I think this could be a good situation for gamers, if they are both competing aggressively against one another, the end result is a better product for consumers because ultimately that's what will generate more income for both.
I hate to be that guy and lower the tone, but, there's a certain type of movie that has helped pushed tech over the years be it vhs, dvd and even the Internet itself. Now me personally, I'm not bothered, but if there was a way and people know about it, it could help push sales. I suppose it depends if sony want the association with that industry.
It's just a bizarre show, everything about it can be described as an odd choice in direction and tone. It feels like they knew they couldn't make a decent resident evil adaptation so they didn't even try.
I hate games that are solely based on walking around and discovering story by reading notes and what not. Many of them are pretentious and have no pay off at the end. But but but.....this game was special, the story was tounge in cheek and the dark humour was on point and the part with the train tunnel was so bitter sweet. Of course the fish gutting scene was the real star of the show and really resonated with me to the point where it was almost like it was holding a mirror up to me, and because of that, this game will always hold a special place in my heart.
Even though I can't wait to play this, I hope they take their time and make it a true sequel and not just more of the same, having platinumed the main game I really need something new and fresh from this excellent franchise.
Give me a small town with full destructible environments and explorable interiors that all tie to the gameplay over any large scale field with building shaped corridors.
Need for speed has been floundering for a decade yet the far superior burnout franchise has been left on the shelf for almost as long. With today's console power imagine how good a reboot of the original burnout games could be with modern particle effects and damage models and all in 4k with haptic feedback and 60fps
Surely this game is too far into development to not already have been held back by the last gen versions, unless they were ditched a while back and we're only hearing about it now.
@tomassi Sniper elite definitely has better gun play than hitman, I'd say the shooting in hitman is actually its weakest aspect, it's OK one on one but all out shootouts are just too finicky.
The thing I love most about this game is the positivity, no controversy, no fan backlash, no developer snark, just good things from a great game. A rare case of a product made, marketed and supported the right way.
The art style is horrendous, the characters themselves obnoxious and the gameplay, meh. Which is a shame because it was one of my most anticipated games before the ps5 launched. The bare bones of a good game are there but the balance is way off.
As someone who spends far more time playing smaller indie games due to the focus on new and interesting ideas and gameplay instead of the flashy graphics and not much else of AAA games, this is great news. Hades and curse of the dead gods have kept me far more entertained with their gameplay than any AAA game has managed this year. I don't need battle royales, micro transactions and identikit themes and settings thank you very much.
When I was in my early 20s, announcements at shows like e3 were the most exciting time of the year, now all I see is corporate interference, safe copy cats and 30 second announcements for games 3 years away. Maybe I'm jaded, maybe I expect too much but it's probably just games are about the bottom line now days and very little to do with new and exciting experiences.
This game is turning into this year's cyberpunk. I wonder if its going to become a Christmas tradition as companies rush games out in time for the holidays.
To be fair, if a couple of missing songs are enough to put you off buying three big open world games, then you were probably not that into them to begin with.
Do we even know if this game uses the cover mechanic from GTA V? Or is it just the aiming they've added? What about climbing up on objects? Saying that it'll have update controls can mean anything really and it's strange to me that it hasn't been fully revealed yet.
Does anyone else think we should of seen more of these games by now? Minute to minute gameplay just to get a feel of them and see what the new aiming system looks like. I haven't seen any confirmation on the soundtracks either, unless I've missed something.
I'm sick of next gen meaning the same as last gen in every way except very slightly prettier. Can you go in any building? Nah. Do the police have improved AI? Nah. Can you cause physical destruction to the environment? Nah. Can you do anything that I wasn't doing in GTA3 almost 20 years ago? Nah. Well done lads you've really pushed the boundaries with this one.
So it's an open world dark zone from division? Sounds like it could be good. Here's a crazy idea, I'll wait till its finished and released before I judge it, instead of writing it off instantly.
I was excited until I saw the preview videos, it looks more like a dlc expansion than a new game, everything looks too familiar and samey to the point that calling it an asset flip wouldn't be unfair. As for the animal companions, its getting a bit daft, yeah the dogs cute, but it looks like they're trying too hard now. The whole game seems like a 1st person Just cause and less like farcry 2 or 3 that were the series high point in my opinion
You can tell it was made by a small team but not in a way that hindered it. I found it can be hard as nails in places but you can usually figure out a way of swinging things in your favour. Personally I really enjoyed it, it had a cool atmosphere to it and the combat was very satisfying.
Tencent were no doubt behind Activision removing Tiananmen Square from the cold war trailer, one of, if not the biggest franchise in gaming, so If you think they're going to be hands off with any company they hold shares in, your far more optimistic than I am.
To me, it feels like they're not really doing anything at all, no ps5 only exclusives announced, no proper big games show and no ps5 consoles available to buy, their not even disputing the sometimes over blown bad press. Its like there coasting on the success of the ps4 and until their bottom line is effected I don't think they will change tact.
Unless Deathloop absolutely smashes it out of the park, this isn't going to satisfy most people. Not a good reply to all the announcements from other publishers over the last few months.
