The side stories content was less fun or interesting compared to past entieries and the new dragon engine was still in development and the kinks was not fully ironed out till the releases of Kiwami 2
Re: PS4 Exclusive Days Gone Makes the List of 2019's Best-Selling Games
@RazielReaper Yup I was looking at the wrong sales chart , my bad XD
Re: Poll: Will PlayStation Exclusives on PC Affect Your PS5 Purchasing Intent?
@Col_McCafferty
Both Consoles And PCs have there pros and cons but if you like the idea of customisation Pcs might be for you =)
Re: Poll: Will PlayStation Exclusives on PC Affect Your PS5 Purchasing Intent?
Re: Dreams Sounds Like the Next PC-Bound PS4 Exclusive
I Don't think the mass audience cares whether or not PS 1st party titles remain exclusive or not . At the end of the day A parent is more likely to buy a console for their kid than build a PC for them . Before console sales was very crucial , but times have changed and now its more important to get enough people as possible signed up to services whether that be PS Plus/PS Now or Xbox Live/Game Pass .
To me , despite the news of Dreams or HZD going to pc, I am still a primarily a console user even though I have a gaming pc . Console still caters to me most and that is where all my friends are. =)
