Re: PS5 Fans Divided on PlayStation Portal Handheld

Daveuppercut

I just don't see the point, it's not small enough to take around with you, plus it needs to be on the same wifi and the price is ridiculous for something with such basic functionality. Anyone with a tablet or a decent size phone can replicate the experience without spending a penny and not be tied to the same wifi connection. I often plug my phone into a monitor at work and using the wifi and an old dualshock 4 it's better than this thing in every way.

Re: PlayStation Portal Is Sony's PS5 Remote Play Handheld, Priced at $200 / £200

Daveuppercut

@naruball it's not a matter of price, so much as a matter of timing, everyone was uncertain of the global economy at launch and the sales figures for psvr2 suggest most think it is too expensive. Never mind the fact that it's a peripheral that cost more than the system, it just doesn't look good, especially when there was talk about how it being wired could keep cost down, imagine how much it would of cost if there was a battery in that thing.

Re: UK Sales Charts: Onslaught of New Releases Can't Touch Hogwarts Legacy

Daveuppercut

The thing I'm learning over the last couple of weeks is the ones who are shrieking are the insane minority who have to threaten and intimidate because they clearly have no solid argument, the ones who shout about hate and violence are the ones guilty of it and have lost any sympathy I might of had for them. Its good to see the games they target are selling well despite the vitriol they spew.

Re: Hogwarts Legacy Breaks Livestreaming Record, Tops 1.3 Million Viewers

Daveuppercut

@dark_knightmare2 Yeah it's a shame for the players who have had it spoilt, clearly this person is on "that side" and not realising or caring that they are going to encourage hate towards them which I thought was the whole reason why they were against the game in the first place, this whole situation has exposed the group to be nothing more than an insane hate filled minority that should be ignored.

@roe Especially when developers receive death threats and intimidation and it makes all the news cycles, what could possibly be the difference? Harassment is harassment.

Ps, some cretin has posted spoilers down the bottom of the comments, even gone as far as to tag people in them. Ive reported them but don't know how long it'll take to have them removed, luckily I didn't read it fully and asked someone I was with who has no intrest to confirm my suspicions.

Re: God of War Ragnarok Update Adds Anticipated Photo Mode, Fixes a Bunch of Bugs

Daveuppercut

@tallythwack I feel totally under powered, can't chop a flimsy wooden gate out the way , bad guys ignore my hits, can get killed by worms, can't jump up waist high ledges instead got to do some samey freeze the chain puzzle, crawling under a low beam or jumping up a ledge every 30 seconds for no apparent reason, can't do basic stuff "cause magic" Not to mention all the stuff I can't do in game like jump 15 foot in the air to attack or chop obstacles down that Kratos then does at will in cutscenes.
Am I not a God? Because I don't feel like one. At no point do I feel capable of F'in someone up unless the cutscene does it for me. Also, these characters really shouldn't have an American accent, why does Thor say *****? None of it feels authentic.
Its no where near a bad game, its excellent, but in all the wrong areas for me.

Re: God of War Ragnarok Enjoys Biggest UK Launch in Series History, Just a Day After Release

Daveuppercut

Somethings been bugging me about this game ( and the last) and I now realise what it is, the puzzles completely destroy the illusion of being a god. Theres a wooden gate that needs opening, I'm playing as a powerful god, with an axe but rather than smash it down, like kratos does with much sturdier structures in cut scenes, when it suits, I have to mess with pulleys and levers. Or that ledge just above head height? could easily reach up and grab it or spend five minutes lowering the block. The guy leaps twenty feet in the air when taking down a dragon but 10 foot is too high to climb up? It's inconsistent, what are Kratos' powers exactly, he's a superhero when he needs to be then he's Nathan drake between bosses. Little lizards can hurt him but getting his face smashed into the ground from a 50 foot drop seems like an annoyance. It's a great game and I'm enjoying it but the swing from all powerful to everyman is jarring.

Re: Poll: Do You Care About 60fps on PS5?

Daveuppercut

I bought a ps5 for a next gen experience, it wasn't cheap and 60fps doesn't seem an unreasonable request. We were told these machines will do this and that and now it seems like all we're getting is cross gen releases.

Re: The Last of Us PS5 Remake Compared to PS4 Remaster, Has More Detail

Daveuppercut

It does look amazing, to say photo realistic wouldn't be an exaggeration, it's just a shame that graphics are way down my list of what makes a good game. Whilst I enjoyed the last of us 1 immensely it was never the graphics that did it for me, they were just the icing on the already delicious cake, and for that reason I'll save my money for something else, like a delicious cake.
