I remember Driver 2 had a glitch where if you progressed to disc 2 but then shut off the PS1 on restart it would say "hey you're playing Driver 2 please insert disc 1". So you'd have to swap discs and it it'd say "hey you're playing Driver 2 please insert disc 2".... EVERY TIME. Annoying as hell

Ico is in my top 5 all time. SotC I hated as it seemed empty and much more gamey. TLG seems to me a blend of the two.

And I was devastated when Ico wasn't and still isnt available in any form on PS4.

On release it mave have been a defining game. It may now be a cult classic, but will soon be nothing more than a memory if Sony doesn't allow people to experience it. Great article BTW!! Cheers!

I don't know anyone who played the first game let alone wanting a second. Ubisoft is like a WWI airship zeppelin captain promoting the lighter than air properties of hydrogen while dismissing the fact it's flammable. BG&E2 is going down in flames.

This is a "knockoff" of Journey made in America by the same dev. I struggle to see its appeal.

How does a studio who doesn't even have staff get labeled AAA?? Release something and the response/reviews will decide. Until then you're nothing to me.

No one plays GT for the romance storyline. I just skip those cut scenes.

ICO is a top ten title for me even with its issues. Didn't like Shadow at all and Guardian seemed a mash of the two. Personally would prefer a remake of ICO than anything new. Or at least allow me to buy HD Collection for PS4

I'm sure it'll sell as well as any NFS game, but not for me. Also, I'm not this gen ready. Still racing last gen, previous gen and old gen.

I'd be happy if someone re-released Monaco GP for PS4. And Pole Position!! Fun racing!! But sadly all we get is bad NFS games and GT7 is getting as dated as the aforementioned games.

I guess I'm just not urban enough, but this is unequivocally not for me. But if you're into it, maybe it'll be your NFS the way Hot Pursuit 2 was mine.

@Beerheadgamer82 Personally I think they fixed Project Cars with v3. 1& 2 were unplayable with a controller (or you maybe had to fiddle with various settings) and I'm never gonna buy a wheel. Games like GT7/Dirt/F1 may be arguably better or faster with a wheel but equal fun can be had with just a controller - no fiddling required.

Why SMS felt the need to dumb the game down to achieve passable controller handling is another topic.

@RBMango PD wants you to "collect" the cars before you can sell them so I'd guess selling won't come for a while yet. Just another game that forces their preferred playstyle on the gamer.

All characters except Dina were unlikable by the end of P2. P1 was the better experience. If they do P3 then I'll say P2 was better than P3. Because it will be.

If it's anything like the first two games, I expect the forthcoming DLC to be priced way out of my league. Even at 50% off. Definitely a rich person's game

It'll be a scam until someone figures out how to add actual value to it as well as stability. Then it'll be accepted. But now it's just scammers trying to get in before the quick bucks evaporate.

Unsurprising engagement is low. Sony added a ton of people who weren't gamers as they stayed home during COVID and needed something to do so they bought a PS/XB/Switch. Now they're back, out and about and not playing games.

You won't engage them anymore than you do, because gaming was merely a diversion. They're already gone and their consoles are collecting dust.

I remember early reports talking about how they wanted it to be seamless to go between SP and online meaning in my mind it was all online. Now all this seeming leading to live service means IMO they'll mess it up like GT7. Literally the only games I still play and both only the SP parts. Gone in the wind. Boooooo.

when you buy a album do you get a free upgrade to the new cassette and then again to the CD and then again to the remastered CD and then again to the deluxe 180g vinyl double album? no. period. you pay up each time or you go without.

the practice of free upgrades should never have started and needs to stop. You want a game on a new console, you pay up or you go without. Irrelevant if it has added content, remastered gameplay/visuals or is entirely remade.

You want it... you pay. Good for devs/pubs not joining the bandwagon and validating modern gamers entitled attitudes.

Somehow managed to not buy Crash 4 before it went to PS+ so a win for me. I will actually download it! A rare occurrence as I've redeemed nearly 80 games from PS+ over 5 yrs (I don't grab everything) and actually tried maybe 20 and liked maybe 5. Also many games I like on PS+ I already owned so those don't count.

PSessential til Jun 2023. Reevaluate then. Probably just continue with same.
